Genocide doesn't happen all of a sudden. It takes years of hate-mongering and slow formenting of discontent until the right ingredients all come together. It's a slow process and we are right within in where it's become normalized to spew disgusting things on a normal basis. People like Kangana make it okay to make mainstream comments about becoming Nazis, foot soldiers like Arnab slowly brew an atmosphere where the majority is made to feel victimized and attacks on religions and entire groups of people are considered holy nationalism. Fake news is spread continuously to prime the public and brainwash them to push the into thinking a certain way. Look at how that fake Islam interview was spread about Aamir Khan or how a random architect was suddenly turned into an ISI agent. The propaganda is so finely done they actively hid Akshay Kumar hanging out with the same people that they blasted Muslim celebs and other liberals like Sonam Kapoor for.

In Rwanda, radio had a huge part to play in inciting violence between the Hutus and the Tutsis. What do you think TV channels are doing these days? Shouting, screaming, spreading fake news, inciting hate, encouraging self-victimization, demanding nationalism tests and so on. People like Kangana are great spokespersons to put a pretty face on hate.

Look at how it's normal now to say repulsive things that would not have been possible only 5 years ago. Any minor resistance is met with shouts of boycotts and threats to cut off people's livelihoods. They're made to shut up by harassment and being called terrorists, deshdrohis and antinationals.

Meanwhile the self-proclaimed moderates pretend they are in it just for the splendid governance. But they tacitly support all the hate-mongering and propaganda by turning a blind eye to it because it doesn't matter to them. After all, Hitler was a great administrator. We are moderates and we swear we are not hate-mongers but we're fine with hate-mongers being in charge. Because we don't give a sh!t about others as long as we're fine.

She keeps hating on Pak all day but she has no trouble enjoying revenue from the release of Manikarnika in Pak .

Actually it was the Paki actress who jumped on her tweet first.

As for the Pahalgar incident, I believe the narrative turns out that there had been tensions in that area between Hindus and Christian missionaries and some political angle behind it. Hindus aren't in the majority everywhere in India. Where they're not, they are just as vulnerable as any other minority.

Hate mongering and jingoism go on and on until one tiny thing becomes the last straw and violence erupts. Godhra is an example. Can any one of us say all that was done to Muslims in Gujarat was the direct result of that single event of setting that train on fire( whoever did that ) ? India is going through that phase of being readied for a genocide or even a mini genocide with all the hate mongering thats going on . Not that it never happened before but now we have mainstream news channels outdoing each in hate speech or paranoia day after day . Branding anyone who disagrees with the powers that be as 'anti national' ..Pak sympathisers. People are being made to think in terms of Us vs Them .

Thats where Kangana comes in. With her own brand of paranoia . Calling people names for not agreeing with her. Calling people anti national for not being 'patriotic' enough. My country this my army that. All the Bollywood stereotypes of what love for ones country should be like. She oils the propaganda machine that tries to generate hate against Muslims. She tries to play up that narrative of Hindus being the underdog by making random parallels about people from Bollywood being 'ashamed of their own culture". She calls everyone who voices criticism a secessionist. Thats a damgerous trend that had already been going on. Only that Kanganas mainstream popularity as a Hindi film star adds fuel to all this. (Which is exactly why she has been chosen to do this job. She poses as the poster girl for the average middle class Indian who reached great heights but remained true to her roots, her 'culture'. When shes anything but that. Its like a Suraj Barjatiya film..it sells) .

Creating a culture of jingoism and low tolerance for dissent is a recipe for things like genocide. Whether it happens or not. Lets hope it doesnt. The more people get away with yelling dissenters into silence the more they ll indulge in hate speech. And the more difficult it would be to call that out. Before we know we are in deep shit.Kangana does this day in and day out. So she isquite anti national . With her millions of followers spreading the good word.. its a hot mess. This is how Nazism began. I dont think Rangoli Chander knew what she was talking about but she wouldnt mind if Hitler were to rise from the dead as long as he is against the people shes attacking at the moment.

