NCB thought they can spook some big BW celebs by releasing rumours via Timesnow and Republic like Rhea and some of the arrested drug peddlars gave names of 25 A-list actors who consumes drugs. Saw everyone and their mother coming up with the names of the alleged 25 actors and circulating them on whatsapp and SM so don't know if the list was released by NCB to frighten the BW stars. Some channels were doing Blind items on the alleged drug habits of stars and calling them drug addicts and whatnot on their channels. Some other celebrity mouthpieces like Kangana was naming actors.. Maybe NCB thought by doing all this drama the BW folks will start panicking and do something like throw away their drug stash, get some politically influential businessman or politician to call up NCB on their behalf or do some thing that might let them get busted with drugs. But I hardly saw any of the bigwigs panicking most were either holidaying, shooting, dubbing films/ads... Then NCB caught a lead via Jaya Saha, a talent manager at Kwan, who was being interrogated for procuring CBD oil for Rhea. Whatever incriminating chat she had on her phone was leaked...To instill more fear in BW I presume, more news reports start coming out there more incriminating texts more big name actors will be named. But that all seems like hogwash fake news. Then the head honchos of Kwan were getting summoned. Channels like Timesnow and Republic in the glee that a big fish was getting caught reported without fact checking that Salman owns stake at Kwan so like other stakeholders he will likely get summoned too.

All these media leaks were to spook BW people but the media outlets reporting the leaks were the ones who got played.

How I wish media showed enthusiasm in crucifying the manishavallmiki rapist or the series of dalit abuse. Of course it is not glamorous enough to grab the attention. But isn't it the job of media to sensitize the issue ?

Just saw the update that she didn’t make it :-( In this century, to still have casteist play a role to prove a point is disgusting.

Me thinks they got orders from some higher ups.... to tone it down. May be they felt that the actresses were getting public sympathy by this fiasco.

That Farm bill distraction worked fine. Now they will pull something from under the hat to keep this alive for next 6 weeks. Next move from NCB is critical. Will they finally be able to call out male actors?

I can understand media doing these cheap tricks, but never expected an national agency to act like an cheap tabloid network.

They got overexcited thinking they could nab someone from BW but they aren't going to get even a B or C lister. The channels got taken for a ride by the NCB and used by to try to scare the industry. They thought someone might incriminate someone else in panic. Even two days ago, they had started hinting that 5 male actors were just about to be named and names like Shahid and Hrithik started circulating.

Instead, everyone was living their lives either vacationing, celebrating birthdays or launching their new work.

The media has shifted to 24/7 SSR coverage again acting as if the rest of BW doesn't exist. They know they have nothing.

They were trying to trap some A-list star, I guess... Like how Krishti Prasad was pressurized to name Kjo just because he associated with Dharma for one project. Even Jaya Saha gave those texts only to save herself. Most A-listers most likely will have a under the radar method to procure drugs without involving their managers and assistants at their talent management firm. The Kwan drug angle seems dead angle since no reports are coming out about new actors getting incriminated or named.
