WildestDreams and all Slytherins - I think you guys deserve an apology from everyone because you were forced into a position where quitting was the more reasonable decision, despite the fun you all were having. You were always a chill group from the start and I think that levelheadedness is a good approach and a fine quality as a leader, so well done WD - you were an amazing leader.

There was a conversation before Round 1 where we discussed the qualities of Slytherin, and we started highlighting the good characters who were in Slytherin and how the bad characters reshape our perspective. You guys are all the good characters in Slytherins and Salazar Slytherin is most fortunate to have such a wonderful group of wizards and witches in his house.

On behalf of everyone in Hufflepuff, I would like to extend our sincerest apologies to Slytherin for being part of that drama that led to your decision. We had decided to just let bygones be bygones moving forward, but that cannot happen anymore. 😆

I'd also like to take a moment to address the game itself and the aftermath. This is not to create drama, but to share what I learned. Feel free to disagree with me mentally. While this is IndiaForum and these sorts of dramas are typical between fans and whatnot in the BWF and TV show threads, I thought this would have been a fun game because this is a game thread and not a fan group bait post in BWF.

Why did it turn out this way? Maybe we took the game way too seriously, maybe we had our hearts in a good place, but were unable to convey it properly, or maybe we're just like that because it's the internet and we're behind anonymous IDs and we don't give it a second thought to reply or comment something in a toxic manner. That latter one is the most dangerous of all because we're actively engaging in communicating in a form that is detrimental to our own mental health and those we interact with. Words hurt sometimes and especially on an Internet forum where tone, pitch, etc. are impossible to convey, where emotions and responses are hard to see, and where the best defense we have is stinging words ... we get nowhere and we increase our own mental tensions. Further, the folks we interact with also cause us to subtlety change if we notice this behavior is acceptable. I noticed this in myself a few years ago when I used to partake in fan wars (mytho tv serials). The insults we threw were nasty, mods took a while to step in because they didn't want to be part of this (who would to be honest), and the bitter relationships lasted. The point is - it doesn't have to be this way and the solution is as simple as thinking about what you typed before submitting it.

This by no means is absolving or defending anyone. Hufflepuffs (myself included) were part it and so were other houses. Admitting and sharing responsibility is how we grow as individuals and groups. Blaming other people, justifying actions with the imaginary virtue, or even refusing to admit or acknowledge there is a problem is never going to be the solution. This was a game. It should have been treated like a game. Disagreements may happen, but in the end ... it's a game. The taunts that started in Round 1, should have ended in Round 1. That did not happen. That one-sided taunts that happened during Round 2 should not have happened. The taunts that should not have started in Round 3, should have ended in Round 3. Words hurt. You can put a billion smiley faces in front of an insult - it doesn't change anything. An insult is an insult.

I hope Hufflepuffs have learned a valuable lesson in this, and I hope other houses also consider this everywhere they go outside these round threads.

If you read this post and can think of nothing more than this being a personal attack or being a disgrace to my house {while I hope no one in the house thinks of me in this way, I have to mention Hufflepuffs to be fair}, shame on you and grow the f*ck up because you cannot walk through life with this pissy attitude of self-entitlement. This is a forum, we are behind anonymous IDs, but it can certainly change you IRL. I have regretted those months were I was toxic to a bunch of strangers because they did not conform to my or my friends' opinions because I thought it was cool to be mean and rude in the guise of defending. I felt those changes in me outside of IF, and I felt those changes during these last few rounds. It's a struggle to recover, but I think it reinforces us in the end as well. I'm more kinder than I used to be, I've questioned many of my comments before submitting, and I try to make the most of it.

With that all said, I'd like to refocus on Slytherins - you are not quitters. Do not let anyone tell you that you are. You are a House that upheld your beliefs, your ideals, and your virtues. You chose to sacrifice your position in the game for the sake of your House. Whether you were first or last doesn't matter ... there were 5 rounds left in which you could have easily gained top position. Your fate was never sealed at third place and I never believed it would be.

So with that, I would once again like to apologize to you all for forcing this decision and thank you for teaching us all a valuable lesson.

EDIT: okay. There are a lot more posts than when I started writing this. So disclaimer: I started think about and writing this maybe an hour and a half ago or something, so please don't see this as a reply to anyone. This is just what I felt after reading WildestDreams post on Slytherins' decision and Shreya's decision to end the game.

