Yes, that’s unfortunately true! The more gory the incident is, does get reported the attention that it deserves. Imagine it has to beat the Nirbhaya incident to feature in Prime time news debates.

Castration doesn't stop anyone from raping again since it's about power not sex. Not to be graphic but a penis isn't needed for rape. Actually being caught, tried and given at least decades in prison would be a deterrent - but how much fear is there of that for most? Sadly, not much.
