True SSR was not a big star. It costs money to put up such billboards. SSR fans are mostly budget conscious middle class people.

But that whole region of Fremont/San Jose/Silicon Valley has one of the largest Indian American population in the US. It makes sense that SSR's death rattled that population and they chose to pay homage to him in ways they could.

I mean, people blow thousands of dollars on luxury bags just cuz they have money to spend on them. and that's considered "sane" by many. Spending money on a cause they believe in and in this case #JusticeforSSR .... sounds pretty normal to me. If anything, the constant denial that no one sane can support it sounds absurd.

Many Indians deserves this type of government.

This type of celebrity obsession were people are not even concerned about their own country or lives. So many people are suffering and dying, but for some only SSR's family matters. Poor and weak have no place in this country and for government. They are not helping people who are suffering from massive floods, unemployment and corona virus. I even feel these people do not care for their families and friends, like they care for SSR. These keyboard warriors do not need anyone in their life.

They are not Sushant fans. His movies were barely doing anything in the US that his fans would now be buying billboards for him.

BJP LOVES billboards. They paid for a billboard in Times Square for the Ram Mandir and then the Modi Media spread it everywhere as US and New York giving respect to Ram Mandir. As if the anyone in the US mainstream cares about any Ram Mandir or even understands what popped up on the billboard for a day. They just bought it just like any advertising and then did a huge amount of propaganda with it on their friendly news channels.

The Sushant billboards are being used in the same way.

These people look for most traditional girls for their sons in India. They will celebrate their religion more traditionally than people living in India. One of my friend who lived in India never cared for any festivals other than north Indian ones. After moving to USA, he is celebrating any puja or festival on Hindu calendar. Many BJP fans are like this. Some have even wished me on Bengali new year ( they never wished me in India).
