There wouldnt be one god sitting up there and making up so many religions differently. And the kind of things some religions texts have I dont belive any righteous/fair god would be writing it like that. And if there are multiple gods they would be fighting up there like the humans do below

I am pretty sure Kunti lied about her sons being god's children so that she has a strong say for competition against Biological children of Dhritrashtra. Secondly probably the biological fathers were not great men by birth. Later when this was established, she extrapolated it to include her premarital child n give him a respectable birth
