Chapter 19: An unbreakable bond

Outside Courtroom.

Arjun couldn't move his eyes from Riya, she is looking breathtakingly beautiful, and he never had seen someone beautiful without many efforts. She is alluring without her own consciousness and without her knowledge. Slowly and carefully, she walks towards Arjun along with her family and she couldn't stand under his heated gaze, so she looked down to hide her smiling face. But Arjun couldn't move his gaze from her and it's like he was drugged by her love forever with no escape.

Arjun's parents grinning ear to ear looking at their son's state.

"Ahem" Mr.Rawte fake cleared his throat to get his son's attention, but Arjun's whose sole attention to the girl who is coming towards them like an angel.

Arjun looked here and there to avoid awkwardness after getting caught by his father.

"Someone told us, he doesn't love anyone but here looking at Riya like he is going to eat her raw" Mr.Rawte teased while looking at his son's face and Aadhirai smiled at him.

Arjun completely turned his head to another side to hide his embarrassment because somewhat his parents are true because he was the one who never had guts to accept this in front of his parents that he loves Riya, and so they have all the rights to taunt him.

Everyone is smiling looking at Riya and her family. Finally, they came and stand next to Arjun's family.

"Sorry for the delay, Uncle. These women are taking too much time to get ready so we end up in Mumbai's traffic!" Aditya taunted all the ladies who were accompanied him and the men laughed out loud while agreeing with him indirectly.

"Excuse me!" Pallavi raised her eyebrows in fake anger.

This time ladies laughed out looking at Aditya's horrified face. Arjun's whole concentration on Riya and nothing going inside his head except she is looking beautiful and she is truly happy. He is slowly capturing her smiling face in his memory to treasure this moment forever in his existence.

"Let's go inside and complete the formalities. The registrar is waiting for us!" Mr.Rawte announced.

"Yeah, sure!" Mr.Shivnath agreed with him and listening to the Mr.Rawte and Mr.shivnath everyone moved to the main hall where this marriage is going to happen.

Zain and Choree holding the garlands with a big smile on their faces. These three people have their own reasons to fly in happiness. Zain is happy because of Arjun, the broken soul who went through so much for the past few years, and finally, he is ready to settle down with a girl like Riya. And Choree they are happy for their best friend and as well as for Arjun, the complex man with layers of personality and they have ever seen in their life.

During the entire time, Riya hasn't moved her gaze to look at Arjun, She feels if she looks at him she will melt like wax or evaporate in the thin air. The feelings and emotions are so overwhelming and it makes her entire existence set on fire, but the sweet fire which is slowly burning her under his heated gaze. Her ignorance is evoking different kind feelings to Arjun's mind, but she is unaware of everything and maintaining her gaze on the ground.

Inside the Courtroom

Everyone is standing next to Ariya and standing in front of the registrar's office. Arjun is carefully looking at Riya at the corner of his eyes and she is looking ahead of the wall with a small smile playing on her lips, so he slowly interlaced his fingers with her fingers to gain her undivided attention on him. After like an eternity Riya looked up his dark brown eyes when she feels her soft palm is being interlaced with hard fingers, and his warm fingers are giving her warmth to her contradict cold fingers.

A deep smile automatically plastered on her face looking at his smiling eyes with love for her. She looked down in blushing, this gesture of Arjun is not missed by others in the room and they are happy for this progress from his side.

"Bride and Groom, Come forward and exchange the garland!" The registrar announced who is verifying the data of them carefully and pasting Arya's picture in the government data.

Arjun and Riya moved ahead of one step and Mr.Rawte gave the garland to Arjun and Mr.Shivnath gave it to Riya for exchange of garlands. The magical moment in everyone's life is happening and that too without much struggle is a big thing for everyone.

Riya is nervous and happy after listening to the officer for garland exchange and her feelings couldn't be expressed in words altogether, it's a moment she was dying to get in this life. And Arjun is not like Riya, very calm with a peaceful expression on his face but the feelings are good to one extent and this is something new which he is feeling in his life after Roshini.

