Well I am making this post to pour out my love for ipkknd. It's never too late right? (Not sure till when this forum will be available)

I think it's going to be a long post so bare with me please ☺️

It was the start of summer 2011 when I noticed a man in formal suit entering the lift. (Trust me I didn't know who the hell Barun Sobti was back then)

The girl though, I had seen her. The Star one show fame "Gunjan". (At least I knew Sanaya's one show, never really watched it)

Well the promo!

Image

Some man comes and hits the girl with dramatic effect of papers scattering. She looks at his shoes as he mercilessly steps on the paper and walks away. Still she looks at him with adoring eyes standing beside him in the lift. Then comes the ripped photo scene she's trying to fix "Kaash mai tumse naftrat kar pati" and him trying to crumble the photo "Kaash mai tumse mohabbat kar pata"

Image

"Dekhiye iss pyaar ko kya naam doon - jald Star plus par"

And that's it! I never saw a telecast of this show.

Since I had cable TV at my home, I did end up watching glimpses of Khushi, Lavanya, Arnav, Nani and Anjali. Did not understand a thing and changed the channel. (What I didn't know was that I had missed ASR entry, her falling into his arms, him tearing up the Dori, the first rabba ve, rain scene, teej and so much more)

And then one fine day I heard a beautiful song playing on Star plus. "Jadu hai nasha hai" her pink lips not only intoxicate Arnav but to all of us. Well, even then I didn't watch the show. (Coz I was in 10th standard and this seemed to be too much on TV)

Anyhow, missing out on everything I moved on with my life for another two months. Until I saw a promo of them dancing on "Teri meri". I assumed maybe it's a business party and like a cliche they are going to be dancing. (I being myself missed even that!)

Now you all must be thinking, did I even watch the show or not? Like when it was on air?

So here it goes... Drumroll....

I don't know which day exactly was it but it was around 3-6 in the afternoon. No one was there at home and ipkknd repeat telecast was there. Guess which scene?

It was none other than the Teri meri episode. I thought chalo thoda TV romance dekhte hai. Unfortunately I didn't know I will fall in love at first sight. (Never thought it'll be a TV show, wo bhi star plus🤡)

My journey started! Followed every page on Facebook and tried my best to catch up on all the episodes. Edits, VM, offline interviews- I was following everything.

Honestly, my heart broke when I got to know ASR was married in real life. Ugh! Why damnit!

Itna sundar lagte hai dono saath me, ab ek aur SRK-KAJOL? Later I got to know even Khushi is committed in real life. You know what something inside me changed. Nothing really mattered to me. Jab tak ipkknd hai I can care less about anything else.

I really thought Star plus ka show hai, saalo chalega. I can slowly get addicted to it and detach myself once it starts getting boring. Unfortunately I only had the time to get addicted.

27th November 2012 broke my heart when I saw the disclaimer. Until then I had faith - show won't end and they'll bring Arnav back. (Star plus can give a rebirth to a character right?)

Every thing changed since that day!

Guys, I am just sad that the forum is closing. I will try to make up a post again and see if you could relate to it. Please share your journey of how you discovered ipkknd.

Miss Arshi,

Hello!

Thanks for this post, truly brought in memories for me too.

I can relate so much to your post because my journey has been similar. I'm not a TV person, much less a Hindi serial person. Yes, I had watched shows before IPK but never religiously followed any of them. It was usually restricted to watching an ongoing track and once that finished or dragged too long, I would stop watching.

I had seen 1-2 IPK episodes randomly earlier but around Dec 2011, I caught one of the episodes of Payash marriage track. Liked it and was having some time on hand so just randomly watched the next episode.. and the next....

The poolside kiss scene had me in - till date it is the scene I've rewatched most number of times. And by the time Teri-Meri happened, I was hooked so completely that the only thing which stopped me from watching the previous episodes and becoming a complete fangirl was..... my 10th board exams 🤦🏻‍♀️. Yes, I was in 10th too at that time and the Teri-Meri part (around Jan) was the time of pre-boards in school so the momentum had started for boards.

I decided to focus on exams for two months and once they were over, I would go back and watch all the earlier episodes. That is not to say I stopped watching the airing ones - I couldn't stop that, exams or no exams 🙈😂. And whenever any flashback scene came, I would console myself saying that I'll watch those episodes soon (especially the famous Miss-Kiss of Diwali that was a part of so many flashbacks).

I finally did watch the old ones in my summer break. And used to watch the ongoing airing ones nearly 4-5 times a day - it used to air 5 times throughout the day on Star plus and I usually managed to catch all the repeat telecasts too!! Even the one in the middle of the night (at 3 if i remember correctly)! 🙈😂

And during those times, I turned to IF as well (I'm not FB or any other social media so this was the only place I came / come to). And that's where I discovered this fandom and became a proud part of it. Actually I visited and read posts for long before becoming an IF member around the time of Arshi remarriage track.

