Not answering the set question paper but..

In my view Ranbir doesn't have a strong personality. If he was not so strongly related to the Kapoor dynasty he would have been in the Vikrant Massey category of second lead and support to female oriented movies.

He's a good actor but lacks versatility. From mainstream BW lead actors of his generation, I find RKR better than him on all counts. Vicky, Ranveer, Ayushmann are also better than him in the versatility department.

Ranbir can do very well in certain kind of roles. Can never imagine him pulling off a RKR from BKB, Vicky from Masaan, RS from Bajirao or Ayush from Article 15.

Not all starkids are mediocre and not all outsiders are supposedly second coming of Irrfan Khan .

I don't consider him a versatile actor. There are tonnes of genres he can't do (eg: masala, action- Varun, tiger & Ranveer fare much better in these) I don't find his dialogue delivery that good (among young actors I think Vicky Kaushal is really good in this department for ex. in manmarziyan and sanju), imo he will fall flat in hard hitting roles (Nawaz in GOW for example).

Versatility is also in nuances, all.his characters are nuanced and deeply felt through performances.. Ranveet can try diff roles but he failed in lot them went OTT when it was not req.. no wonder he was called a "electrocuted monkey" by Raja Sen. Lol Ranveer's dialigue delivery is worse.. half of 'em are not even audible..

I doubt Ranbir would be able to do Andhadhun & Article 15: Ayushman carried these characters with a terrific mix of sleek charm, vulnerability and grit... Andhadhun and Articles 15 are right up Ranbir's alley, he aces brooding, quiet, roles here u are contradicting yourself..

I haven't seen Ranbir do well in romance either. Take Vicky, Irfan and Ranveer's roles in masaan, lunchbox and lootera for example (I am talking about true blue romance movies here, not sh*tty romcoms). YJHD, Barfi, are examples Lootera was a disaster so it doesnt count Ranveer's dialogues were not even audible, he acted like wimp Sonakshi completely outshoned him..The problem with RS is his limited acting talent gets pawned by costars be it Sonakshi, newcomer Siddhant or Vaani.

Can Ranbir play an underconfident, vulnerable guy like Rajkummar and Vikrant played in Trapped & A Death in the Gunj? Idk. Hayn!! He did play an underconfident vulnerable guy in Barfi, Jagga and got praised for it..

What about historical movies? (Like Jodha Akbar? Bajirao Mastani? Dare I say, Baahubali??) He hasnt tried one, so its hypothetical, again better do them really well or not do them at all.. Ranveer in Bajirao or Paddy can nevet match a HR in JA..

In the same way, the actors above won't be able to do Barfi. But then again, his suitability for that role has more to do with his looks ie. he looked cute in the film. I do think many of the actors I mentioned above would nail the expression and emotional aspect of the character.

All said and done, here is the thing:

Ranbir is a good actor. And yes, probably the best actor-star of his generation.

However, Ranbir is not, what most people in the media & industry like to portray him as: the GREATEST actor of his generation. There are many many genres he cannot do or we haven't seen him doing.

He is the best actor of his Generation..be it critics or audience most agree...all his peers rate him high be it Ayushman, Vicky, Vijay D or Dulquer they considervhim an inspiration..that says a lot.

If you actually think about it Ranveer, Vicky Kaushal and even Varun have a more diverse filmography than him. Maybe brahmastra and shamshera will change this??

Only time will tell.

Also no one I repeat NO ONE can lip sync like Ranbir..thats a talent too

Rakjkumar Rao, Nawazuddin, Vicky Kaushal & many more.
