Shiv Parvati are not a part of history to be very honest. They are religious beliefs. No evidence about their existence. Nor are they a part of history. There are absolutely no proofs about It.

Mahabharata on the other hand is definitely Itihaas. The word which we later took for the Hindi translation of history.

You can't compare both.

Coming to why people don't believe. There are people who doubt and object to historical events throughout. As one goes more back in time, the uncertainties increase

There are a few who doubt the historicity of Prophet Muhammad

There are more who doubt if Jesus was ever born

Many have now stated saying Porus might have defeated Alexander

Completely no clue on how Bimbisar died

Multiple accounts about Durdhara's (Bindusar's mom) lineage. Some even link her to Nanda dynasty. Same with Ashoka's wife Kaurviki. She could be from Kalinga

There is a huge doubt about the historicity of MariyumUZamani(Hindu wife is Akbar), popular culture call her Jodha, but many historians and common people say Jodha was the wife of Akbar's son.

History has more confusions and contradictions. Fiction is fixed as mentioned by the writer
