I have frankly failed to understand the logic behind defending this toxicity. One would think that any person who has a modicum of sensitivity would want to get rid of the toxicity. This need to defend it left, right and centre is beyond me. It's even more ironic that some of these people who are defending this shit claim to care about mental health. If you give a f about anyone's mental health, you wouldn't be out there getting defensive over how much toxicity exits within this industry. This notion that just because a case is filed here, all that has no meaning is like being back to square one. It is on record that the blind items out there and the shit that was printed in them did affect Sushant. That can't be denied considering there are legit statements out there by folks who knew him better than most here. One would think people who give a damn about this industry would want it to be better in every way. And this isn't just restricted to Sushant, what has happened to him is beyond tragic and it has resulted in all this stuff coming to the forefront. It ain't like it didn't exist before. It did. Superstars have spoken about shit out there affecting them yet people are still questioning if toxicity can play a part in worsening or triggering someone's mental health issues. If you give a damn about anyone's well being then you shouldn't be out there defending this crap.
I stated this the other that it is weird to say the least that everything that is related to this case is being leaked left, right and centre. Yet there were hardly any leaks when it came to Masand being questioned. How are the Bombay cops not getting to the bottom of who were his "sources". Delving into that would open up a Pandora's box that most in this industry don't want to even acknowledge. Everyone knows as to how murky things can be behind the scenes where you legit have folks targeting each other through their PRs so I guess once that Pandora's box opens up, plenty would come out. Which is why it's baffling that there are people out there still defending this culture. I understand if some here don't give a damn about Sushant. That's clear from the way they have spoken about him after his passing. They haven't even spared his family. But since some of these folks care oh so much about issues related to mental health, one would think their stance regarding toxicity would be different.
Even I for one don't understand this going of your way to defend the toxicity that clearly exists in there. What is baffling is those speaking out are constantly labeled right-wing, unsuccessful, failing careers, and what not just to discredit their experience. Even someone as big and as decent as Rehman wasn't spared by these people.
'This happens everywhere else too', 'if you aren't thick skinned enough then leave', 'don't be a cry baby or else go back to Bihar', 'Kjo steals roles only for one person so its okay' - all these arguments used to defend this rot are beyond my level of understanding. People are targeted and hounded in this industry and yet we are to believe this has no effect on a person's mental health? And if it affects you then you should just pack your bag and leave to your hometown? Why? Shouldn't every type of person have equal opportunity to showcase his/her talent? How can any industry be an exclusive club of just one type of people? Do sensitive people not have a right to thrive in this world? Imagine someone saying this to the women who spoke out against their toxic and uncomfortable workplaces and the men there during the Metoo movement? Oh, you're too sensitive. A little bit of harassment is okay.
Just imagine.
Also, you totally spoke my mind about the Mumbai police. God knows what investigation they are carrying out that takes over two months in a case of suicide.
