Whose stardom is the most organic, non-manufactured and real?
We know stardom can be of two types - organic and manufactured. For e.g. - Salman Khan has organic stardom and Alia Bhatt's is of the manufactured kind.
Which of these Gen Y actors boasts of the rawest, most organic, and powerful stardom? One that literally exists irrespective of ups and downs? One that doesn't need to scream from the rooftops and doesn't require elaborate PR and media nexus to manifest itself?

Ayushhmann.
He can pull audience even while playing a bald guy.
Ranbir needs a good director,
Ranveer needs PR.,
Varun needs 90s remake,
Tiger needs action,
and Kartik needs link ups with co-stars to stay in news or sell their films and image of stardom to the audience. Ayushhmann doesn't need these superficial things to sell his films. He's not the biggest star among them. In fact in stardom he's only ahead of Kartik, but that's because his fan-following is organic. Not standing on PR, a particular genre or paid media.

Very well written 👍🔥
Unfortunately, Ayushman is not a star. He is an actor.
A star for an average Indian theatre audience (not the multiplex visiting keyboard warriors). Has to be larger than life. Someone they look up to. Someone they want to be. Not someone they already are.
By playing the typical common man Ayushman cannot be a star.
When salman (a non actor) plays a small town man he still makes him believable larger than life chulbul pandey.
However crappy dabang series is. It still provides escapism that an average b and c centre audience wants.
Till the time Ayushman comes with a role where he is able to play a believable larger than life role, he will have mediocre success.
And Ayushman will have bigger problems going on, because now even b and c centres have OTT. And then there is corona.
He has to do a star wala role to become a star.
Ranbir hasnt done one either.
Ranveer has done with Bajirao and Simba.
Varun understands that is aiming for it with Judwa and Coolie no 1. But they are remakes unless he comes up with original star movie, he will not cut it either.
Shahrukh had DDLJ and Darr to make him one.
Ayushman needs a DDLJ too if he cant do a dabang of his own ofcourse a 2020 version, the old one wouldnt cut ice.
Tiger Shroff. Usne woh Bachchan/Sunny Deol/Salman Khan ke market ko gher liya hai. The masses. When his films will work, they will work big time. Massive blockbusters. Masses are loyal, Classes support good work. So when he makes good films he'll get massive footfalls.

How can you compare Tiger Shroff with Amitabh Bachchan?
😲
The problem is that Ayushman is not a star. Half of the indian don't even know his name. Also he does the same repetitive acting , same accent , same expression ( not Article 15) . The other night i was watching Gulabo sitabo and you can literally predict what Ayushman will do next. The amount of overacting he did in Subh Mangal Zyada Savdhan 😵

People who live in metros and write on india forums and think only content driven movies with a proper story and acting are good movies. Who mock KJo and Bhansali movies as gloss and think salman movies are for the brain dead
b and c center audience?
People who do not live in metros, who walk into a movie theatre to be entertained. They need glamor, gloss, foot tapping numbers, amazing fight scenes and action.
They see Ayushman in Bala and they see themselves.
Which is fine on TV at home to laugh over in private. But is not something they want to spend atleast a few 100 bucks on and then watch the whole theatre laughing at..
Btw this is anecdotal feedback of a friend who saw Bala. He is from meerut. He is bald. He said loved Ayushman, so did many of his friends. But he and they absolutely refuse to watch Ayushman in theatres.
They are studying, dont have money to splurge. A movie to make them go all the way to the theatre has to be paisa vasool and most importantly, not remind them about their daily life or show people laughing at that
😕
