True in that way atleast initially both he and Srishti were smart to make conclusions. Srishti's smartness was shown in the way she linked Prithvi to Janki's accident and revival. Both Karan and Srishti are very smart but they are both equally very impulsive and don't think things through which is why their plans end up failing or looking stupid or somehow Sherlyn and Prithvi would have gotten alerted and outsmarted them. Which is why srishti's dumbness has been too extreme in the past few months because she is too impulsive. Initially also she was very annoying but atleast she was clever. And Karan is being smart in making random conclusions which doesn't make sense at all. So yeah I agree with you about his smartness not being shown for the story to proceed. And out of other characters,these people were generally relatively smarter.

Exactly,for the past one year it seems dragged but it was all different points to lead up to the escalation of Karan's anger and hatred. The only part I felt was too dragged was the wedding but then again for the plot point it slightly made sense to see how many people are against the wedding and would stop it. The most dragged track was I guess Monisha's.

I have never actually pondered about this. And I understand you see it differently, which is great! Considering the discussion is already taking place and now that I think about it were the writers of the show really trying to show his intelligence or his impulsiveness or were they just trying to imply the aspect of Fate aka Bhagya in all the things that he managed to discover on his own with constantly being outsmarted or should I say out-fated by Prithvi and Sherlyn?

Because if you believe that Karan was smart enough to lets say investigate an issue such as this on his own, that could mean that all of this that is all the things that he has been shown to be done are a part of his grand plan to finally out-fate Sherlyn? 😳

Other wise it would mean that if he genuinely believes what he believes than he was never really smart enough was he? We would have to take the hints albeit how small they were to mean that he was basically written this way from the beginning and the incessant dragging created a misunderstanding of his persona that was essentially just his Fate aka Bhagya?! 😕

Now that you pointed it out, to me it seems like they showed that he is a smart, impulsive,short tempered, impatient man. Which is a very dangerous combination if you can't balance it out. So in some situations he seemed more impulsive than smart like the ratio of of his impulsivennes was more than his smartness and in some situations he was the other way around. So, in the situations where he was actually smart maybe he didn't get to expose sherlyn and prithvi but he did put a brake on their plans, he didn't make things easier for them. And tbh as deceiving and brutal it is he was smart during the wedding. He made a calculated move that'd destroy two people who according to him ruined his family. So won't say he isn't smart, it's just the other qualities he has that overpowers his smartness at times.

I am not sure that I got you right 😄 I am sorry if I didn't.

But I try to explain what I mean one more time. The thing is that I don't believe that the writers always keeps the characters consistent. I believe that they do try their best to do it but if it is needed they could change the character, the plot, the story, the logic. Everything to prolong the story. Because time is money. As long as the story gains TRPs they get more money. Drama gives TRPs. Yes, there are other options too but mostly drama.

The makers of Kumkum Bhagya said once that between the logic and drama they choose the drama. I don't remember exact words. It was long time ago. But the meaning was like we would do any illogical stuff for the drama if it works. Like they make Mahesh to sit at the wheelchair. Like really, makers? A person in coma should be in the hospital and not attending the wedding. Are the doctors of KDB dumb? No, it's just necessary for the plot. Or Mahira who tried to get up and to call Sherlyn in the room in today's episode. Wasn't there any noise that Sherlyn could hear? Why couldn't she speak? Really, makers? This all are assumptions that the makers do and we accept it as part of the game.

About consistency of the character. For example, Abhi from KKB. There was a track when Tanu and Alia blamed Pragya for infidelity. Abhi was really smart and firgured it out that Pragya was innocent and Alia framed her. Pragya failed to prove her innocence. Abhi investigated the entire thing all alone. Or kidnapping track. Same thing. He was shown smart and sharp then.

There was a track when Pragya came back as a malkin and pretented to be greedy. It was a looooong track, very long 😄 And Abhi was really dumb that time. He got so many hints and doubts but he never.. NEVER... dig it deeper. He just let it go and continued sulking, crying, drinking, shouting, flirting. The makers did him like that purposely. To prolong the track as much as it gains money. Smart Abhi. Dumb Abhi. The makers changed him as they needed.

The villains are always smarter or luckier for the same reason. To prolong the track and to give us drama.

That is why I believe that Karan was smart enough when it was needed to prolong "save Rishabh from Sherlyn" track. But not as smart as villains, of course. And now they forbid him to think because they need to prolong "I hate you, Preeta Arora" track. They will give him back his brains when this track will be about the end. Matlab not very soon😆

And I think that they didn't make Karan to investigate the issue with the photos for the same reason. They need Karan to hate Preeta because that is the main plot now. It gives drama and I don't mind it. I accept their rules that is why I am still watching the show 😁 The thing I was talking about is that they should have done it more convincing. He could try to investigate. Sherlyn could over-smart him again. And again. For example. But he believed immediately. That is why I say that I just accept the fact that he started being angry with her as a given fact. I don't analyse it too much because of the lame scenario.

I am sorry for the long post. I guess it could be the answer for all the members I discussed this topic with😃

I agree with you. When choosing between logic and drama the latter always wins. Yes, definitely there ought to have been a more convincing way of showing things. Considering the revenge marriage was a part of the plot since at least episode 50 and the makers knew that they wanted to bring that track one way or the other. They ought not to have made Karan seem smart?!

However, that was precisely the thing I was pondering about. Because whether or not the makers showed Karan to be smart or not may as well be debatabl, but at the end of the day in terms of his personality traits he was always shown to be stubborn, impulsive and not too far sighted. I mean sure he made a lot of plans, but all of them backfired in some way or the other and half of his over smart plans were the primary reasons for Preeta's humilation.

But as you pointed out if the fact that he did not investigate those photographs further and you deemed him smart enough to beleive that he would. That would mean that there is a probability that all this might still be a plan. Although, I still don't think he'll be successful. 😆

When that "Pragya as malkin" track was shown people in the forum discussed same thing a lot of times. People could not believe that smart Abhi could be so dumb and they were guessing that all things Abhi was doing just because it was his great plan to make a pardaphash of Tanu and Alia. Of course, it wasn't. He was just dumb 😂 No offence to the fans. I love Abhigya!❤️😆

I was merely over thinking. Considering what Abhi did wasn't his plan wouldn't this actually mean that the probability of this being a plan at least at a certain point can be a bigger possibility? And I wasn't thinking about Sherlyn I was thinking it in regards to something else.

I’m sorry but now I’m wishing Preeta had married Prithvi. At least he respected her and would genuinelykeep her happy. I knew a rich boy’s family would stoop low as in-laws in front of a middle class girl but not today in modern day 2020
