Oh an update, in voot subtitles they are clearly calling the Cheel eagles, so that clears all our doubts, she is actually insulting the vaishnavites here, by showing eagles as devil worshippers.

I guess it is ambiguous because she has not bothered to clarify whether she is going by the book meaning of the word or is she going by a lay person's definition which varies as you said. I want to see a better shot of the bird in the show to make a conclusion on this. Let's hope the vfx improves. In season 3, it was pretty clear what she meant by giddh. She mentioned some habits and the physical appearance was also of a vulture so there was no confusion. Let's hope she does the same here or just gives a clarification.

Its a fiction show bettee we dont make it complicate. There is a reason we have those disclaimers which says nothing resembles to real world and just a pure work of fiction which is to be enjoyed only and not to find parallels with real world.

That’s the same as excusing the makers of PK for insulting lord Shiva.

So far in Naagin series, they are shown honoring the snakes and lord Shiv so I feel they should do the same for the Garudas and they’re actual deity.

In voot the subtitles have clearly translated cheel as eagles, plus those cheels look like eagles too, So now there is no confusion, she is actually insulting the Garuda clan.

No freaking way plus Garud clan don’t need the naag mani, they are the defenders of Amrit, which is something the Nagas have laid their eyes on since eternity. So showing the eagles or any bird who clearly hail from the Garuda clan as evil is distasteful.

Moreover even if the deity is fictional, how can they call a deity shaitaani or satanic?

No lord Garuda is not defenders of amrit. He just taught a lesson 2 snake clan excluding adi sheshnaag & responsible 4 snake clan tongue slitting in 2 . Snake clan made his mother their slave , in order to free her they demanded amrit. He brought amrit & freed his mother from slavery but never handed amrit 2 them as he returned amrit to lord Indra . Amrit is under lord Indra's protection.

Arun & Garuda r 2 brothers , Garuda dedicated himself to lord Vishnu & arun. Serves lord Surya.

Garuda never had problem with adi sheshnaag .

Then why is he depicted as the defender of Amrit in pop culture? In Vignaharta Ganesh, they showed Garuda as the guardian of Amrit, even the show Mahakumbh did the same thing.

U know na how serial manipulate things . U urself think what lord Garuda has 2 do with amrit when he has dedicated himself to lord Vishnu. If u see even lord Vishnu is actual protector of amrit coz he saved amrit from asurs after samudra manthan by taking Mohini avtàr. Amrit was given to devtas, so it's under protection of lord Indra

Garuda saving amrit from snakes is a very popular story as Garuda & snakes r step brothers.

Lord Indra gave boon to Garuda that snakes will be his food
