What I think is there might be two possibilities why character of Karan has been dumbed down/ made dialogue less -

1. If zee is not irked with dd not promoting zee and Zee is not interfering with track of the show then of course the due to the great writers of the show.

2. And if zee is irked with dd for not promoting zee they might want to show him that with him getting less ss, less dialogues they can still successfully run the show, if this is the case then they have failed miserably.😂😂 Although I think this might have less chances because somebody here mentioned that zee does not interfere in tracks but they might do in this case if they are miffed with DD not promoting zee.

Sasural simar ka was initially just high family drama and romance too... it became supernatural zoo post introduction of naagin track in it... funny enough it was only after success of naagin track in sasural simar ka that brought about the supernatural craze of recent years on itv. In fact ekta only launched naagin series a few months after the booming success of naagin track in sasural simar ka, and people even then were saying the same that it was because of SSK that naagin series was launched.
