Srk's movies have repeat value and good songs so SRK.

Akki is not same league. Salman and SRK maybe and Aamir. Akki is a big star, not at that level. Pure commercial, masala is Salman like Rajnikanth in south.

I must clarify- with all of Akki's problematic behaviour, he is immensely likable on screen and does a good job of his roles. But essentially the kinds of movies he makes- medium level budgets, easy cost recovery and MASSIVE MASSIVE support from the govt. He picks Modi-friendly topics like Swachh Bharat and nationalism which means the IT cell all over the country combine forces to pump his film, under guidance of that vile Reshma Shetty.

Having said that, I dont absolve SRK''s shitty film choices of late. He needs to get his mojo back

But on his best day, he blows everyone out of the water with sheer charisma and star power alone.

In the history of film, the rulers of the silver screen will be seen like this :

Dilip Kumar :1940s and 50s. Sheer acting prowess but also public adulation

Rajesh Khanna, : 60s and mid 70s with crazy, never been seen before mass hysteria

Big Big : 70s to mid 80s- again crazy levels of stardom which has endured to this day

Late 80s there was a lull with Anil, Jackie, Jeetu all ruling the roost but nobody was no. 1

SRK : Indisputable king from 90s to 2013-14 AT LEAST. By the end he shared the crown with Salman a little, but still Bhai is not as beloved globally as SRK.

Present few years from 2014 onwards- Akki and Salman have shared the adulation but both have received a HUGE boost from ruling govt's support for Akki and Shahrukh's somewhat wavering confidence which has benefited Sallu.

That's simply not true. As much as people wished otherwise, SRK is THE face of Bollywood (along with Amitabh to a lesser degree) everywhere you go- Hollywood, UK, Russia, Canada jsut everywhere.

He's going through a lean phase but he is the absolute gold standard of stardom.

Akki has always been consistent but hasnt seen the kinds of highs that SRK has and looks like he never will because the era of absolute mega stardom is ending.

I vote for Akshay. He started as mainly an action hero and eventually made his place in comedy movies as well. Recently, audience have found him relatable in common man films as well. Personally, I find that Padman is a measure of how much he had grown as an actor.

Unfortunately, SRK seems unwilling to move out of the romantic mould. Chennai Express seemed a move forward with comedy and action but Jab Harry... was back to square one. Zero was opportunity where SRK could connect with the common man but it once again turned into the same old romance.

Akshay was infamous as a womanizer since a long time and he counted more on action for his profession. IMO, the whole Priyanka Chopra fiasco blew up SRK's image (I remember my complete disbelief initially and then utter shock) and most of the audience can't differentiate between the actor and character, I believe this impacted his career as well.

No one is a saint in Bollywood and I have no delusions about Akshay either. I will , however, remember him as a outsider, who built his sucess on disciplined hard work. And his passion for fitness.
