Karan Johar needs to be summoned to find out the circumstances of DRive being released on OTT if the actor and the director had a difference of opinion on it coz there were reports on it, if there is a Bollywood coterie and nexus that makes or breaks a career.

I wonder why Drive which was supposed to release in Sep 2018 was pushed to release in June 2019 only to be released on OTT in Nov, 2019.

Sushant was not in touch with kjo since 1 yr as indicated by his post. That means when drive released he wasn't talking to him. There was no promotion also.

Kjo the producer of the film. If he thinks film won't do good theatrically, then releasing it on OTT is in best interest of the film. If y'all sushant fans had cared about his films before his sad demise, has supported him, made him a star who guarantee good audience pull KJo might have released it theatrically. Drive was a dud. Dharma had a good deal with Netflix. Dumping this trash on Netflix was the best option. Sonchiriya wasn't given screens and an unofficial dubbed version was started. Chhichore despite being a good and blockbuster film didn't get that recognition. So many coincidences? Paani-shelved, chanda mama door ke -shelved . Tgere were many others also that were shelved. Don't remember the names. And now critics are blaming audience for not watching sonchiriya. When we gave the example for dhoni , kedarnath and chhicchore which were blockbusters , 1 female critic (with a blue tick) said dhoni was hit due to dhoni, kedarnath due to sara and chhicchore due to nitesh tiwari. This is the mentality everyone's talking about. You want to believe sonchiriya didn't work due to sushant and audience but his other films worked due to other actors/directors . Audience aur fans kare to kare kya.

And about KJO , ask him kitne budget pe 'drive' bnai thi qki dara paisa to usne kalank pe lga dia tha. Director bhi kaun lia Tarun Mansukhani jisne ab tk 1 he film direct ki h wo h dostana. Watch the movie aur pta chal jaega kitne chillar kharch kiye the usne. Movie nhi car racing game lg rhi thi itne kharab effects the. Profit ki to baat he nhi h . Spend hundreds of crores of money on star kids and spend nothing on an outsider who's just given a blockbuster like 'M.S. Dhoni'. Isse accha bnao he mt movie paise nhi kharchne to. Kisi outsider ka career q khrb krna.

4. Srk k itne stans h wo zero ko hit nhi bna pae to sushant ne to abhi start he kia tha.

5. Films like shuddh desi and kai po che alsi earned well. Both had only newcomers in it. To btao kiski wajah se itni appreciation mili audience se.

6. Movies like sonchiriya and omerta don't work in theatres and BO. Look at the appreciation they're getting on OTT because OTT platform has viewers that genuinely care about content.

7. Action movies like Drive have some luck in the theatre if the effects and action sequences are good. Script doesn't matter much in those movies. Look at war and saaho.

8. I can't believe a director/producer like karan who has been in the industry for these many yrs can make a film like drive and doesn't care to review it once while it's filming. In addition to that, poor effects and action sequences . It's clear that he didn't invest much money in the film because of which the movie turned out to be a joke.

Oh no, he was too busy with nepo jhanvi for 'dhadak' nd alia for 'kalank' and investing money in their films.

Why make a low grade film and avoid investing money in that film with an outsider when you know his career can go downhill because of it.
