This is not an excuse this is my opinion on this matter, people can show outrage without wasting money through social media unless it's personal for them , billboards is for publicity and it's not going to make a difference on case outcome.

People spend money on all kinds of outlandish and frivolous things, and pay all kinds of idiots a hefty sum of $$$$ just for showing up to their wedding events or parties. Why would they shirk from spending a couple thousand dollars on a billboard for a cause they believe in?!

NRIs might be paying for it but it would be those Overseas for BJP type of people. They're usually all old uncle types. I have one or two in my family that go to their meetings and have dreams in their head about how they are going to move back to India one day to their Hindu paradise. Spoiler: They never will.

They are not Sushant fans. His movies were barely doing anything in the US that his fans would now be buying billboards for him.

BJP LOVES billboards. They paid for a billboard in Times Square for the Ram Mandir and then the Modi Media spread it everywhere as US and New York giving respect to Ram Mandir. As if the anyone in the US mainstream cares about any Ram Mandir or even understands what popped up on the billboard for a day. They just bought it just like any advertising and then did a huge amount of propaganda with it on their friendly news channels.

The Sushant billboards are being used in the same way.

On Republic tomorrow. Hrithik is going to get screwed again. Maybe Alia too. News just came out today about SRK supposedly producing a new movie for Alia so maybe this time him too. 🤣

Hindu paradise? 😆 I guess the nostalgia and wanting to go back home and retire in some farmhouse with a bunch of cows and horses is something that's common among desi uncles in general, but Hindu paradise is unheard of.

SSR was recognized by California State Assembly too for his contribution in cinema and philanthropic community work. Not sure about the process leading up to that recognition but his sister was posting the certificate and expressing gratitude a while back. There are a ton of affluent Indian families in the Silicon Valley including executives of Google/Apple too. Indians are everywhere and if one of them pulled the strings and spent some money to make the billboard happen, why does it have to be some BJP uncle living in some fantasy land? You really can't stand the thought of other sane, rational people putting their money on #justiceforSSR, can you? 😆

A seemingly innocent man's death was covered up suspiciously by a corrupt police department. His issue surpassed bollywood a while back and his well-wishers are not just uncles who dream of going back home to a Hindu paradise as ridiculous as that sounds. A lot of people who didn't even watch bollywood movies were rattled by SSR's death and follow his case closely.
