And these 2 channels ( particularly republic) are showing only this story all day long. I mean whatever it's merits but is it the most important issue in India to be played along 24x7 on news ?

As I said, the only solution that I see is that the courts come down heavily and punish ALL these channels that carry out media trials but as a result we may have PILs against the courts for going against freedom of speech.

Spot on!

IMHO, not withstanding media trials, in present case it will be very difficult to establish strong material evidences .... In all other cases so far , the investigating agency whether centre or state had something concrete to start with....

That exactly is the problem. After 2 months there may be no evidence left to start some investigation. Any way let us see what the SC has to say about the investigation so far by the police.
