So many of them claim to be read, but I really doubt it. Like Saif. He talks about his love for books and interest in history, philosophy, art, literature, etc. But whenever he opens his mouth, he doesn't sound well-read, is too simplistic, and doesn't have as rich a vocabulary.

Sonam is probably those speed-readers who race past books without comprehending much - just to claim that she's read so and so number of books.

Sanya Malhotra, Sobhita Dhulipala and Fatima Sana Shaikh are also fond of reading.

That's because people mistakenly confuse being well-read with being "woke" in today's times. Reading increases your knowledge and critical thinking skills but it doesn't necessarily have to impact your ideology because that depends on what you read. There is a difference between reading history or philosophy and being aware or attentive to cultural injustices in the community today. At least for Saif, most of the criticism I've seen against him has been in regards to his lack of awareness in certain social issues...which again just corresponds to what you read or hear not a lack of reading in general.

I'm precisely talking about critical thinking skills, deductive/inductive reasoning, and streamlined articulation of one's idea. Unless one suffers from autism or similar disorders, a voracious reader is usually capable of all three, and it shows when they speak/argue/debate.

There's nothing in there about being "woke," except for the ability to understand all sides of the argument.

Saif's lack of awareness is a major indicator of his inferior comprehension and/or reading habits. What education and deep reading gives you is the ability to absorb ideas and perspectives. Saif is tone-deaf like many of the Bollywood actors.

You read to learn, expand your horizon. That's something we can never associate with Bollywood stars. That's what they are precisely incapable of doing: learning and expanding their horizon.

M curious what Sonam reads... it doesn’t reflect on her talks but I maybe wrong... Vogue, Champak, Filmi Kaliyan, Rajeev Masand blinds are not considered good reads...

By definition of avid reader: SRK and AB sr. The rest may read a book or two here & there. There is no way one is an avid reader and speak like the way Sonam does. Books ground people. They do not fluff up egos, in some cases, if the reader has high EQ, books can provide tools to hide their narcissism. So that rules out many of the pretend readers.