Riya holds the garland with softness and turned her feet to look at Arjun, Right now both of them facing each other. Riya raised her hand to make Arjun wear the garland, but her height is not helping her, not even her 4-inch heels. So she carefully raised her feet to Arjun's height, but still, she couldn't reach his neck. She bites her lower lip to stop the painful cry, and disappointment of not reaching his tall figure. Everyone watching this in silence before they could do anything Arjun slightly bends his head to accept her garland and that makes everyone in the room smile in delight. And at last, Pallavi's last string of doubts is cleared from her mind and she understood Arjun would make her sister happy and protect her too.

Riya happily made Arjun wear the garland and smiled at him and she couldn't take off her eyes from him because of the sincerity in the brown orbs. And finally, Arjun also made Riya wear garland around her neck. Everyone clapped in delight when Ariya exchanged garlands.

Mr.Rawte and Mrs.Rawte came forward and gave the Mangal sutra which was given by Pallavi two days ago. The traditional Tamil Mangal sutra which is in "M" shape with yellow thread attaching to it instead of gold or any other metal chain. It is simple and beautiful. Pallavi smiled at them appreciatively for accepting their request.

Riya's heart is beating fast and she feels it will jump out of the ribcage at any moment and then finally the moment arrived in her life to seal her fate with Arjun forever in this lifetime.

"Arjun" Mr.Rawte called out his son's name softly so that he could come out of the dream and start the rituals and would tie the knot with Riya.

"Yes, Dad!" Arjun softly whispered and moved his hand towards Riya's neck carefully while reading her expressions.

He looked at Riya's black eyes to find any fear or denial, but nothing that sort of the emotions are seen in her eyes, but it's filled with love, and a layer of unshed tears are formed in her eyes. He carefully tied the Mangal sutra in her neck unlike other traditions, it is something different and he has to tie three knots in the Mangal sutra to complete the marriage as per Tamil tradition, and during the entire time, his brown eyes never move an inch from her black eyes. It's like he is promising her without words that he will be with her till his lifetime and cherish her.

A single drop of tears rolled down on Riya's cheeks with happiness and Arjun slightly disappointed looking at her tears so he nodded his head in denial and tried to move his right hand to her face to wipe her tears but before he could do that, his wife was being pulled by her best friend Dhivya in happiness and both the ladies hugged in delight with emotions.

He does know how they are feeling right now, precisely his wife Riya and others smiled, looking at them before he could process anything or look at his Riya, he was bear-hugged by his parents first and when he came out of the hug, he was pulled for a hug again and this time it's Sameer, Chotu and Sree.

Soon Riya was surrounded by all the ladies and everyone is hugging her in satisfaction. While hugging everyone Riya looks at Arjun and at the same Arjun also looks at her. And they being surrounded by people but still, their hearts craved for each other and Arjun understood her inner feelings and gave his famous rare smile that would light Riya's mood.

"Please sign this marriage papers!" officer pushed the registered notebook towards them.

Arjun and Riya nodded their head after coming out of the hug and signed on the official marriage papers and as a witness, Arjun's parents and Pallavi and Aditya signed the notebook.

"So officially Arjun and Riya are married now. Happy married life!" Officer said smilingly looking at the beautiful couple.

"Congratulations, Arjun, and Riya!" Everyone screams in happiness together.

"Thank you!" Ariya whispered with a small smile while looking at their family's craziness.

"Now, I'm Riya Arjun Suryakant Rawte! I'm the happiest soul alive on the earth right now and I can't ask more in my life after this. It's like a dream that comes true in fairytale life but it is happening in my life now.I'm married to Arjun, the man I desired all my life and in my dreams. I thought after my behavior in the hospital, he would never come and visit me even if he does that the reason would be completely different but he had asked me to marry him. My rational mind wanted to say no to him, but my feelings for him overpowered my mind and I finally said yes to him. " Riya whispered to herself with a small smile dancing on her lips and clutched her Mangal sutra tightly.

Arjun looked at her and Riya is whispering some incoherent words to herself while clutching the Mangal sutra and suddenly he has the urge to know what she is talking to herself so he turned his head to her and raised his eyebrows at her in question.

"What?" He asked softly while moving closer to her.

"Nothing!" She nodded her head like no and looked down in shy being caught by Arjun.

Arjun reluctantly nodded his head looking at her stubbornness not revealing her cute secrets to him.

"Let's go to Rawte mansion and today's lunch is at our place!" Mr.Rawte announced and everybody agreed with him happily.

