OK ! I have two objections. How can prescription drugs be illegal ? They are prescribed by doctors to treat very important ailments. Antidepressants are prescription drugs? But for people with severe depression here is no other cure even counseling takes time to have an effect. Without antidepressants/prescription drugs, depressed people can’t get out of bed, don’t feel like eating and end up losing weight to the point they can’t function.

Secondly the Nirbhaya minor def deserved to be held accountable by law to some extent. But I don’t believe in holding minors accountable for non-violent offense like theft or drug possession. They should be asked to community service or research assignments everyday for sometime about what they did wrong and why it was wrong. That is one piece of legislation I helped write with one of my state senators, Senator Eldridge. Research shows if you give a kid a criminal record for a minor thing the chances of them spending their entire life in crime increases. Why because they have no other alternative? They can’t get into a good college due to this criminal record or get a good job.

Same goes for punishment in school. Hitting them as a punishment won’t teach them much in the long run. It might temporarily stop them from misbehaving because they don’t want to get hurt. But if you really want to teach them something I would advocate for the same type of punishment. When I was working in a high school as a teacher, I was harassed by a 15 year old boy. NOTHING PHYSICAL! He would do things like whistle at me, play romantic music oh his phone and pretend like he was singing it to me, throw me fly and kisses or make other inappropriate noises or come in way when I was walking to try to block me. The punishment he got he had to stay after school every single day for two months to do research on sexual harassment and how it can traumatizes the women. He went and talked to actual sexual assault survivors and interviewed them about how painful the experience was. He performed community service for them like bringing their lunch for them or cleaning up the facilities. He never disrespected me ever again. In fact when I was walking home. He was also walking with another friend. All he said was, “Hello Madam, I hope you have a nice day.” I could have simply slapped him it wasn’t going to teach him anything in the long run. I hear till this day he has never disrespected any other woman in school.

I have been wondering why he and his gold digging girlfriend been so vocally immune to morality this entire time. Rhea was Shibani’s friend. Did they plant her ? They have ties to Dawood. They are very well connected. Kangana said Javed Akhtar told her if she doesn’t apologize to Hrithik the government will ensure she faces some serious consequences. The Dawood connection got Javed Akhtar a job on some airline board ?
