What Sushant's family did is based on typical Indian mentality mixed with greed. Their raja beta could never be publicly seen as depressed or suffering from mental illness. He's too smart to for that. He could never do drugs on his own - it had to be the evil witchy woman in his life who forced him to do it. How dare he take the witch on a vacation with him or help out her brother for college expenses? All money should only be spent on his jealous sisters, not on the wife or girlfriend. You see this type of stuff happening in half the joint families in India - these moms and sisters get jealous when the man spends money on his own wife and god forbid if he is nice to his in-laws. They will keep on poking and creating problems.

The very first thing they ran to file a case about was the 15 crores they suspected Sushant got for a movie. The 15 crores that never existed.

They caused a tamasha to get a CBI inquiry and now that the CBI is also leaning toward suicide, they are bashing them through their lawyer too.
