Saif Ali Khan: I’d like all my children to be in Bollywood

Ibrahim has appeared on a magazine cover with Sara as well as in a photoshoot for a clothing brand. Saif had earlier said that he wants Ibrahim to finish his university education before he dabbles in acting.

Talking to Spotboye, the actor said, “Ibrahim seems prepared for a career in acting. And why not? I’d like all my children to be in this profession. It is the best place to work in. I remember at 17-18 I was a mess. Acting saved me from self-destruction. Having the job, the sense of identity it has given me and the job satisfaction and the enjoyment it has given me are more than I could ask for.”

He was earlier asked if he is planning to launch Ibrahim. “I don’t know if I will launch him. It’s an option and films are certainly a viable career choice for him. He’s sporty and likes the idea of being in the movies rather than pursuing an academic job. No one in the family, with the exception of his sister (Sara Ali Khan), have been interested in the latter anyway.”

He had said that his only advice to his son was to be well prepared. “It’s a different universe now, with different benchmarks. I would tell him to be well prepared and choose his films carefully.” Ibrahim is Saif and Amrita Singh’s son. Saif is also expecting his second child with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan; they have a son, Taimur, together.

This is why BW is nepotistic. 🤔

I wonder how much options do next gen star kids have in variety of roles they can do with their costars coz almost everyone is related to one another..

I was wondering, if they didn’t get into Bollywood, where would they go? It comes easy to them and there isn’t anything else where they could make THAT amount of money so effortlessly? Why tread difficult waters when they don’t have to. Most people in our country are like that. Few break barriers.

Casteism prevalent in India from times in memorial is occupation based. The mindset is ingrained in our heads.

We know this already.

If he wants to join films, nothing wrong in that. They can get more opportunities, understandable. Outsiders should have the equal opportunities too to show their talent. A time was there when producers would introduce totally unknown faces to us in films. I want to experience the same things happen in bollywood again.

Bring in total unknown talents with loads of talent.

I remember Saif didn’t want Sara to pursue acting he wanted her to utilize her education and work o. Wall street and look at how the tables have turned now. Of course Sarah is making way more by being an actress. Saif obviously wants his kids to steer where the money is!

Struggle and hard work would also be MUCH more.

Playing for international cricket or any sport team requires lots of hard work and dedication. You don't have the option to slack around because you have to perform in the field against players of other countries and nepotism ain't saving you there. Your skills are there for everyone to see. No retakes and PR can't make you look like a good player if you are bad.

Unlike nepotism beneficiaries who get direct entries into films, cricketers slog since childhood and yet their place in the international squad isn't guaranteed because the competition is insanely high.
