Agree Priya, I too cannot trust him anymore whatever others say.
One more point this story revolves around 1915. Then though British people accepted friendship between girls and boys,bI don't think they accepted married men spending time alone with another single lady. I have read many old British novels but I didn't see they accept such things.
Nowadays it might be like that. We all know it but there's a word for such affairs .
Here Ani cannot point any finger at Bondita as he is too wrong .
Whatever reasons he was giving kaka, it was absolutely rubbish, not even today people are comfortable to let there partners spend time with there ex who are still attracted to them. Here Bondita doesn't even know anything near the truth about her husband and Mini's past relationship, so Anirudh is beyond the redemption part. He is clearly keeping his life partner in dark.
Just remember when KAka was trying to explain Bondita the reality and also how she should keep Anirudh in check, she was not able to understand. she is too innocent and wont understand until she is directly told. Even KAka was feeling bad for Bondita and wanted her to know the truth or somehow keep her husband in check.
PS. Yes today we are comfortable with opposite sex but this (keeping ones partner in dark and keeping their ex company who is not hiding there interest in you and are flaunting it in everyway possible) is wrong. Anirudh is wrong! What he needs, a neon sign from Mini that she wants him? He's blind, he's deaf and he's stupid!
Just my POV though.