Riya is surrounded by ladies group and they are busy teasing and pulling her leg, Soon everybody started to move from the place, except Arjun and Aditya. Actually, Arjun wants to talk to the registrar in private but looking at Aditya he refrained from doing so. Arjun looked at Aditya in confusion because everybody left the place and it seems he wants to talk to him in private.

"Arjun"

"Ji, Yes tell me!" Arjun waited for him to talk.

"We never talked much or maybe we didn't get time to talk before marriage and I feel this is the right time to talk."

Arjun nodded his head in confusion because he didn't know where this topic heading to and he really wish it's not related to his previous job.

"I'm happy that Pallavi agreed to this marriage. And we really hope that you will make Riya happy in this marriage. So much had happened in Riya and Pallavi's life and they lost their parents at a very early stage in their life. And after their father's sudden loss, Pallavi became very protected about Riya and I feel she is right to a certain extent because Riya is the only family she has now and my wife's happiness matters me a lot. At the same time, I want Riya to be happy in this marriage. I really wish you will take care of her."

Arjun sighed inwardly after listening to him and he almost felt that Aditya is going to question something related to his past but nothing that sort of happened.

"I will take care of her and it's a promise, I would never lever her at any cost in my life and I will protect her till my last breath" Arjun promised to Aditya but it seems like he is promising to himself.

"Sometimes women need love and care of their husbands, though they wanted to feel protected by their husbands, and always love overpowers protection. In the end, the ultimate goal in life is to love and to be loved in this universe, nothing else matters, I hope you would understand this soon, Arjun."

Looking at Arjun's silent face, Aditya continued after a small pause.

"Riya is so important in our life and her happiness matters us more. You're so lucky that you got a second chance in this life, so take care of her because life doesn't bless you with a good woman twice." Aditya indirectly explained Riya's importance in their life.

"I will do it and Riya is very important in my life too!" Arjun whispered under his breath, without his own knowledge that his own voice slightly laced with jealousy and protectiveness for Riya.

Aditya smiled at him and teased, "OMG, on the first day of marriage itself this much possessiveness on Riya that you couldn't even accept her own family claiming her as theirs. What a sight to watch."

Arjun looked here and there to hide his embarrassment and looking at his Arjun's uncomfortable face, Aditya laughed out loud thus makes Arjun more embarrassed.

"If you feel shy to express your love for your wife then I pity you, man, because men never shy away from expressing love to their lady love if they do so its a shame. A man who is shy away from expressing love, then he doesn't know how to celebrate life and love. And certainly, life would be difficult to deal with Mukherjee's sisters. Be careful Haan!" Aditya said in between his laugh.

Arjun looked at him in further confusion because of his riddles talk about Pallavi and Riya.

"Don't be afraid and confused about Mukherjee's sisters. They are very sweet when it comes to love but in anger don't ask me, man and they are worst in foul mode and Riya will give competition to Pallavi in anger." Aditya gave him a pity look at the last part.

Arjun is not surprised about Riya's anger because he had witnessed her worst anger in these two weeks and that time itself, he had concluded that Riya will compete him in anger though she looks innocent.

"Don't worry, whenever Riya gets anger, just one phone call to me and I will tell my secret of calming Pallavi's anger and you follow the same with Riya and the anger vanishes in the thin air only love prevails in your life.!" Aditya winked at him with a cheeky smile.

Arjun made a surprised face looking at his double meaning talk. Aditya gave him another cheeky smile to ease the tension which was created due to his serious talk.

"Yes, I will call you!" Arjun said to him with slight hesitation.

"You can call me Aditya or you can call me Jiju, just like Riya, and Don't be formal like I'm an outsider." Aditya took the first step looking at his closed-off behavior towards him.

"Sure Jiju!" Arjun mumble under his breath and this word look so new to him, but he likes it at the end.

Aditya pulled him for a manly hug in delight and smiled.

" If uncle and Aunt would be here, they would be happy because their daughters are in safe hands and they got the best sons-in-law in the whole world." Aditya lifted his invisible collar with pride.

For the first time in this conversation, Arjun laughed out loud after listening to Aditya's self-praising moments of Mukherjee's sons-in-law.

"Let's go out now otherwise everyone would be worried, especially Mukherjee sisters.!" Aditya winked at him playfully.

