Could you share the details about the Vasudhev's Ashwamedh horse? I didn't know about it.
However considering Pradyumna abducted Rukmavati from her Swayamwar, and Rumki didn't like it, does it make sense that Krishna would abduct her aunt when Rukmi has a problem? I don't think he should have much issues in marrying his sister in the same household
About Pradyumna, actually SriKrishna showed Completely different thing, it had a Dasi of Sahambhasur rescuing Pradyumna and making him an adult, however she wasn't Rati, Rati was separately born. Shambhasur's wife was aged there and had adult children n daughter in laws
It is in Shishupala vadha parva. I posted the quote a couple of pages back.
This is again another piece of evidence that Krishna did try to get Jarasandha out on his own. It just wasn't possible because 1) Yadavas wouldn't cooperate and 2) Kuru Panchalas were needed as they were the only ones thought to have the right to the imperial throne.
Then, Panchali swayamvara happens specifically to build that alliance.

So that means Krishna had more than Ashtbharyas as his wives (excluding the supposedly 16100 junior wives,)
Satyabhama's sisters are named wives so definetly the chief 8 is not chief 8 but more.
A similar confusion like Krishna Rukmini Pradyumna Rukmavati also exists with Samba
After syamantak episode Akrura gives his sister to Krishna. His sister's name is given at some places as Sundari Kashya ( Akrura's father Svaphalka was Ghar Jamai in Kashi) and at others as Sudeva Kashya
Sundari Kashya is mentioned as Samba's wife and mother to his only son Suparshva in harivansh and vayupuran
I actually happen to think Rukmini didn't exist at all.
1. Pradyumna needed a mother figure to be known as Krishna's bio son even though Harivamsa is very clear he was not, and Bhagavatham says he was almost same age as Krishna.
My feeling is Krishna adopted Pradyumna from Gandusha before Jambavati/Satya happened. This way, Yadavas knew one of their trusted ones would be Krishna's heir even once he got married.
No other reason.
Yadavas mistrusted Krishna. Actually, so did Balram. None of the clan's warts get shown in shows, so we end up believing they were one bug happy family. Krishna was treated like dirt by them.
2. When Krishna helped Pradyumna abduct Rukmavati, there came the confusion on who exactly was her husband. Another example is Amba where Salwa refuses her because Bheeshma abducted her. Similarly, there was the problem in Rukmini/Rukmavati's case which with deification of Krishna was solved by splitting the women into 2.
There was absolutely no reason for Krishna to kidnap aunt along with niece. The point of marrying a Vidarbh princess was geopolitical because of the nation's location. It was achieved by Pradyumna already.
Also, Aniruddha was born by Panchali swayamvara. So the abduction of Rukmavati happened before. Could not have been with Subhadra haran.
Because Pradyumna was already Krishna's son by the time Jamabavati/Satya came along, his "mother" came to be called principal wife.
Another puzzle is Naraka's mother. Satyabhama was with Krishna during that attack. She is known as Bhumi avatar. At the end of the battle, Naraka's mom Bhumi hands over the jewelry. So 2 women of.same avatar come face to face? I've been trying to puzzle it out.
Perhaps Satya wasn't there at all, and Krishna was rescued by Ma of Naraka.
The abduction and the marriage took place before the Kurukshetra war. But then nothing has ever been right here. π

So how are they showing Duryodhana and company imprisoning Samba? Kauravas back from the dead?π
Nobody imprisoned Samba. He escaped with Lakshmanaa who harbours a deep-seated desire for revenge against Krishna as she deems him responsible for her father's death. πOriginally posted by: HearMeRoar

YES. Samba abducted Lakshmanaa from her Swayamvar. The enraged Kauravas, led by Karna, captured Samba and brought him and Lakshmanaa back to Hastinapura.Originally posted by: Sutapasima

Balrama then went to HP to secure Samba's release and Duryodhana finally sent his daughter with a hefty dowry.
