A Shah Parivaar Drabble
Observations And Ruminations
JSK everyone! (That would be Jai Shri Krishna for the uninitiated ;) )
Is that a chorus of “Manne remember chhe” I hear? I hope you are all doing well, particularly now that we have got rid of the resident strutting peacock, even if it may be temporary. Time, and Baa, will tell.
Which reminds me, I haven’t had a chat with my friend, the jhoola, lately. I understand my mistress had spent some time there a day or so back? I’m only relieved it had been Dolly ben who had turned up to see her rocking away and not Baa. We’d never have heard the end of it otherwise.
Baa is very territorial when it comes to her jhoola you may have noticed. Off she’d go on one of her rants. And then she has the temerity to say my mistress keeps on giving bhashan! Has she heard herself?!
Oops sowry, I haven’t even introduced myself and I’m already foisting my opinions on you. Main bhi na. As you may have guessed, I am a very observant member of the Shah parivaar. I keep my ear firmly to the ground, keeping abreast of the goings on in this house. I, behenas, am the one safeguarding that which is of utmost value. I am the one who houses that which the great (in his own head of course) Vanraj Shah has accused my mistress of smelling of.
Got it?
No?
Okie dokie, I’ll tell you who I am in that case.
I, sweet behenas, am my mistress, Anupamaa’s, masale ka dabba. Tada!
You know, the one who zealously and lovingly guards the magic ingredients Anupamaa uses to create those mouth watering concoctions that Vanraj and his family drool over. I can’t believe that idiot (self confessed hai behenas, before you’ll get uppity) said “Masale ki boo aati hai uss se!”
I was so furious that I had wanted to send my entire stock of mirchi his way. How dare he! I don’t see the “boo” affecting him when he shovels food down his throat. It was only out of respect for the fact that my mistress would not be impressed by my impetuousness that I held back.
I have borne witness to the many tears my mistress has shed over the years. It has been heart wrenching to see. She has the most giving of hearts for the ones she cares for. Barring a few, they all take undue advantage of that.
My friend, the pestle and mortar, occasionally helps to dissipate some of her pain. Well, we all try and do what we can. Anything for Anupamaa, is our motto.
I have so much more to say about the shenanigans that go on here, but you must be fed up by now. So, I’ll retire today and come back with a suitcase full of tales again. Which I may or may not park judiciously for Vanraj to trip over... He so loves going on trips, doesn’t he ;)
PS What Kavya told V today. Just plain delish it was! Boo to you, V 😆
PPS Kavya, complete with her Fendi hoops in tow, can apparate?! 😲
