Decline in Bhai's fandom is the reason behind Varun's low. He was Bhai fans' backup host. Fans are mostly like parasites: Phalta phoolta host pe baith ke vicariously powerful hona chahte hai.

People in India need to stop idolizing actors/actresses as if they are incarnations of deities and simply accept or reject characters in films. It works that way for other film industries and other countries/cultures. For example; films like Star Wars, Avatar, etc... that even if unknown or covered by a costume, people appreciated the character that is being portrayed rather than the person and the films go on to become huge money makers and extremely popular ventures, not only with the theatrical release but with the merchandize offshoots that create the bulk of the large capital made from and of the characters. Another good example is the 007 film series that has had at least 7 leads performing the role of James Bond and almost all have been a success. Yes! people do have actors that they prefer or like but in general the characters are what is appreciated by the mass, so people go see a film because it is a sequel of a series they like, and judge it accordingly. In India people go see a film because so and so is in it. That places a huge responsibility on the actors in India because their fans expect them to be perfect and always 20 years old....they are neither, they are simply humans playing a role in a fantasy. In the USA people are very aware that the actors are human and full of defects and vices and all kinds of kinks, that is why no one really pays attention when a liberal actor gives their political or personal opinion, nor are they surprised when one of them commits a crime or does a good deed. They are just people doing what people do....
