In the movie Hindi Medium,

Raj and Mita wanted their daughter Pia to get admission in a prestigious English medium school, but their application gets rejected because the parents were not graduates and had a poor grasp in English language.

Now leave the rest of the movie aside, what do you think about private schools only accepting children whose parents are also educated? This is something which happens in real. Do you think it's right and acceptable?

Because well, private schools are private, just like Bollywood, so they should have the choice to take admission of any kid they want without any questions asked, right? Private schools have their own reputation and if they want to give students admission based on their educational and rich backgrounds, nobody should question them.

If you agree with this, do you think children from poor or uneducated families don't have the right to get quality education?

Isn't this just like nepotism? Bollywood is private industry so they can cast whoever they want. So private schools can also give admissions to whoever they want?

Or they can't or shouldn't?

For private schools, is it really a pre-requisite that the parents know how to speak fluent English? I honestly would’ve thought they only care for your money and as long as you’re paying their fees, they don’t really care for much else. It’s a whole different debate that if you’re born in to money, speak good English you are treated very differently to someone who’s maybe there on scholarship/from poorer backgrounds. It’s a constant struggle to fit in. Your parents don’t play golf at the club every Sunday, you don’t have an annual membership at Khar Gymkhana, you can’t afford to throw fancy birthday parties.

I don't agree with this current system of education. What if one of the parents are uneducated or cannot speak fluent English??? I have seen educated people behaving like idiots and not much educated people behaving in the most sensible manner. My mum is a house wife and isn't much educated but that didn't stop her from making me what I'm today. She taught me most amazing lessons in life which no one could have even thought of❤️

And why is it necessary for this stupid schools to have both the parents working condition (yes I've heard about it) when they can't give full time to their kids. I know working couple manage their kids very well but still🤪

@bold, yes it is. It was shown in the movie and it happens in real as well. Private schools take only those children whose parents are also educated and speak fluent English.

Their reason is that they want parents who could guide their children in studies. Background of the child is taken into consideration during admission.

I've seen children of private schools behave as hooligans and the teachers make the children everyday walk on streets as if they are marching. These schools charge 2 lacs per years but their facilities are almost NIL. Some other schools are more strict but have heard that their also way of teaching children is not upto the mark.

Considering my Engineering college, the teachers cared a damn if students pass or fail. They used to threaten me and my classmates to fail us or give us less marks just because they have that right while they never bothered about teaching us after getting hefty salaries and forget about extra classes, if we used to even ask them about a doubt we had during exams, they used to insult. We used to take private tuitions for all subjects. While I've seen Government schools with teachers who really cared for their students and used to take extra classes.

I don't have a problem unless they don't try to steal other people's work/credit or are talented enough or are hardworking

But why don't you have a problem? Parents making films for their kids is one thing and people like Karan Johar supporting star-kids only because they are star-kids is another. It's the same as schools taking kids from educational and rich backgrounds.

I think Karan johar spends his own Money in producing movies that has star kids. Isn't it??? Uska paisa hai, kahin bhi lagaye, if it's worth it we should watch it and if it's not then don't.

But he also makes movies with Siddharth, Deepika srk na????

Can't the same be said about private schools? Unka school, kisi ko bhi admission de, unki marzi.
