They won't. They never will. They worhsipping of whites or colonizers is still heavily influenced by the Indians. Just look at this comment section, they think painting a black face isn't racist or offensive.

There are so many movies where you can see blackface and I have no idea who thought it's a good idea or who approved of that.. Bollywood has always been racist and colorist. in this video there are many examples of the same

I don't understand this cultural appropriation and black-face chutiyapa, unless it's offensive.

Unless it's offensive? No blackface always offensive, no matter what context is

So many offensive things are being normalised in our society that ppl will justify anything and everything saying but that wasn't the intent

Yup, desis are actively passing, voting, and particiatping in anti-blackness in America. There are desis that are activetly pushing agenda to make sure that African American, Latino, and Hispanic kids aren't near their brown/white kids. e.g. They are the privileged immigrant. My uncle owned a store in a majority black community. He also owned a house there as well. He would routinely follow black people when they shopped in the store. Back in the 60s, desi's weren't allowed to own the houses in white suburbs, but as soon as they climbed the ladder, they bought a house in the whitest of the whitest neighborhood.

I dislike conservatives desi's the most in the US. The trump administation is full of them. They are anti-muslim, anti-LGBTQ, and anti-black.

*ladder not latter, lol.

lol, mate, black people do the same, when they become successful, they get the hell out of the crime infested ghettos and move in to safer middle class areas, and if you're living in a majority white country, whites will be more represented in these areas.

What's wrong with that?

You can argue that the moviemaker's "intentions" were not rooted in racism against black people but not feeling racist while engaging in the practice of blackface does nothing to justify it. Black people's appearance is not "funny" or comical and anything that perpetuates a practice that started off as a mocking portrayal of black people is hugely offensive and should be condemned. The moviemaker's intent is irrelevant here.

I wouldn't assume that people who fail to see how it offends people are racists. But if some people can brush it aside, they either don't understand the gravity of the situation or have little knowledge of its history.
