Producer Yash Patnaik of Beyond Dreams Entertainment talks about his work experience with Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 star Helly Shah and Rrahul Sudhir, how much special Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi to him and his so far Indian Television journey. Read on:
Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi is still so fresh among the audience. During its re-run also fans showered the same love for the show. Any message for KRPKAB fans?
Ans: Kuchh Rang.. will always remain ‘kuchh special’ to me, Mamta and everyone at Beyond Dreams. We had a great team of writers, crew and cast. The belief, trust and support we got from Sony made it possible. It was like a family thing. I think somewhere the positivity showed on screen. I must say we are extremely grateful to the wonderful audience, especially the online audience. They showered a lot of love on the cast, crew and us as makers. My message for them is, stay happy, stay safe and stay connected.
Do viewers will ever see the sequel/ season3 of Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi?
Ans: It’s an easy question with a difficult answer, which we don’t have at the moment. For the time being we will rather go with the flow.
Coming back to Ishq Mein Marjawan2; the show is suspense and mystery, how much effort does it take to hold on the tracks to keep it entertaining and suspenseful at the same time?
Ans: Daily thriller is a tricky genre. There is always a fear of exhausting the story and plots, hence one needs to innovate constantly. It takes a lot from the creative team to keep coming up with something or the other in every week, every episode and every scene. I am glad Mamta and her team along with the Channel are coming up with ample twists and turns to keep the audience engaged.
Your experience working with Rrahul Sudhir and Helly Shah?
Ans: It has been a wonderful experience working with both Rrahul and Helly. Rrahul is a brat. He is always in for some mischief. In real life he is very different from Vansh. But when he is in front of the cameras, he just transforms. Very hardworking guy. I am happy to see the adulations he has been receiving from the audience.
On the contrary Helly is a doll. I must say she is one of the finest actors in television today. She has mastered her craft. You give her any emotion, she adds her magic to it. As a person she is a very affectionate girl and a thorough professional.
With the change of time audiences show their interest in ‘content driven’ drama rather welcoming saas-bahu saga, being a producer/director how do you see this change in the perception of viewers?
Ans: Good content will always find its audience, irrespective of the genre. Having said that, I think the audience is changing with time and exposure to digital media. They are ready to experiment. They want to see new characters coming from across India. As a producer we are extremely careful about this and we try to bring something new with all our shows.
What is your personal favorite genre Romance/ Thriller?
Ans: Romance-Thriller. They are like paint and canvas. You can’t say who makes the other beautiful. But together they are a crazy team.
From producing Rang Badalti Odani to Ishq Mein Marjawan2, how would you describe your journey on ITV as a producer?
Ans: Oh, it has been a dream journey. We have produced over 35 original series and 10,000 episodes of top rated content since Rang Badalti Odhani. When I look back, it makes me extremely happy to see so many newcomers who started their journey at Beyond Dreams and have made it so big in their lives. Be in TV, digital or film industry. I think that’s very satisfying. As producers are working with some exceptional talents currently and developing a great line up of content for next couple of years.
Show Ishq Mein Marjawan2 recent promo is full of suspense and excitement level of fans is high, if you want to reveal any tricky spoilers for the show fans?
Ans: Ha ha ha. I won’t spoil the party. But I must say, be ready for a roller coaster ride. Some crazy stuffs coming your way!