Arjun hummed in response and both of them left the place in the lighted heart clearing their mind.

Rawte's Mansion

Riya is welcomed to Rawte mansion as per the Hindu rituals by Arjun's family with warmth and love, now everybody settled in the lobby area of the Rawte mansion. Men of the family involved themselves in general talk including Zain and elder women in the family moved to the kitchen to prepare foods for lunch, and Riya, Dhivya, Liza, and Choree moved to the other end of the hall and settled themselves in the fun talk, especially teasing Riya and Liza with Arjun and Sree names.

Soon lunch was coming to an end with fun and happiness and It was around 3.00 PM everybody settled in the sofa area except Zain because he left the mansion owing to complete some works which are assigned to him by senior Rawte.

Riya and Divya family looking each other before revealing something to Riya and Arjun. Except for Ariya others knew the reason for their hesitation to talk openly.

"Mr.Surya, we are leaving for our home today itself and it's been long we are here and we have to return to our work by next week, but whenever possible we will try to visit our daughter Riya!" Mr.Shivnath carefully said each word looking at Riya's changing expressions.

"But Uncle!" Riya tries to stop him but she was interrupted by Aditya.

"Uncle is right, Riya. We have to go now and you knew our professions right and we can't make our patients wait prolonged time and we knew you are now in a safe place. And just like Uncle said we will visit you once in two months!" Aditya tried to explain to her.

Riya turned her face to Dhivya's side who is looking down and Riya knew the answers, but she wants to hear it from her.

"I'm sorry Riya, but I have to go now and soon we will meet for sure, I promise!" Dhivya replied to her unasked questioned.

Riya kicked the foot on the ground in anger and Arjun raised his eyebrows looking at Riya's anger.

"Pallavi Didi, You don't have anything to say now!" Riya questioned her sister in anger.

Everyone is silent without uttering words, but it was their decision to let the newly married couple stay alone and know each other better. When no one is talking Riya turned her heels to Mr.Rawte's side with a puppy face.

"At least you tell them dad and ask them to stay in our home for a few more days, Please dad!" Riya pleaded him with a sad expression.

How could he support her? Because it was his master plan to make the couples stay without any interruption and get comfortable with each other. He could arrange for a honeymoon in foreign countries for them and book a whole private island, but his stubborn son simply would turn off his idea with a name of work and safeguarding Riya and protecting her. And his never-ending lists of reasons. Riya is also supporting Arjun in every aspect and she doesn't want to make him in a delicate situation though she loves all these things. So he decided this after talking with these people.

"Riya, let them go now and we will invite them to our Diwali celebration which is in two months. And if they say it's necessary to go now, so let them go and I'm sure they must have some motive and reasons behind that!" Mr.Rawte tries to assure her and winked at his partners secretly.

Others controlled their laugh looking at his acting skills, but Arjun feels something is fishy and feels his father is doing something behind on his back fooling his innocent wife.

"Are you sure Jiju? It's about the work you guys are leaving today?" Arjun raised his eyebrows in suspicion while looking at Aditya.

Rathod cursed Arjun in his mind and whispered," Who asks him to behave like an IPS officer now? Idiot, in romance he would score fewer marks only! God put some sense into his thick skull. He doesn't know how to use this moment and spend time with Riya. And he can't beat Sameer Rathod in romance, maybe ACP. Arjun Suryakant Rawte good at the fieldwork, but when it comes to romance zero, tube light and can't understand the feelings"

Rathod self praises himself before focusing his attention on Arjun and to confuse him to some extent.

"Arjun, This is not an interrogation room and he is not a criminal. If they say, they have works to be completed let them go. Tell me one thing Sir wants to join the office after waking up from CCU on the second day itself when he was hospitalized, and now If they want to join their office after two weeks' leave, you will interrogate them. How mean is that?" Sameer taunted him with an irritated face so that Arjun would leave the matter easily.

Arjun made a face hearing his taunting and touched his nose in annoyance out of his habit.

"Okay, you guys can go now, but we will meet at Diwali celebration and no more discussion on this!" Riya firmly warned them and finally, she has granted permission to leave.

Sameer gave thumps up to Mr.Rawte after diverting Arjun and others sighed in relief.