Your post was definitely well-thought out on genocide. I agree that the daily micro-aggression adds up to the point of no return and needs to be addressed before it's too late. But I don't want to comment on Indian politics simply because I don't have the knowledge to engage in a discussion on that front.

At the same time, I'm also not gonna assume that most of the people here expressing their frustrations with KR day in day out are as well-thought out and rational in their outcries against KR. Considering half of them are Hrithik fangirls who go spastic at the thought of them ever having had an affair and their frivolous namecalling and ganging up on those who express dissenting opinions, that's giving them too much credit. They most likely picked up Nazism and genocide somewhere and toss them around casually to give their "hatred" more weight -- by using extreme terms to overstate their opinion against KR. I simply don't find them intellectually honest and that led me to questioning their accusations.

As for Rangoli, the tweet is there for everyone to see and opinions are varied. KR clarified that it was meant for those who attacked the doctors and it does look like an emotionally charged reaction to the perpetrators of that attack. Given her tweet, or at least the choice of words, were wrong, is it okay to continue battering them by abusing the word Nazi and genocide even after KR has denied such intentions? Do two wrongs make a right? Does that not trivialize the experiences of real victims of Nazis and actual genocides in the world? As bad as that tweet sounded, I would also give her the benefit of doubt instead of assuming the worst of intentions along the lines of Nazism and genocide. I like to believe that most of the people are inherently good and when you accuse someone of unparalleled evils, your sense of conviction should at least be in proportion to the level of evidence accessible to the public eye.

What you said about the growing presence of anti-Islam sentiments in India does raise another question in my mind--is there anyone speaking against the hatemongering against Muslims in India? Why is no one in bollywood bothering to address this issue of hatemongering given the massive public outreach that's been bestowed on them by Indian jantaa? Let's assume that KR is actually evil and India is being prepped up for Muslim genocide. Where do the rest of the bollywood celebrities figure in all this? Manipulating public opinion is pretty easy in India if you're a bollywood celebrity. Are they fiddling with guitars while the world around them is burning? Are they not gonna take a stand till their own pants are on fire? What does that say about them? Is silence on this matter acceptable? These celebrities are Indian citizens and vote during elections, don't they? People who spend day and night defending those celebrities such as Alia, Ranbir, Salman, SRK, etc etc should take a look at themselves and question their silence and unwillingness to take a stand too--unless those people are okay with the silence and indifference of these celebrities in the face of such blatant hatemongering which, like you said, is getting worse by the day.

Not sure what position you're taking in this argument, but I'm sure Hindus aren't in the majority everywhere. India is a big country, after all, despite the name Hindustan. When India and Pakistan were at loggerheads last year, I don't know the full details but I'm sure both sides made plenty of unsavory remarks against each other--one isn't any more or less "moral" than the other as far as I'm concerned.

#3 making statements without any evidence seems your forte. "she didnt respond when muslims were killed in riots" WTF does this statement even mean. name one riot where only muslims were killed and i'll show u unicorns

#4 thats where she slipped. she assumed she would be called nazi so defended herself against that presumption before the accusation

your knowledge of "Hitler's Nazis" is laughable ."..by stirring up hate and jealousy against them" LOL calling ranaut sisters nazi is "justified" for them, which planet are you on. rangoli responded to a shameful act by tablighis, they should be ashamed and their defenders equally so if not more, and that includes you and your naked anti-kangana bias

Quoting this only because you might be banned soon. 😆

BJP always had issues with Bollywood. They never like people who never spoke in favor for government.

Do not make personal attacks. I have reported your comment.

And what about the people who oppose the government blindly? Even if someone from BW goes to n event called by govt they r called bootlickers.. BW People openly supporting govt are called Nazis and bigots.. People opposing are hailed as heroes.. And those who stay silent r assumed to be against the govt..

Why so much hatred for ur own country and its government
