There are so many different pieces to all of this.... but I remember reading that Amrita wanted Sara to stay far away from Sushant. So maybe something did brew and the mother made it stop

Idk how true that is but that kind of strategy makes sense to be honest. Scripted interview with prepared questions and answers in a whitewashing attempt just a day before CBI interrogation.
