NDTV banning the reason I remember is not w.r.t. government. This one is around 4 Nov 2016. This though was a valid ban.

On 4 November 2016, the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ordered the channel to go off air on 9 November for allegedly divulging 'strategically sensitive' details while covering January's deadly attack on the Pathankot air base. Government scrapped their decision on the ban for reasons not made clear.

A friend of mine lost her uncle... I guess even western media allows no such coverage..

ANd so what the Maharastra Govt is doing right now seems downright idiotic and narcissistic.. Looks like they wanna go for any measures..to stop the coverage.. Ont know what happened to the plea filed by Rhea and other police officers to stop the coverage..calling it a trial