I have already extended my apologies in my post, but I would like to reiterate here again. I am extremely sorry for the people that got hurt as a byproduct of the fights that occurred here.

This was meant to be a fun, fair game, but things were taken too far by everyone involved.

The anonymity, as Shyam as mentioned, does play a massive part in how much freedom we think we have, and how much we can get away with in terms of spreading negativity and toxicity. I too have been a part of this toxicity when I was much younger, and was part of a completely different fandom. Since then, I have learned a lot, but I know that I am still far from perfect. Anger, irritation, annoyance, frustration - these are all valid human emotions that we cannot escape from. We can curb the way we act upon them, but we can't suppress them forever.

All I know is that feelings were hurt a lot yesterday all around which wasn't right.

All can say is that we should all treat this as a learning experience, and take away valuable lessons from it. I won't dictate what those lessons should be, as that should be a personal journey everyone should partake in. But I do hope that we all emerge as better individuals after all of this is over.

Hello everyone! It is now time for the results to be announced. Round 2’s results look something like below. The judges were Devashree (devashree_h), Nirvana (DushtKanya), and myself. I scrapped the bonus points in favour of being a judge as I felt it was unfair to try to choose one story, given both were so good.

Slytherins and Hufflepuffs were awarded 25 points each in the bonus category for division of labour. As Gryffindors dropped out during the game, I awarded the Ravenclaws 40 points in the same category. With those bonus points and with the Round 2 bonus points, the final score looks like this:

As I have ended the game early, there will be no bonus points awarded to Prefects. I did have plans to give awards out, but as I had to end the game suddenly, I couldn’t get awards made. Still, you all can celebrate your awards your own way. 😊

But before the award ceremony, I want to extend a thank you to the judges of Round 2 Continue the Story – Nirvana (DushtKanya) and Devashree (devashree_h). I also want to heartily thank Sandhya (Sevenstreaks) for all her lovely tags and the quick turnaround with these beautiful siggies.

Now I have a few awards to hand out (figuratively speaking). NC tried to give it away early on in the competition, but anyways I managed to keep it a secret.

The first award to hand out is to the Coolest Prefect! This award goes to: WildestDreams! Based on the Prefects and the actions I saw, WD was the most laidback and chill Prefect who never got involved unless I asked for her opinion on something (when I was asking all Prefects).

We then have an award for the Best Owl. Obviously, there was only one Owl throughout the competition, but I must say, she did her job well. Sock-let come on up and get your Owl award.

The next award is for IMM2 Deewani. I mean obviously if I’m going to have a round on them I want to see who becomes deewani. TC_FA and asmaanixx can share this award. The amount of times I’ve seen them talk about VR makes me think they both plan on marrying VR at some point. 😆

The next award is to HP Fan Numero Uno. Again, a split award between Alexia_Wilson, Firebolt, and ProfMcGonagall. Seriously two people have HP names. Like obviously they would win.

I had a couple of other awards planned that would have happened with the remaining rounds and by talking to members, but I had to scrap them unfortunately. They were Most Creative Team (which would be based on your marks in Rounds 2, 4, and 6), Gayab Sadasye (the member from each house that was just gayab the whole time), Most Energetic Prefect (based on what members would have told me about their Prefects), and of course the Best Prefect award (this would have been based on what members told me about their prefects and the notes I had taken on each prefect - the Best Prefect would have walked away with 100 bonus points for their house).

All in all, a big congrats to all the participants! You really made it far and have done it!

Moving on to the actual gist of my post. I would like to show my wholehearted appreciation towards the Ravenclaw team. You guys stood up for what you believed in and didn’t allow other people’s opinions to deter you from questioning your doubts and concerns. People may call it ‘cribbing and crying’, but that’s an easy comment to make as a bystander. I never made any comments about your concerns because quite frankly, it was none of my business. Those questions were raised to Minionite and only she had the answers, because her game her rules. None of these escalated scenarios would have occurred if everyone just allowed them to sort it out between themselves. So quit blaming one team and whitewashing your own mistakes. Everyone should be held accountable for their mistakes, including Minionate herself.

Anyhow, kudos to the patience and resilience shown by the Ravenclaws 👏That’s it folks! I’m outta here 😃

Wishing everyone a happy stress free virtual life! We shall meet again in the BWF. If you miss me then do pop by in every single SRK & Aishwarya Rai related thread. I can guarantee that I’ll be there pressing the poll option multiple times, trying to make my favourites win.
