Part 42
R- You know what was it ,our tiny baby's heartbeat .Main to khud ko rok hi nahi paaya ,I started crying . Tu bhi sunegi ,I got that in my mobile phone ."
Saying so he put the earplug in her ear and turned the voice on, in a hope that may be she can react and she did reacted . He saw tears drops flowing from corner of her eyes , he smiled a bit knowing that she is listening to him . He kissed the back of her palm and said " bas ishita ,ab aur intzaar nahi hota .come back, hum sab adoore hain tere bina ."
Saying so he sat back again in his place and started talking randomly ashe do it daily . Days started passing with its pace ,now ruhi and Raman both started spending their time in hospital as ruhi was feeling too alone in house without her parents . Now she come directly to hospital after her school and goes back to house in night with the driver who comes to give Raman's dinner . Raman has started coming from office early so that he can spend time with ruhi . Ruman talk to ishita , talk in themselves ,does ruhi's homework in this time then she goes back to house. Earlier they were too sad but now they had learnt to live life like that .
Ishita's treatment was going on its pace , though her body was still but the baby was growing nicely.Now five months had passed, ishita has entered in sixth month of her pregnancy, her baby bump has started showing up . Raman was happy with the growth of baby but he wanted that ishita should feel these all as she has alwats craved for this .
Raman took out ishita's ultrasound
film and spoke " rooh come ,I will show something to you ."
Ru- coming papa ,let me just complete my homework .Abhi driver uncle aa jaayege to mujhe ghar jaana padega .
R- ok ,complete it soon then I had something very great to show you .
Ru- bas ho gaya .
Saying so she again started writing . After ten minutes ,she was done with her homework then she came to Raman and said " haan boliye papa ,kya dikhana tha aapko ."
Raman showed the ultrasound film to her and said " ye dekho ."
Ruhi saw it ,then she looked at Raman and said " mujhe pata hai ye mumma ki report hai but papa mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai ."
R- arey buddhu ,can't you spot your brother in this .
Ru- brother ,aapko kaise pata chala ki ye ladka hai .
R- I asked the doctor ,he was not ready to tell but when I said that the gender don't matter to me ,its just I want to call my baby he or she then the doctor told me that its baby boy . Ruk main tujhe dikhata hoon kahaan.
Saying so he spotted the fetus in the film and said " dekh ye hai tera bhai ,can you see his small hands and legs ."
Ruhi looked deep into it but couldn't found so she said " no papa ,I can just see this big black spot ,haath pair to mujhe nahi dikh raha . Bas wo theek hai ,ye hi mere liye kaafi hai ."
R- ok .
Saying so Raman folded and kept it back when ruhi asked " aur heartbeat, aapne wo record ki."
R- haan bilkul ,you know you mumma na .abhi shaanti se padi hai but when she will woke ,she will want know everything thats why I m keeping this all .tu jaate samay ye reports aur ye CD lete jana .
Ru- ok papa.
They say silent for sometimes then ruhi asked " papa doctor ne kuch kaha ,lya improvement hain ."
R- they are saykng everything is ok , wo aaj bhi theek ho sakti hai aur bahut dino baad bhi . We can just pray that she wake soonish .
Ruhi hugged Raman and said " I miss her somuch papa . Bhagwaan ji itne cruel kaise ho saktein hai , itne saal main mumma ke bina thi . Abhi kuch din pahle hi to mujhe wl mili hain aur phir unke saath aisa ho gaya . Mumma ke bina bahut bura lagta hai papa, bhagwaan ji chotu ke saath to aisa nahi karenge na . Bichara wo kitna chota hoga , mumma ke bina kaise rahega ."
R- even I too was thinking this but you don't worry bhagwaan aisa kuch nahi karenge . You mumma is fighter, wo theek ho jaayegi dekhna .
Saying so he pulled ruhi closer and kissed her hairs ,looking to ishita as if saying her to listen her daughter and respond . Ruman were still talking when the driver arrived with Raman's dinner .Today Ruman wanted to eat together, so toshiji had send ruhi's food too in the tiffin.Ruman had their dinner, talking to themselves and ishita. Then ruhi left while Raman started working, he worked for long time then went to freshen up and change. The hospital has almost become his house ,so he had all his basic things in the room itself.He changed into his nightcloths and went to talk to ishita as his daily routine before going to sleep . He settled into the seat beside her and spoke " ishita suna tune ruhi kya kah rahi thi . Na sirf ruhi but hum sab bhi tujhe bahut miss kartein hai ,aur hamara baby wo to bahut chota hoga ,how he is going to make without you . So if not for us you have to wake up for him . Bataya na maine tumhe ,we are going to have a baby boy . Hamari family poori ho gayi , hum dono aur hamare do bachche ,bas tu jaldi theek ho ja madarasan. "
Saying so he kissed the back of her palm and rested his head holding her hand . That's when he felt some movement ,as if ishita is carrssing his hairs.He immediately got up and checked her but she was steady like earlier , he made a sad face and spoke " ishita what are you doing to me ,dekh main pagal ho raha hoon tere bina . I just felt that you a caressing my hair but seems it was just my illusion. Aisa mat kar madrasan....
He was yet to complete his sentence when he saw something moving on her stomach under the sheet . He slowly removed the sheet and found there was nothing .He again got disheartened and was covering her again when he felt something moving again ,he immediately checked and found that it was the baby who was moving inside her tummy . Raman smiled feeling the first kick of their baby and said with teary eyes " ishita dekh ,ab to hamara baby bhi kick maarne laga ,ab to uth dekh wo kitna bada ho gaya hai,its long jaan, almost six months . Main kahe de raha hoon ,jab tak tu nahi uthegi main apne baby ka muh nahi dekhne wala . Tu uth atfirst I will see you then only ,I will see our baby's face ."
He spoke this and waited for her to give any response but she didn't stirred abit . Raman looked towards the roof and said
" aur kutni pareeksha lena chahti hain matarani ,we are being struggling for last six months ,ab to kuch karo . You kept us waited for six years and after that long wait ,we got ishita . Hamari zindagi abhi normal hui hi thi , me and ruhi had just got someone who genuinely loved and cared for us but this happened. Don't you think you are little unfair to us ."
He completed himself and kept looking at the roof for sometimes then got up ,kissed ishita's forehead ,said " good night jaan" then went to his bed . He lays on the bed and closed his eyes. He was not yet sleepy ,sp he turned to ishita's side and looked her thoroughly as if checking her for just a little movement but seems today waa not the day . After much time his eyes becsme droopy and got closed itself , making him slip to dreamland .