Around 5.00 PM in the evening everyone started to head towards the airport. Pallavi, and Aditya to London, Mr &Mrs.Singhnaia to Delhi and Dhivya to Australia. Ariya, Arjun's parents and ETF moved along with them to send them off.

At Mumbai International Airport

Everyone gets down on the cars and Riya looked at her family with tears in her eyes, these 3-4 weeks were the best days in her life after a decade and she enjoyed the fullest though she was admitted in the hospital and certainly she wants these moments to stay with her a few more days, and want her family to stay with her.

She hugged Anjana and whispered, "I will miss you, aunty!".Anjana softly caressed her back in affection. Anjana also hugged back with motherly love.

"Soon we will come back to meet you, dear!" Mr.Shivnath smiled at her.

Riya hummed in response and turned her face from Pallavi, Aditya, and Dhivya. she is not talking to trio from the time they had announced their departure and whenever they try to talk to her, either she is going in another direction or acing like she is busy.

"Riyu, please. Try to understand us. Don't do this and If you don't talk to us, how can we go from here knowing that my sister is angry with me!" Pallavi pleaded her and she holds her face in her hand.

Riya cried softly and tears rolled down, this makes everyone feels bad for her, especially Mr.Rawte making her cry in the name of giving her alone time with Arjun.

"Pallavi's didi promise, we will come for Diwali. Don't cry, my baby! Please" Pallavi wiped her sister's tears carefully.

Riya nodded her head and hugged her sister in affection, and Aditya caressed Riya's hair in brotherly affection, and Dhivya looked at her with a gloomy face. Because she got time to relish her memories with Riya once again in her life once again and on top of that finally her dream came true by marrying her dream boy Arjun though the circumstances are different and she is happy for that part and she knows Arjun will love Riya in future if not today.

Pallavi came out of the hug looking at Dhivya's face and she thought to let the friends have their own share of spending time. Dhivya hugged Riya and feels bad that they are going to stay away from each other but still happy that she will be with Arjun now. When she feels Riya is crying, so she wants to lighten her mood.

"Oyee, Heroine, if you cry, who would handle your hero? And I'm damn sure the ACP husband of yours will be encountering me in his mind for making you cry, so please stop crying. When we meet next time give me good news of the junior version of angry Arjun or innocent Riya in your life, Okay.!" Dhivya nudged her shoulder to tease her.

Riya came out of the hug and soft red color is spreading in her cheeks after her teasings. Dhivya patted her own back after diverting Riya's mind.

"Take care of yourself and once again give some time to Arjun, he will reciprocate your feelings in every aspect. Keep faith in God. And update to me on your love story daily. Don't forget your best friend after marrying your hero!" Dhivya whispered under her breath so that others couldn't hear their conversation.

"Let's go now. We have to be at the waiting area now!" Mr.Shivnath reminded them about the flights.

Pallavi, Aditya, Anjana, Dhivya, and Shivnath are moved inside the airport premises after waving off to others.

Arjun's parents, Ariya and ETF are looking at the retreating figures of Riya's family.

"Arjun, we will take leave now and we will meet at the office after 10 days!" Sameer said with a toothy grin.

"Are you mad, Sameer? Why would I take 10 days holiday to the office? Wipe off your stupid grin on your face and It's irritating" Arjun yelled at him looking at his stupid grin.

Mr&. Rawte, Ayesha, Choree, and Liza are rolling their eyes listening to his stupidity, but Riya is silent without uttering a word.

Sameer smacked his head, looking at Arjun's confused face and gave a tight smile to Riya And he moved to Arjun and started to whisper.

"Hey, Arjun. Are you an idiot or acting like stupid? Do you remember you have married to Riya today and she will be having some expectations from you! At least spend some time with her before coming to the office and torturing us. Please spare us for a few days before showing up at the office with the attitude and stop scaring Choree" Sameer half yelled and half-whispered.

"Sameer!" Arjun tries to stop him but he showed the back of his hand. And started to walk towards his car.

"We will go now and see you at the office after 10 days Arjun. Bye!" Rathod never let Arjun complete the talk and indicated his team members to leave the place in a hurry including Ayesha before Arjun stops them.

Understanding his eye movements Ayesha, Liza, and Choree are waved to Riya and Mr&Mrs. Rawte almost ran towards to Sameer's car. Riya looked at her friends in utter confusion for their weird behavior, so she looked at Arjun's parents for a clue but they also shrugged their shoulders in denial, though they knew the reasons.

