It also struck me how good of a casting job this has been that Neil does look like Vasant a bit in some bits like they can be passed as siblings

Haha thanks, Fary😆.....woh cropping mein itne hi options the given the low quality of the vids, so kaam chalaa liya😆.

The banoon main there kaabil bit is also one of my fav. scenes....The way Kesar asks Gulaal, "Aur teri duniya mein kaun hai"? 😆.....Neil was superb in that scene.

Yeah, casting was awesome....more than anything, it's the way Neil even has a resemblance to Ali (chhota Kesar) that really amazed us....they did take care to cast the characters aptly....they all looked like a family.

Re: Vasant....the more notable thing was the way they always positioned his portrait in the backdrop of almost every scene....you could see Vasant's legacy, his presence looming large over the family, the story even after his death. In almost every scene, Vasant's picture is right behind someone's shoulder when the camera is focused on them😆.....or in the case of Gulaal and Kesar, they always have a pic of Vasant in their rooms that they keep talking to😆

I loooooved this song when they first released it on Coke Studio. Co-incidentally they used it on Shiv-Anandi in Balika Vadhu as well😆.

Btw I don't know if you realized it, but Gulaal was by same PH/makers as Balika Vadhu😆.....this was the last of the quality shows they made....uske baad they made crap like IPK2😆

Watched chalaang and I have mixed thoughts on it idk agar koi aur dekhe toh batana it could've been so much better they got some.elemnts right like the rural school setting but so much was just phuss like the whole.competition I mean it is the most predictable.thing.all.the time but the journey is what matters and to involve the audience to root for the thakeli team but this was just mehhhh . Too much was bizarre like the teacher sahib finding random cases against bachon ke parents who refused to.let them play. Kuch ajeeb sa tha . Message toh they were going for is that axha teacher is helpful caring and is taking all the students together appreciating every bit of.improvements and all but phir bhi could've been lor funnier and engaging given the cast that they had . I felt both Sakuraba dhukla and Satish kaushik were wasted and not used to the core kaafi boring sa ho gaya tha

Ok I am lil ahead now and am finding the glaring double standards rather amusing. The same paanba who wants to protect the bahu from evil dushyant for his lust is now under a different kind of pressure from jamuna and society and knowingly is pressurizong her daughter to go with someone who has crossed limits and molested her and deeming that right and that boy right still despite crossing his line caz uske saath rishta fix ho chuka hai rewa ka and that somehow automatically gives him the license to do anything with her and she is being blackmailed from.all sides to say yes and go marry that boy. It is intresting to see the same people react so differently to almost same situations but applied to different rishtas and in a different way and the eat part is it is not that she feels ke despite everything kampong is a good guy and will keep rewa happy the funny part is that she knows he may not be be right yet she isn't standing up for rewa with her and taking a stand as a mother but is being more a wife of motabha . WhT makes it rather amusing to me is that paanba actually saw how mothabha warned her against dushyant for gulaal and right now she is being blinded that he will be upset if he finds out that his own daughter has been a victim of kamlesh ki list. It's funny to see her being super protective of gulaal and her lagan to protect her vaz kahin na kahin woh phir bhi kisi aur ki beti hai they are answerable for her but rewa pe yeh baat ulti padh rahi hai caz she feels ke u ki beti handle kar legs and usko society is aise bachana hai. The basic line and feeling is same to protect both the daughters from society but the solution to that is so different . It's not like I don't understand paanba or she is wrong given the way the picture is being painted in front of her caz unfortunately this is how society functions yet in this case she is knowingly supporting the wrong party due to the burden and is blinded partially. Just the different layer of the same character over here is written so beautifully she isn't right but isn't wrong either it is not like you want to support her in this yet exactly it isn't a fault either is what i am enjoying hope am making sense here

Baaki the scene where dushyant kidnapped gulaal woah that was some fierce fire energy mixed with the divinity as you guys said. Just the act of gulaal surrendering herself and seena taan ke standing there was enough to unravel anybody caz that requires next level of bahaduri and that is bold. Just her pure conviction in that moment to take it upon herself if that means dushyant will sudhrofoed woah. 👏

Oh this is an interesting point about Paanbaa.....I actually don't remember the details of her stance from around that time cuz that phase is a haze for me other than the DV part. The whole angle with Reva and the guy everyone was pressuring her to marry.....mujhe bas vaguely yaad hai.....but you make a good point about the same problem being given different solutions based on the person in question.
