I think Jaya Bachan has a point. She is basically saying no to stereotype. Bollywood is a big industry, a lot of people work in it. Just because of x number of people, you cannot hold the entire industry liable. That is unfair.

Its like saying all the hosptials should be banned because there are cases of few doctors from one area killing their patients. There are so many hosptials in India and jobs of innocents which would be wasted because people decided to blame the entire industry. Likewise shunning Bollywood isnt the solution at all.

Jaya B is not defending the criminals or nepotism etc, she is defending her bread and butter, her industry which people like Kangana are not even respecting.

The hospitals, if they at all care about the patient health and safety, as they should, would fire these doctors, their license would be revoked, they would be sent to jail.

BW on the other hand, doesn't care about the criminals in its industry, in fact they celebrate them, reward them, defend them, they are part of the elite.

Jaya Bacchan, and all these other stupid actors/actresses, don't give a flying monkeys about the nameless/faceless people who work in the industry, they are only using them as shield to deflect criticism away from themselves. It is only because the people at the top are facing the heat, and losing reputation and respect, that they are cacking their pants, otherwise until now, they allowed all sorts of shit to happen without any care.

I really dont get these bollywood stars, why they getting so worked up, if people point out the drugsabuse, drugsdealing in the industry. It happens a lot, it is no secret. Why Jaya mam doesnt talk about that, that it needed to be stopped the drugsabuse and drugdealing. Dissapionted, seems Jayaji wants the industry be the same where elite can do whatever they want and get away with it, use drugs or deal in drugs etc... Ohh well i really hope something change, i do feel audience finally see the truth about the ugly place in bollywood of drugsabuse and dealers.

I get her POV and she has a right to say her piece of mind.

But, is she really expecting people to stand up for BW when they couldn’t stand for their own? Look at the way they handled SSR passing away, and the way they continue to suddenly en mass leave the country ( further showing their privilege). Even if you look further back, there is a clear case of favouritism, nepotism, etc., just shows how fickle the industry really is. They make it a point to iterate and prove how fickle and profit minded the industry is. It’s rich that now she is expecting support and to stick by them.

I think problem is arising because everyone is clubbed under one term, Bollywood.. So many stars and actors work in the industry.. it's unfair to deem the whole industry druggies, terrorists, or murderers.. why should everyone be answerable for what a few people do? Questioning actors isn't wrong.. clubbing them all in one group is wrong
