Just because we love the show, doesn't mean we need to justify it every damn time when it messes up, not when they just shake the whole damn base of the concept of the show. If that's negativity, then I am fine as a pessimist!

The characters can be fictional, place can be fictional, but the era is not. Otherwise they could have put the era as 2020 and say this is fictional world where child can get married to a man in 2020 and no one would mind because its fiction. That's lame.

Gandhi Ji only wanted women to be educated so that they could teach the kids he believed that women should stay in home only and didn't support women freedom fighters. So Gandhi shown as a feminist when he clearly didn't support Women Empowerment is ignorant.

Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Courts all were ran by the British Government how could a principal go against the Government DIRECTLY? The management wouldn't accept that and would have closed the school in reality.

@Bold: I agree. I think Gandhi is the wrong role model for the topic of Women's right. There was Raja Ram Mohan Roy who did remarkable things, Jyotirao Phule and his wife Savitribai Phule, Pandita Ramabai, and what the he** happened to women like Sarojini Naidu and Aruna Asaf Ali? Even Dr. B R Ambedkar was a social reformer since his young age!!
