The halala scenario in Zara Yaad Kar was invalid, which I'm sure just adds to the confusion. Like Awida said, you can't marry someone with the intention that he'll divorce you so that you can remarry husband #1. The woman and husband #2 have to go into the marriage with the intention that they're going to make it work. And then if her marriage ends for whatever reasons, she could potentially marry her first husband.
A recent drama that did deal with halala properly, even if the drama itself was poor was Rabba Mainu Maaf Kareen. The main couple got divorced and remarried to other people and when their second marriages failed (for different reasons) they got remarried to each other 'for the sake of the kids'.
