Films Releasing Online - Less Valued?

I get this sense from most people that films releasing on streaming platforms are not going to be as respected as films that release in the theatre and bring people in.

The way a movie used to release and the way reviews would come in and a hype would build up......is that possible with streaming ? Or is this just another way to escape reality ? Lots of people will release on Netflix and “pretend” their film was successful

Theaters are the best way to judge a film's success, numbers dont lie...(I m not talking about content just numbers).

If a film can’t get a theatrical release it’s last than 😂

In today's times its not about films being unvalued, but its about getting some returns on films that have comparatively smaller budgets. Producers will end up losing alot of money if these movies are not released at all. In today's fast paced world where so many options are available, even a slight delay causes the audience to lose interest in films and the product starts appearing as stale.

Also its doubtful how many people would even think about going to theatres when this pandemic settles; theres no guarantee at all of our safety unless a vaccine is made which combats all the mutations of the virus.

Different times different measures. Those who won't take the opportunity will lose money. Ab toh theater ka matlab woh drive-in cinemas hote hai na.. jaha log pehle dekhe hue classics phir se dekhne jaate hai.. waisa ho jayega. Toh agar ek film OTT mein hit ho gaya.. shayad theater wale kuch hafte baad woh film release kare... iss se log bhi kam aayenge... exhibitors ko premiers bhi kam bharne padenge... producer would just earn bonus from it.

We measure impact by BO. Not only for the film, it is important for the actor, director..we measure their credibility and star value through BO. Without this, there is no way of knowing.

Ott release has its pluses in the we are disabled from looking at BO only, and we pay more attention to talent as well as content. With ott we can actually see how average our BW “stars” are in comparison to Ott successful actors

that is how i enjoy them..the experience..the numbers..reviews..etc

all this OTT stuff is not my cup of tea and personally i don't see any interest in general audience as well..there is no definite measure of success..like i don't know if shakuntala devi is a flop or disaster..but i can't care much either..where are the numbers to prove anything..BORING!
