Were Salman Aishwarya a overhyped pair due to their history???

Why is Salman Khan Aishwarya Rai considered to be one of the most iconic couple in Indian cinema???was it due to their bitter breakup and the hype around it???

They had amazing, sparkling chemistry in HDDCS. I think their public breakup and history only contributed further to people's idea of "the couple that could've been".

Aishwarya has had great chemistry with all her heroes, whether it's SRK, Salman, Hrithik, Ajay, Akshay, Akshaye, Ranbir. Heck, she looked great even with Amitabh and Rajinikanth who are a generation older than her.

Salman-Ash pairing was wonderful in HDDCS but the only reason it gets talked about so much is because of their offscreen past.

Overhyped yes. Doesn't mean they were not good in Hum dil de chuke sanam. But what happened post their break up has always interested public even after so much said and done if they still come together for a film, hype is going to be unreal may be that's why. Controversial break up has larger part to play than the real chemistry. I mean they did 2 movies and In hum dil they were together in first half only, and in hum tumhare hain samne for 10 minutes.
