Just wanted to reiterate here that the show is about ANIRUDH and BONDITA, and NOT about AURRA or PRAVISHT or any of the actors.
The focus should not be on Aurra as Bondita or on Pravisht as Anirudh. The show is supposed to focus on how the characters Anirudh and Bondita's imperfect relationship becomes a perfect marriage eventually, and how they get together as a couple despite the difficult circumstances while bringing about social reform and change in the society around them!
So, a leap is a must and inevitable! Change is the only constant in this world! Tbvh, I am already not liking the way they are portraying Bondita as the perfect "bahu", speaking dialogues like an ITV bahu, shown to be thinking like an aadarsh bahu, etc. It's no longer cute after a point, considering her age; it's starting to feel a bit odd nowadays here and there, UNLIKE the earlier episodes when she just got married. Ironically, they were just married then, but it wasn't feeling odd at all at any point. At that point the writing was such that she was good at heart and always curious, but still had a lot of innocence and behaved like a kid.
They need to show her growing up and how she experiences the rush of young love for her pati babu. They need to show a 20-year-old Bondita becoming a Barrister with Anirudh's guidance & support. That's the story they started out to tell - not how a chhoti si Bondita is perfect bahu material and mahaan in saving her Sampoorna didi and forgiving her Mami.
Now, the story has to move ahead obviously but their TRPs are good, and so they are making a less-than-10-year-old act like the typical ITV bahu - the kind of screenplay & dialogues they've given her starting from Brijwasi track: most 10-year-olds just cannot keep a secret in reality, chaahe jiske bhi kasam Khaaya ho, unlike the way they showed mahaan Bondita not telling Anirudh the real reason behind her helping Brijwasi even after he asked he so many times - that was such a cliched ITV bahu "majburi" - supposedly self-sacrificing and lying and taking blame to "save" someone else while tarnishing her own self and wellbeing & her husband's feelings/reputation/family etc.
"yaadein leke jaa rhi", "dil kyun dhadak rha", "feeling" that her pati babu had reached heera mandi, wiping unshed tears and hiding that she's sad in front of Tara bai, her ott dialogues asking her mom to forgive Mami and the whole scene while meeting and asking Trilochan kaka to bless her, the symbolism with her entering the house like a grown-up bahu, her doing all the aadarsh bahu's work in the haveli, she and others repeatedly saying that she's "achhi patni", "kushal grahani", ... I mean which 10-year-old in 1915 said I want to prove myself as "achhi patni" and "kushal grahani" 😒 these could have all been done by toning the "bahuness" down by a LARGE extent - both in dialogues, screenplay and in expressions on screen.
This is my humble opinion. There are many other instances where it seems a bit off too.
The truth is they'll not bring a leap till their TRPs are good. The moment TRPs start telling a slightly different story, they'll turn upside down with the story, characters, actors, etc.
However, by then, it shouldn't become too late for the whole show to catch up. People might have lost interest by then and may not accept the change - which has happened many times in the past and which is what happened with another period show on Colors few years back. The show shut shop within 2 months after the leap only because they had run for far too long with the child actor. So much unnecessary dragging without moving the actual story forward only because TRPs were good with the child actor. So there was hardly any interest left in the audience after the leap, even though the adult actors were great in acting and even though there was so much left in the real story to be told.
And anyway I'm of the opinion that shows should be finite - they should run for a maximum of 200-300 episodes and no more. That itself is a lot. Simply dragging and the audience not making a DISTINCTION BETWEEN the ACTOR and the CHARACTER will only result in the story going haywire! And whether one likes to agree or not, the story is always the real hero in any artistic work. Everyone can happily disagree, but these are just my opinions. Thanks.
Considering the girls of that era ,I think it is fine except forgiving Mami, was a little bit ott!Originally posted by: HahaHeheHuhu9

Yeah, as I said, that's your opinion and I respect that.
And yes, forgiving Mami was definitely ott. Many other things as well are, but given that it's a very unpopular opinion here, I'd rather not go too much into it.
But I do know of people who got married while still a teenager in that era, but the girls still remain a child and act like a child only in their sasural! Many times, they may even become a mother but will think, speak and behave like a grown-up child because they will only be 17-18 years then!
They don't start exhibiting bahu-like behaviour within a year of getting married while still being around 11-12 years of age.
There are many examples from Bengali literature itself!
Anyway, if the opinion of majority of the audience is that they are okay with making a 10-year-old act like the typical ITV bahu, then, the makers will do so till their TRPs are good!
And please don't get me wrong - I like the show and more than that, I like the story that they said they wanted to narrate! It's all from a place of good intent towards the beautiful tale of the characters and the story that I am expressing my unpopular opinion.

In her case I'm *irritated forever* 🤣