"Bye Riya, Uncle, and Aunty, and yeah bye Arjun. Take care of yourselves.!" Sameer yelled while looking at them before running out of the place with his team members.

Arjun sighed inwardly and certainly, he can't blame Sameer because whatever he said was right and Riya will be having some expectations in this marriage and at last, she deserves to happy. With a confused mind, he walked towards his car with his parents and Riya. Soon he drove them to Rawte's mansion.

Rawte's Mansion.

It was around 8.00 PM at night after dinner, Ariya and Arjun's parents settled down in the sofa area in complete silence. Riya is fiddling with her fingers in nervousness. Aadhirai smiled softly, looking at her so she interlaced her fingers with her to give her comfort. She doesn't know whether to be happy for his son or feel bad for this woman. When everyone said to prepare for the first night of Ariya without asking Arjun but she denied decorating the room and doing other kinds of stuff. When everybody asked her reasons and she simply took the blame on her instead of pointing out Arjun. As a woman, she could understand Riya's state of mind and her feelings. She also knew Riya did everything so that her son won't feel uncomfortable and bad.

"We will go and sleep now. We are tired!" Mrs.Rawte stood up from her place because she knows her son as well as Riya, so she faked being tired.

"Okay Mom" Ariya whispered together.

"Good night, Arjun and Riya!" Mr&Mrs.Rawte wished them while moving to their room which is on the first floor right wing.

"You guys also sleep soon" Mr.Rawte advised them before walking with his wife to their room.

Ariya's Room

Right now Ariya is standing in front of their room and with hesitation, he had opened the room, but looking at his room without any decorations and just the way he left in the morning, he was surprised. It's clean and spot-free with no sort of flowers or any kind decorative things, neither in the room nor on the bed. He craned his neck to Riya's side to read her expressions, but she is calm and serene without any hurtful expression which surprises him to his wits.

"This is our room!" Arjun leads Riya to their room.

Riya looked around the room to admire the room. It is painted with white and black, and here and there Arjun's favorite color red which is sparked in the room beautifully. A big size master bed was placed in the middle of the room and the soft rich leather and wooded furniture are placed in the room with a big size wardrobe and a beautiful Italian dressing table on the left side of the bed.

And she couldn't trace a single photo of Roshini in the room, only Arjun's and his parent's photographs are hung in the hall. Though she saw his room last time when she visited him at that time she didn't notice these things except meeting him after a long week. So she carefully moved her eyes to look around her new room.

"Beautiful room" She whispered to herself in inaudible tone.

After a few mins in the silence with Arjun, she turned her heels to Arjun's side who is standing behind her at a distance with a mixed expression.

"Arjun, Washroom, I want to clean myself!" Riya called out Arjun's name loudly to make him come out of his dream.

"Straight right and then left!" Arjun also whispered while gazing at her in surprise.

Around 60 mins or so Riya came out of the washroom with simple blue color cotton night clothes and she saw Arjun also refreshed himself and he is wearing black west with a gray hoodie, and he is standing on the other side room with hands folded across the chest.

"Arjun!" Riya whispered inaudibly, but Arjun felt her presence near him and turned his head to Riya's side.

Riya walked towards him slowly and stand right in front of him without any space leaving Arjun to breathe her flowery scent and she breathes Arjun's after shower manly scent along with his natural woods and sands heavenly smell. Without any warnings, Arjun hugged her tightly.

"Thank you so much, and I knew it was you who had forced Dad and Mom not to decorate this room.!" Arjun whispered to Riya's ear.

"Then I should thank you as well by removing Roshini's picture in the room!" Riya mumbled while making comfortable in his hard chest.

"How do you know this?" Arjun questioned her in surprise.

But Riya is playing with his shirt buttons instead of answering him so he holds her hand tightly without hurting her. And flushed her soft petite frame closed to his hard one.

"Answer me!" Arjun demanded her with a baritone voice.

"Just the way you knew that it was me who had canceled the decorations in the room, simple!" Riya cheekily said as a matter of fact.

Arjun lips twisted up slightly looking at her grinning face.

"You will sleep here and I will sleep in the adjacent room next to this master bedroom.!" Arjun carefully said without wanting her to get hurt in any way.

