Chapter - 3
When Anirudh came from washroom Bondita was all decked up with the jewelries kaka had given. She was looking like a new bride, getting ready for the reception. And Anirudh blushed with the thought. The heavy jewelries were contrasting with her fair skin and made her look like a goddess.
Bondita sensing his intense gaze lowered her head blushing heavily. And embarrassed, Anirudh smiled to himself. He then moved towards her and just to tease her brushed his hands with her and picked the perfume from the dressing table making her shiver.
He loved the effect he had on her, as it made his heart flutter with happiness. Bondita tried to avoid his gaze and instead picked the sindoor box from the dressing table to fill her mang.
But Anirudh held her hands and taking the box in his hand filled her mang himself. Bondita closed her eyes too overwhelmed to say anything. And unable to resist himself Anirudh kissed her forehead just beside the red smudge.
And at the heat of the moment with her racing heart beats don't know what overpowered her but Bondita just hugged him keeping her head in his heart. Anirudh was still for a moment but then hugged her back. They fitted perfectly in each other's arms as if made for each other.
But they broke the hug soon feeling awkward to look in each other's eyes. And Anirudh asking her to come soon headed out of the room.
Bondita's heart were still beating rapidly. She looked at her face in the mirror and touched her forehead remembering him filling her mang. And the hug, how could she hug him like that, was she mad. She couldn't understand what had happened to her at that time. Then she smiled remembering how her patibabu behaved in the room. She could feel their relationship is changing and it made her happy.
She has seen many couples in her college and has seen her friends friends going on date, sharing experiences but Bondita was always far away from that and why wouldn't she be??
Her heart belonged to someone, who was miles away from her at that time. Yes her heart belonged only to her patibabu. From the time she understood the meaning of love she has loved her patibabu.
And as a teenager at that time her heart yearned to get that love back too. But she knew her patibabu, his 1st priority was to make her a barrister and to fulfill his dreams she studied hard and graduated as a gold medalist.
Bondita didn't had a lot of friends, she lived a confined life in London. Except study she used to spend time with herself and her favourite hobby was to reread all the old letters of her patibabu and that has always motivated her.
She has always behaved as a happy and childish girl but deep down in her heart there were many hopes and dreams. Dreams of a happy life with her patibabu. She knew her patibabu was shy and won't open up easily specially in such matters but seeing his behaviours there were new ray of hopes for Bondita.
She felt, he is not the same patibabu of hers who would only guide her and scold her but now will love her too as she loves him and she blushed with these thoughts.
Anirudh was again in the study, thinking about what just happened in the room, how did he got the courage to kiss her and that hug from Bondita it was unexpected.
That hug means she too has feelings for him. And thinking this made Anirudh immense happy. Anirudh looked outside in thoughts and asked himself, "sach mein kya pyar karta hun mein Bondita se" and his heart gave him the answer.
Yes why didn't he understood it before. He loves her and from when he too didn't had the answer. This happiness of his lied in Bondita. That peace and solace he felt was only being with her. Som and Batuk too understood it but he didn't. How could he be so dumb and he laughed at himself.
It felt weird actually, he loves his wife but thats what his relationship has been with her. Then he remembered Som and Batuk's words and he too felt it's high time he should confess it to her. And he thought tonight would be the perfect opportunity. Thus he decided after the party gets over he would take her to terrace and pour his heart infront of her.
Then they together would start another new chapter of their life and he blushed at these thoughts. He didn't felt as a 29 years man but a teenage boy wanting to say I love you for the first time to her girlfriend.
Yes love makes everyone to behave in such weird ways.
The party had started the guests were arriving one by one and all were in aww seeing Roy Choudhury Mansion as it was decorated so gracefully, all thanks to the younger sons of the house. To start the party kaka asked Batuk to call his dada and boudhi and when he was heading upstairs found Anirudh on the way thus asked him to bring Bondita along.
Anirudh headed to his room and saw his Bondita staring at the mirror and smiling to herself. So to shift her attention he fake coughed and said, "pata hai bahut sundar lag rahi ho lekin jaldi chalo der ho rahi hai." Bondita blushed and came out and and both descended down the stairs shifting everyone's attention towards them.
Inside the house that was infront of the Roy Choudhury Mansion, a lady was there sitting in front of the mirror getting ready, decked up in a heavy saree and jewelleries looking beautiful but the glow that used to be on her face was lost. She gave a cunning smile, looked at herself in the mirror and said to herself, "wapas a gayi hun mein Anirudh, tumhari Mini wapas agayi hai, phir Bondita k paas rehene ki kya zaroorat hai tumhe?? ho gayi na tumhari zimmedari puri..
Suna hai jashn mana rahe ho tum, phir ish jashn mein shamil hone ka hak toh Soudamini ko bhi hai, akhir nimantran patra toh humare ghar bhi aya hai"
But someone was scared on sending his daughter to Roy Choudhry Mansion and it was Bhoumik babu. Years ago after all the humiliation she faced he didn't want the history to repeat itself. After Soudamini's fake blindness drama was exposed nobody wanted to see her face the villagers asked her to leave Tulsipur and she was staying in Calcutta since then.
But now she is back, back to create trouble in the paradise and Anirudh and Bondita.
Anirudh and Bondita were there standing near the stairs with everyone's eyes on them when kaka asked them to take durga maa's blessings first and then join the party.
Bondita lightened the diya and joined her hands to pray with Anirudh standing near her and adoring her. Bondita smiled at him shyly and was about to leave when Anirudh held her wrist and said in a deep voice,"mujhe tumse kuch kehena hai Bondita"
And then went close to her and said in her ears, "kuch nehi bahut kuch kehena hai...
Aaj party khatam hone k baad mujhse milne terrace pe ana"
With this sudden confession Bondita turned and looked in his eyes. But the intensity of his gaze burned her but seeing her silent Anirudh asked with a urgency in his tone,"aogii na tum"
And Bondita nodded her head shyly blushing to deep shades of red.
