It was today that I came across the sad news that the show is going off air. Even though I stopped watching it months back, a part of me felt disheartened. 😭
Last year when I was at a bad place mentally, I happened to watch a clip of the show on Instagram that caught my eye. The music "Dheere Dheere" got me binge-watching the show in an instant. The show had aired for only 2 weeks and it was easy for me to catch up. After watching, I got so immersed in the show's plot and characters that I googled them. Back then I had no idea that something called as "IndiaForums" even existed. So, when I finally clicked on the link which led me to IF, I was taken aback. A whole new world existed. I read the discussions on the threads and after having been an observer for a week or so, I decided to make an account.
I made my first post after much speculation on my end and surprisingly, everyone welcomed it with warm greetings in the form of comments. Soon, I happened to see members who were regular on the forum. Eventually, they became my online friends. I would wake up everyday just to watch the show and interact with them. The discussions were not only interesting but also enlightening. However, what was even more meaningful about our interactions was how we all laughed, cried, admired and celebrated our love for the show together. Our forever hatred for BigBen, our annoyance over MeenuKaMunna and our undying love for Mishbir was something that brought us together. 🤗
I still remember it was one of the discussions on the Bromance AT where Mridhu, Meen (meen123) and I happened to write a few dialogues as a joke and somehow, it caught the attention of the members of this forum. We would write more such dialogues in various scenarios. Later on, Uru (Onyourface) also joined us and she was basically the tadka to our daal. Eventually, Anu (Coolwonder) joined our tigdi and that's how the Nautanki team was formed. 🥳
One of my favourite phases of being on this forum was when Shweth was about to be introduced in the show. I remember we had written so many nautankis on her entry. (Meenakshi's dialogue from one of our nautankis: Main apne parivaar ke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hoon, pub bhi jaungi. 🤣) However, when Palak Purswani was introduced as Shweth, our nautankis took a much more funny and interesting turn. Uru would always write Shweth's dialogues (Atra-Tatra-Savatra) and would use this opportunity to flirt with Abir. The wedding Nautanki is probably one of my favourites because we had written it with much precision. Our imaginary creation of the character named Sourav was the cherry on top of the cake. ☺️
Besides writing Nautankis, I remember we had conducted a poll for YRHPK Awards. Reading daily live updates by Diya and Sutapasima, fanfictions (especially of Vaishu (earlier vdssp and now Mishbirstruck), ShenzK and Srilotus) and thought-provoking threads by Pali (SheThought) used to make my day! Forming theories (Nanko is gay) with Gayatri (Guy3) was so much fun! Discussions with Samyukta, Jayati and Dotslover would make the experience wonderful.
Eventually, life took precedence and I couldn't make time for watching the show or interacting with my online friends. I tried to come back a few times but again, life would just not let me do so. Life would go on and somedays, just to feel the warmth of this forum, I would visit it just as an observer. I always hoped that maybe, if sometime in future, if I happened to watch the show again, I would be active on this forum. However, after reading the disheartening news today, I knew that after this show gets over, all these people that formed a part of my life a year back would disperse and I may not be able to interact with them again.🥺Hence, I am writing this post here just to THANK YOU all, each and every person that welcomed me with open arms, showed their kindness and made me feel better when nothing else and no one else could do so. I may have missed out some names, pardon me for that. But I truly cherish all of those moments spent with y'all! Even to the new members who don't know me or haven't interacted with me, thank you for being a part of this amazing forum that is so heartwarming and inclusive! Some may have been inactive on the forum just like me, so I can just hope that they get to read this post. I don't know if this will be taken down but I just wanted to give a personal account of how the show gave me wonderful IF friends that I normally wouldn't have been able to form. Living true to the name of the show, it taught us that Yeh Rishtey (between IF Members) Hain Pyaar Ke! ❤️