Riya knew he would take time to open up in this marriage and taking the next step in this marriage is nowhere near but he himself asking her to sleep alone does hurt her slightly But she masked her true feelings and gave him a teasing smile.

"Don't tell me Mr.Arjun Suryakant Rawte is afraid of Mrs.Riya Arjun Rawte, and do you feel I would eat you? Don't worry, I won't eat you while you sleep next to me, I promise that.!" Riya looked up from his chest while gazing his brown orbs with a teasing smile.

"I'm not afraid of anyone and especially not my wife Mrs.Riya Arjun Rawte and it's always another way around.! Wanna try?" Arjun challenged her with the same expression of Riya and mirroring his feelings slightly.

Riya is nervous hearing his reply nevertheless doesn't show it on her face. Looking at Riya's nervous face, and Arjun decides to tell her the true reason.

"It's been two years, I couldn't sleep at night. I will get nightmares and even scream in sleep and I don't have any proper sleep schedule and you would definitely get disturbed during your sleep. I don't want you to go through this phase because of me, and I'm sorry, Riya!" Arjun feels guilty making Riya suffer unnecessarily.

Riya hugged him tighter now and whispered, " I'm really sorry for that and I'm ready to go through this and I don't have any problem even if you scream in your sleep and disturb my sleep, But I want to be with you that's all."

"But Riya!" Arjun tries to stop her.

"Please Arjun!" She mumbled in a cracked voice and without any choice, Arjun agreed with her.

They came out of the hug after some time and Riya cleaned the bed before lying down on it and pulled down Arjun along with her. Now they both are facing each other and there is a considerable distance between them. Riya is gazing at him without blinking for a few mins but tiredness overpowering her body and sleep overtook her. Arjun smiled at her before facing the ceiling to close his eyes and invite his desperate guest with longings.

It is just 5 mins Arjun has slept but it looks like the luck is not with him as usual. The blurred images of that dread day and Roshini's blood-stained body and her screaming are echoing in his ear again and again like a broken record. A layer of sweat formed on his forehead even the fully centralized AC bedroom and he woke up suddenly with a rasping breath. It took another 5 mins for Arjun to compose him physically and mentally.

He carefully looked at his right side to see Riya's sleeping figure without any worry lines on her beautiful face. He took the water glass which is placed on the bed table and gulped down in one go. He covered Riya's petite frame with a blanket and kissed her forehead and left cheek softly.

"I'm sorry, Riya. I tried to sleep, but I couldn't do that and at the same, I don't want to disturb you, So you sleep. I will go out" Arjun mumbled to Riya's sleeping figure and once again tucked her in the bed carefully.

Arjun took his moble and wore his slipper before leaving for the balcony to get fresh air and that could clear his irritational mind and negative thoughts.

Ariya's room balcony

Arjun gazes at the sky, which is filled with stars and moon and firmly holds the glass railing to ease off the feelings and fear that's surfaced in his mind.

"I don't want her to get hurt and I knew if she gets to know that, I left the room in the middle of the night, she would feel bad or even would think like I'm avoiding her. What I could do other than leaving her alone because I don't want her to gets frightened after hearing my painful scream and look at me with those pitying looks. I want Riya to look at me with loved filled eyes, not with sympathy. I don't like someone look at me with compassion, precisely Riya."

Arjun mumbles himself looking at the sky and in his trance, he didn't notice his father is looking at him in confusion on the other side of their balcony.

~Mr&Mrs.Rawte's room balcony~

Mr.Suryakant winded off Zain's call because they are leaving for New York the next day, and they have some work in the Mumbai office that has to be finished soon before he is flying to New York with his wife.

Damn, What the hell he is doing at this late hour? God this man never change and I have to put some sense into his head. And complete idiot, this boy is! When he will understand that he is losing his precious moments in this life. He really wants to jump to the other side of his son's room balcony and strangle him for his stupidity, but he can't do that for a few reasons. One is he would disturb Riya and next is that his wife loves their son and yeah, he also loves his stupid son so much and he can't bring himself to hurt his lovely son.

Mr.Rawte paced around the balcony and typed away something on his mobile after two mins thinking and looked at Arjun's direction for his reaction.

~Back to Ariya's room balcony~

Arjun is gazing at the sky until his mobile beeped under his hoodie and he opened his mobile to see the message who sent at the odd hour of the night.

