Hence proved that Ani owns a time machine, because he was reading a book that was published in 2007. 🤣

haan haan jhelungi

maybe, i have never seen him so bhadka hua before😆

Braces ka chakkar hai bhaiyyaaa😵

Haan aaj toh me khatam ho jani thi.

Ik Bondita Das is as patriarchal as Bondita Roy Chowdhary, but here I wanted to focus on the Roy Chowdhary part because she grew up as Bondita Das and maybe... maybe Sumati and her father had the same surname or something, that part isn't clear, nor am I justifying and I had another OS idea in the back of my mind to write one on the Surname thing by birth too, that's why I kept it for another day and there are matrilineal societies in the world too. I kind of prefer, the child choosing what they want to go with because I think people wouldn't really like to have just a name because they're conditioned to having a surname right. Just like you are very proud of your name Briti Sengupta, people would like a surname. And Bondita liked her name from what I got from the show and adding an RC was just like an imposition on her for me considering neither she was aware nor she was told, just one day everyone started calling her BRC.

Plus by that logic ARC flaunting his RC surname is in a way promoting caste system. Here I just wanted to put light on how a girl's entire identity changes as she married and nothing before that, and just how Bondita would have doubted about this name change. Maybe in some other situation she would have thought about the initial surnames too, but I just kept that for some other day.

For me, she is Bondita Das, because that was what she was and she loved her father and obviously her name too. Yes its patriarchal but she is Bondita Das, for me.

(I don't have a surname though, I have an initial)

Trust me we all ridiculed the mahaan ITV bahu Bondita.

I know that in those eras they grew up and became mature quicker than girls of this era, but keeping secrets, dil dhadakna, clapping and singing ai giri nandini, forgiving mami etc were too ott.

Cheers.

Fun fact the girl who knows only one aarti , she is singing sanskrit mahisha sur aarti ...Dil dhadak raha hai ...Yeh kya dialogue hai ..🤣

Okay so the part about making imperfect relationship perfect is the tagline of the show, as announced by the makers. So yes, the show is about that, though the means of brining about social change. And I do think it's very much possible to show RUDHITA's journey in learning about the wrongs around them and their fight to correct it even if there's a leap. It'll be Rudhita nevertheless; no matter who plays the part. I feel the story is more important than who plays specific roles. If they start altering the screenplay based on wanting particular actors to stay or leave, then that's a perfect recipe for the story to go haywire due to needless dragging. Which I guess is what's happening now in some sense.

In fact, a leap is the only way thy can show far greater social challenges and them both fighting the society. How will they create an example for society if Bondita does not grow up and remains a child?

There's a limit to the issues they can raise while still showing the character to be 11-years-old. The Hira Mandi track, ideally, should not have been shown with such small child actors. But again, that's another topic up for debate which too, I understand, is an unpopular discussion here.

What we see now with the younger Bondita is what is escaping the soul of the show - chhoti si aadarsh bahu Bondita who doesn't get tired being the mahaan, self-sacrificing ITV bahu!

Anyway, to each his/her own. Cheers!

Dekho behen, I'm not a debate person, in fact I like to stay silent. I only replied to your comment because most of us don't want leap, not at least for an year. We actually want to see him raising her, teaching her the rights and wrongs of the world, educating her and to do so the storms, the barriers they will have to face. The makers can't just fast forward through them.

The journey from imperfect to perfect can't be made overnight. What's the rush?

I know they are overdoing it sometimes, there are some cring worthy moments too but that does not mean leap is the solution. Makers needs to be little more careful about the contents, yes, but it's not something we can't overlook once in a while.

Also when we get married no matter the age a certain level of maturity develops in us. I guess the makers are taking this matter too far but we are still talking about itv so...

@ul- i don't think I can ever agree to that. I also don't think it's needless dragging. But those are my opinion i didn't mean to hurt you. If I did I'm sorry.
