Bigg Boss 14 failed to garner TRPs for these reasons

After the super success of Bigg Boss 13, the latest season of Bigg Boss started in October but unfortunately, it is not garnering good TRPs and attention from the audience. While first month of the show got badly affected due to IPL, we expected the controversial show to gain momentum post the conclusion of the cricketing event. But Bigg Boss 14 is still struggling to do well. And here are the reasons it failed to create any impact till now...

Fake love storyImage credit: Instagram

Fake love story

While last, we saw some great bond between the contestants and got some popular pairs like Sidharth Shukla-Shehnaaz Gill, Paras Chhabra-Mahira Sharma and Asim Riaz-Himanshi Khurana. This time, we are seeing the makers playing around the love angle between Eijaz Khan and Pavitra Punia, which seems fake and that's why it is not getting a good response from fans.

Nepotism debateImage credit: Instagram

Nepotism debate

The nepotism debate between Rahul Vaidya and Jaan Kumar Sanu got a backlash from fans and resulted against the show.

Biases and favouritismImage credit: Instagram

Biases and favouritism

We also witnessed makers and sometimes even Salman Khan getting biased towards contestant like Eijaz Khan and targeting Abhinav Shukla and Rubina Dilaik. Well, the audience have slammed the favouritism of makers on social media but it doesn't seem to have any impact on changing the minds of the producers.

Hatred for the showImage credit: Instagram

Hatred for the show

Post the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, we saw a certain section of the audience boycotting the show and that thing has definitely affected the show.

Unfair evictionsImage credit: Instagram

Unfair evictions

Right from the beginning we saw some unfair evictions in the show starting from Sara Gurpal followed by Shehzad Deol and Nishant Singh Malkhani. Netizens criticised BB 14 for this eliminations and showed their support to the contestants. Talking about her elimination, Sara told BollywoodLife, It is janta (public) ka show and they should be the final decision-makers. He (Sidharth Shukla) did what he wanted to do. I am surprised that two good beautiful women (Hina Khan and Gauahar Khan) agreed with him without any resistance.

Only few popular facesImage credit: Instagram

Only few popular faces

While last year, we had celebs like Sidharth Shukla, Rashami Desai, Hindustani Bhau, Devoleena Bhattacharjee as the participants, this time there are very less popular faces from the entertainment industry, which include Rubina Dilaik, Aly Goni and Jasmin Bhasin.

Fights over petty thingsImage credit: Instagram

Fights over petty things

Throughout the episode, we saw contestants fighting over petty things, which are unnecessary and uncalled for. None of the fights or verbal spats have managed to engage the viewers.

Boring momentsImage credit: Instagram

Boring moments

In many episodes, we came across several boring moments and lost our interest in the show.

Well, the late night slot has also affected the TRPs of the show.

Concur with almost all of the points made... The season doesn't really have many big names and in general is boring.

The clear biasedness of Salman and BB creatives is a big turn off too! As for eviction, public voting has been made a joke this season...

Agreed with all points made. This season was going to suffer anyway due to all the controversies surrounding Bollywood after the unfortunate demise of SSR but it’s doing worse due to 1. Not many big names (a lot of them backed off) 2. Favouritism seems to be growing with every passing season 3. Fake and forced showmance between Eijaz and Pavitra. It didn’t only ruin Eijaz game but also the show for many 😵 4. Seniors concept- they wasted so much time with this concept and the contestants missed out in their very initial weeks in making good alliances and friendships which audience looks forward to. Alliances seem to be changing everyday this season. And of course public voting

No big names is an issue but it's sad to be honest. On one hand, people are fighting against nepotism and on the other hand, people won't give non famous names a chance. That itself is also a form of nepotism.

There are more popular faces this time than last year. Last year there were only Devo, Rashmi and Shukla. This time they have KK, Jas, Rubinav, Aly and even Rahul to some extent so that point is not true. I think the main reason is nepotism and boycott BW campaign

The only reason I like this season is because I don’t like any contestant and I can bash anyone lol 😂

Ok I agree people might not know him but I remember Rahul came in a singing show when I was a very small kid. And he won it according to me , but now I came to know he was the runner up. So, despite not winning if I remember him from the show then ig he was popular there. As soon as I listened to his name I recognised him. So yeah, he is not very popular. But the ones who watched the show will definitely remember him cause despite being a kid I have a clear memory of him( infact my mom does too.). No offense to you, I just want to clear that Rahul to some extent is popular.

The senior concept for two weeks hampered the show. Nothing else.

Less popular faces aren't the problem imo. Why will popular people come to the this show?

Kavita Kaushik is more known than Siddharth shukla was . They got veteran like Eijaz khan. Rubina is/was a big star. Jasmine played leads and appeared in reality show. They got Nishant who was playing lead of a top rated tv show. Sara is hugely popular in Punjab just like shehnaz was. Shehzad is a winner/runner up of a MTV show. Most of them are more or less popular.