At that time, a thread was made to celebrate the marriage track in the show and this motivated me enough to become a member and participate in that thread. But unfortunately it got closed midway because the mods said there was another similar thread (which really wasn't similar 🤦🏻‍♀️) but that was that and I just became a silent member again.

But yes, although silent, I've been around this forum Hamesha (always)! I visit atleast once a day, most of the days more than 3-4 times. It is the last thing I do before sleeping and the forum has become such an integral part of my daily life that I cannot accept the fact that it won't be so in future.

Hence the current campaign and me finally becoming an active (rather speaking) member. And although I'm yet to get a complete response on this, let me just tell you that the current talk with the mods is moving in a positive direction 😃. I cannot say much right now because there is still not complete clarity on a few things. But as soon as I get some puri pakki khabar (validated news) I'll announce it. For now, all I would say is that don't lose hope - I believe we are moving in the right direction ⭐️.

Love,

Stuti

P.S. Thank you once again for this post! Because writing this nostalgic comment has also given me a new idea. The remarriage thread that I mentioned about - well what's stopping us now from making it again? 😉 Let me get to work on this 😃It's anyway September - the timing is good too for celebrating the anniversary of their remarriage. 🥳

Edit : I just saw your note. Let me PM you for that.

Here comes my journey of IPKKND.

I saw the promos and I recognised Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti from previous shows. But I never fully watched either of those previous shows just like everything else. The pair caught my attention and I started watching the serial and soon I fell in love with it.

One day I missed watching an episode. I think it was during Arnav and Khushi's re-marriage track. Shyam in disguise was setting up booby traps all over Shantivan and no one was paying any attention. I was biting my nails to know what happens and for some reason I could not watch the episode. As you know I was already at the edge of my seat, so started searching for it on Yahoo. I was only interested in a video of that episode but internet took me to written updates. Guess what? That site was none other than IF. I read the written update. When I tried to read some previous posts, I could not because they were Members Only posts. I did not want to open an account, so I kept my reading to freely available posts. I stumbled on FFs and again some of them were Members Only posts. The discussions indicated that the stories were very nice. One day I took the plunge and opened an account. Even then I was only reading completed stories which were posted earlier. I was methodically reading from the beginning posts which were posted in June 2011. I did not realise so much was happening in the later pages. By the time I realised, I missed few good stories, which were posted and removed. I Finally I caught up with all of them, I mean all the posts. I can re read some of those posts again and the new content posted by some talented new readers.

Cheers.....

Hey!

I feel like almost all of us have an intersection point. Stumbling into IF was via an Arshi fanfiction. Similar to yours, even I was only reading free stuff.

But then change is constant right?

Here I'm writing posts myself on indiaforums! 😂

Thanks for sharing your journey 🌼

Hello, Thank you so much for this post. I also want to share about my discovery of this little gem which now has a very special place in my heart.

So it was around 2017, my mom and I had gone to visit my sister and found out that she had subscribed for a month long free trial of HOTSTAR for our mom so she would have something to watch during the day time. We hadn't watched any indian shows for almost a decade, ever since we moved to a different country so we had no idea about which show to choose. So my sister randomly chose this one. I didn't really watch any episodes there even if I was in the background. After few days we came back to our town and one day I was at my mom's house, she was watching the show and the scene of Khushi being stuck in the house that was under construction was going on. Somehow it caught my interest and I started binge watching it and finished in almost three weeks.

When I started researching about the show, I found offscreen videos, India forum, and VMs so started devouring those. I use to come to India forum to read the episode analysis, wishing I was around that time so I could have been a part of that fun group. Recently I have started enjoying Arshi FF too. So now I am in that phase. Sometimes I think this Arshi obsession is being a little too unhealthy 🤪 but working towards maintaining a fine balance hehe.

I will try my best to participate in conversations to keep this forum open. I hope we will be able to keep in open and kicking.😃

P.S - Even though it started with a free trial subscription, it looks like now I will be subscribed to Hotstar for life lol....just for Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

It must be different for your country because in India, a portion of Hotstar is free and IPK and all other serials can be watched for free. The paid plans are only for Hotstar specials, movies, etc.

Btw, you can also see this thread once. There are links for all episodes in this thread 😳.

Btw, Thank you for commenting and taking part in the discussion. Hope to see you around the forum more often.

Awww you were quite late... (I feel I was lucky enough to watch it during the in air)

But better late than never right?

So glad to hear you will be subscribing just for ipkknd... The makers will be patting their backs for creating this gem of a show.

Thanks so much for sharing duskydaisy!

Hi,

Yeah I was pretty late, but definitely better late than never. I don't really watch any other serials in hotstar. I tried few but couldn't sit through. Funny thing is I hardly watch any movies or shows twice, but I don't know whats with this show, or what clicked I just love Arnav and Khushi. Barun and Sanaya are fabulous actors. I have watched the show several times. And Barun as an Arnav is a dream .

Regards,

Subha
