Rukmini just has no role in any of what happened to Krishna.

The principal I think because the abduction happened before Krishna was married. Somehow, the same woman was split into 2 personalities. Otherwise .there were 2 abductions very close together from adoptive father and son, involving auntie and niece of the same household, to the point they had to occur within a year or two of each other.

Remember, Aniruddha had to be born by Draupadi swayamvara. And Satyabhama/Syamantaka episode was still going on at the time. Ie, Krishna was only on his 3rd wife by the time of Aniruddha's birth

Will this mean that Draupadi Swayamwar happened 16 years after Dwarika construction? Since Shishupal was born after Dwarika was established. Now Rukmini wouldn't be married at birth. Nor would she be berothed to an infant.

Considering Krishna Rukmini were already married by Panchali Swayamwar would it mean that, it happened years after Dwarika construction?

Wouldn't it mean she was much younger to her husbands? Draupadi couldn't be their First wife in this case

The timelines are clearly messed

1. Aniruddh is Rukmavati and Pradyumna's son and a favourite of both Krishna and Rukmi. That is verified from multiple sources and multiple events.

So this part of Pradyumna marrying Rukmavati can be taken as canon.

2. Rukmini has absolutely no plot point in Krishna's life other than asking him to kidnap her from her home.

Satya had syamantak Mani war - where she gets Krishna to kill her father's murderer and is eventually responsible for bringing out in open Yadava fights, narkasur vadh, where in some versions she deals him the fatal arrow, as well as Yadava fratricide where she is present and rather instigates the fight..

As in plot points _ her presence and her actions takes the story forward.

As in you change Rukmini with any other princess say Mitravinda of Avanti, she is as devotional as her and Krishna marries her the same way by going against her brothers. The story of Krishna's life will not change.

But you take away Satyabhama, Krishna's life changes with just one incident. He doesn't get syamantak Mani and her dowry that made Dwarka richest kingdom of that time. Kritaverma doesn't become Krishna's enemy at heart and maybe doesn't join Duryodhana's side and Yadava fratricide doesn't happen. Balram doesn't get upset and go to Mithila and take Duryodhan as his student. Duryodhan remains a much weaker warrior

She was the literal Lakshmi as well because she is the one who brings all the wealth and syamantak Mani to Krishna and Yadava as her dowry.

Though Rukmini as Lakshmi or Radha as Lakshmi is the popular perception. In real terms both of them did not bring any wealth or money by themselves, neither did they manage the wealth like Draupadi did for Pandavas. The wealth and prosperity of Dwarka and dowry of Satyabhama was managed by Akrura.

Her marriage to Krishna sowed the seeds of Yadava acrimony and had implications for Mahabharata war and she adds fire to the final fight of Yadavas Fratricide.

That is Satyabhama's importance.

No offence to Rukmini or her love and devotion for Krishna or Radha or any other wives. But this is again canonical fact. Krishna's life story will be completely different if Satyabhama is not there. But if we remove Rukmini or Radha his life story doesn't change.

Interestingly Pradyumna does marry a mother figure, his wife Mayawati is supposed to have raised him at shambasur's palace. And married him once he kills the Asura.

Did he marry Mayawati?? Heights of it.

Actually this makes me wonder even Jamvanti has more role to play than Rukmini

The use of Rukmini is only in removing Satyabhama's pride during the Parijat Vriksha instance

The kidnapping by shambasur and his subsequent battle with him and killing him with the help of Maya (shamabsur's wife) maybe true. Eventually he marries her as was not uncommon at the time

Someone did a lot of mental gymnastics to change this to instant growth into adulthood miracle and the weird story of reincarnation of Kamdev and Maya being Rati, who gets born several years earlier and marries sambasur to ensure that she is there to rescue and help a baby Pradyumna' when he is kidnapped.

Actually this makes me wonder even Jamvanti has more role to play than Rukmini

Yes Jambavati had one major role, she was childless as was Satyabhama for a very long time and there fore insisted on Krishna to do Tapasya to Mahadeva to get a son like Pradyumna (who was adopted). And then she got the spoilt brat Samba who ended up being family destroyer. Happens to children who are born pretty late in life. The story makes a lot of sense when you put her as first wife and satya as second wife and Rukmini comes 16 years later.

Also makes sense that Pradyumna gets adopted much earlier but Rukmini gains the title of his mother she being the aunt of his wife. As by then Krishna had completed 11 year tapasya and got samba for Jambavati and Bhanu and Bhanumati for Satya.

I think Krishna marries the aunt several years later after Pradyumna crashes the niece's wedding and marries her.

It's not a compulsory that aunt has to be older than niece.

Personal example here. My nephew is same age as me and 4 years older than my brother. 🀣

There are stories of Rukmini being an adopted child. Usually the head of the family/King does the adoption. Bhishmaka was still the king at the time.

The use of Rukmini is removing Satya's pride makes sense and So does Satya's jealous behavior towards Rukmini and not Jambavati if we see it as Krishna marrying a 16 yr old atleast 20 years after their marriage.

I think specifically Rukmini Krishna marriage happens around the time Arjun marries Subhadra.

I think Jarasandh takes a teenage Shishupal as a protege after he stops Vasudev's ashwamedha horse. And tries to arrange his marriage to Rukmini to rebuild an alliance against Krishna and Pandavas. Karusha were Krishna's allies and he takes away their bride as a possible revenge against Krishna taking Rukmini.

Subhadra Arjun marriage is followed by Krishna Rukmini marriage and then Jarasandh is killed leading to Rajasuya where Shishupal is killed.

Krishna does not marry Satyabhama alone

He married her two sisters Vratini and Prasvapini as well as per Harivansh and Vishnupuran

Could you share the details about the Vasudhev's Ashwamedh horse? I didn't know about it.

However considering Pradyumna abducted Rukmavati from her Swayamwar, and Rumki didn't like it, does it make sense that Krishna would abduct her aunt when Rukmi has a problem? I don't think he should have much issues in marrying his sister in the same household

About Pradyumna, actually SriKrishna showed Completely different thing, it had a Dasi of Sahambhasur rescuing Pradyumna and making him an adult, however she wasn't Rati, Rati was separately born. Shambhasur's wife was aged there and had adult children n daughter in laws

So that means Krishna had more than Ashtbharyas as his wives (excluding the supposedly 16100 junior wives,)

When I was introduced to your OS first time, I was awestruck .... this much perfection?!!!⭐️ Immediately my eyes ran towards the top to read the name of the author. Every sentence, each and every expression were so perfect, it's just impossible to write better than this, I felt like that!

It is an honor to get a chance to read such good work Shruti, and if someone asks you to judge it ??? What to say?! ❀️

Indeed. Persistence is a very valuable trait. And the creator's curse puts you on the path of a relentless pursuit. One never escapes the endless thirst for self-improvement. This is what keeps one going.

P.S. When will the results actually come? Curious about it. πŸ˜…

I am also waiting to see that thread. Soonish I think. But I am sure it'll be wonderful whenever they declare the results, it'll be worth waiting! πŸ€—
