Say if Sushant Singh Rajput came from a powerful filmy dynasty the Kapoor or the Khans. Would Bollywood still have been so silent. Would there be people coming out to telling the public not to speculate or AKA ask difficult questions? Would Bollywood tell us no one else is to blame if it was a suicide cause by depression? Would they tell us that doubting the Mumbai police's on the spot verdict is disrespectful to Sushant and his family. I will repost Vidya interview just for people to see. (Hypothetic written by Grumpy)

One of the very few Bollywood people asking for a CBI inquiry.

#DishaSalian death must be investigated. Why was it ignored?? It will reveal the truth of the conspiracy linked to the murder of #SSR. #CBIforShushant MUST investigate. We demand the truth. We can't be stopped now..

Seriously, Sonakshi Sinha's "aag basti mein mai apni masti mein" tweet and stuff like that were so awful. They're a bunch of selfish, arrogant and egotistical people.

The whole of BW is silent because people are accusing them of murdering Sushant...bullying him, harassing him ....they are receiving rape and death threats...they are being investigated by the cops.....

Most of them did pay their respects to Sushant...but they were mocked for it...so much so...that some of them had to shut their comment box....

You can't have ur cake and eat it too...doesn't happen like that.....if they stand for Sushant or ask for justice...u know very well that they will be eaten alive by people...that is why even if they want to ...no one is speaking up..

If Sushant was a Khan or a Kapoor.....his death would have been investigated without the BW being implicated in his murder....yes most probably people would have stood up for him...no one would have held BW responsible for his death....there is a big difference...

U have to understand that if anyone speaks right now...they will be eaten alive.

“With Sushant Singh Rajput passing away, people who felt wronged, ignored, there was a sense of identification with him,” Vidya told CinemaExpress in an interview, attributing the outrage, in part, to the nationwide coronavirus lockdown. “Now the point is rightly or wrongly we do not know, because we do not know why he took the step he did. To show respect is to keep quiet. To speculate is... people can come up with all sorts of theories and that’s unfair to him more than anyone else, and his loved ones, who’re probably grieving.”

She continued, “I’ve been through ups and downs and I’ve had all sorts of experiences in the industry. I am not saying nepotism does not exist, but I didn’t let that stand in my way. That said, everyone is different. It’s a tumultuous time and it really helps to talk to someone.”

Also read: Ranvir Shorey asks Anurag Kashyap not to ‘belittle others when they’re crying out’, he says ‘You see Kangana’s outburst as her pain’

She said that the world is going through a tumultuous time and that perhaps now is the time that a ‘power structure’ is facing a reckoning. “But no one can be blamed if someone decides to take their own life,” she said. “Let him really rest in peace.”

Ok if it is a hypothetical we can take away the public uproar. How many people spoke up about Jia Khan? Divya Bharti? Compared to Salman Khan during his case. There were people comparing those who sleep on the street to dogs in their tweets.

Sorry they were almost asking for backlash.

bold: There can be multiple reasons behind them not speaking up though. You like to believe that it's their fear of backlash preventing them, which is fine.

I say it's because they don't care, they never did and they never will. They will only preach or "take a stand" against something that projects them in a positive light or somehow benefits them. When it comes to actually standing up for the side of right, they are all shrinking violets.

That's also one of the major reasons I simply cannot accept Deepika pretending to start a morcha on depression. And all of their "mental health awareness" BS, when simple fact is they could care less.

Sad as it is some people think Sooraj is innocent so they will stand by him.

Um saying the public anger is there because they felt he didn’t get justice and was treated unfairly. That is a huge part of it. Since when did you inherit the ability to get inside my head to know what I mean?
