Why do people get self banned? to break the addiction or to get all the stuff they wrote get deleted

Ronaldo got banned because he went crazy fighting with someone named Mrignani - it's a Deepika fan troll account that only comes on to pick fights and complain about fans from years ago. I think Ronaldo already had a lot of warnings.

Cricketfan1 was active just an hour ago so no idea what happened there. People have been reporting a lot in those Sushant topics over dumb things.