"Back to your room, my man. I swear to God if you didn't go inside the room within 5 mins, I will do something which will make you cringe your face in annoyance, don't challenge me, my dear son. So back to your room and we will talk about this tomorrow morning and you can't escape. Get ready for a face-off Mr.Arjun Suryakant Rawte and this time you can't escape.!"

This was the above message from his father and he could feel his threatening voice even in his message.

After reading the message the color drained off from his handsome face and without any doubts. And he looked up his right and saw his father with folded hands and looking at him in fury mode.

Arjun nodded his head without any choice and left to his room.

~Back to Ariya Room~

Arjun moved in silence and lies down next Riya and tries to sleep by forcing him, but still, the thoughts are not leaving his mind and the blurred images of his past are running in front of his eyes repetitively like a film. He jolted out of his own thoughts and runs his fingers through the hairs in frustration. Once again he looked at Riya and her calm face piercing his heart so he left the room which is attached to the master bedroom.

Next day morning

It was around 6.30 AM in the morning Riya woke up and for a few mins, and she forgets that she is married and right now she is sleeping next to Arjun. She carefully turned and looks for Arjun but looking at the empty bed she frowned in confusion.

"Where is Arjun now?"

Riya moved her fingers to Arjun's side and feels no warmness on the mattress. She tied up her hair in a messy bun before getting up from the bed and wrinkled freed her dress and washed her face with water, before searching Arjun in their room and she certainly knew where she could find him.

~Adjacent room~

It was around 12.00 AM in the night, Arjun came to this room and as usual, he couldn't sleep so he spent the time walking around the room for a few hours and staring at the empty walls for few hours around 4.20 AM in the morning sleep overtook him finally.

Riya stands on the doorstep and looking at his sleeping figure without a blanket. It seems he slept in the early morning.

When I don't have Arjun in my life, I crave his presence in my life and when I met him after decades of living in his memory, I wanted him to acknowledge my presence in his life. Now I'm married to him in spite of knowing that his love for me has more shades and reasons, it is not just that he loves me or likes me. I have this nagging feeling in the past few days that Arjun has some reasons to marry me other than liking or loving me. I didn't know what will happen to me if Arjun married me in sympathy or he can't love me the way he does to Roshini. I'm afraid of these negative thoughts that are surfacing in my mind.

"Stop it Riya, Don't spoil your life with these thoughts!" her heart warned her rational mind.

"What if Arjun behave this way all the way and having a difficult time adjusting with me and my presence in his life!" her mind whispered and added fuel to her already confused soul.

"Give him some time and he will accept you wholeheartedly and don't let these feelings spoil your happiness. You already know that Arjun is a hard man to deal with an attitude that would give compete with mount Everest's height. You also know that he has a past, and coming out of Roshni's memory is difficult for him, and he is trying to be a good man with you. He will come around and you should think in a good perspective that he is not behaving rudely with you and his famous trademark tag of 'STAY AWAY' from me And he clearly told you the reason for not sleeping next to you, but you're the one who had forced him" her heart whispered guiltily.

After a battle between her mind and heart, she finally concluded that Arjun will accept her, but it will take time, and till then she has to maintain the peace in this marriage. This marriage is not certainly a perfect marriage, but if both of them work together they could make this as a fairytale perfect marriage. The only thing it requires is a lot of patience with never-ending love that's all, nothing else.

She started to walk towards his bed slowly, just like yesterday night Arjun did when he saw Riya was sleeping. Arjun is lying down on the bed on his stomach in a zig-zag position with a slightly open mouth and messy hair that is touching his forehead.

Riya kneeled down on the bed and smiled looking at his sleeping state. She carefully closed his slightly open mouth without waking him up and caressed his soft silky hairs that are dancing on his forehead. She closed him with a blanket that is lying down on the ground and kissed his hair softly before leaving the place.

"I knew Arjun. You don't want to hurt me, but you didn't know that this closed behavior of you will hurt me if you continue to do the same in the future.! I almost stopped myself claiming your love in the past and I can't assure you that I won't do it in the present and future" Riya mumbled under her breath while looking at Arjun's sleeping figure.

A small tear rolled down on her left eye without her own knowledge and she started to walk out of the room after wiping her tears.
