Chapter 17: Marry Me?

Arjun's car drive

Arjun is driving the car at full speed after listening to his father, he couldn't stop himself so he jumped into one of the Audi cars which are parked outside the mansion and drove towards Riya's home. Whereas his parents looking at his retreating figure with confusion for a few mins before deciding to follow him so that they could talk to Riya's sister and BIL.

The fear of rejection from Riya is slightly engulfing him now and he doesn't know why he feels this way. He does know this was his mistake leaving her when she was going through the ocean of inner turmoil at the same he feels this is right giving her space otherwise he would never know about Riya's love for him. Perhaps he finds out her original identity of being Veer Sir's daughter, but her past journey would be hidden from her forever. Looking at her selfless love he confirmed that she is never going to tell him about that.

At Riya's Home

It was evening Riya, Dhivya, Pallavi and Aditya are sitting in the lobby. Riya is silent and deep in her thoughts so she failed to see Dhivya's gleamed face and she is looking at the entrance expectantly like she is waiting for someone. Whereas Pallavi and Aditya are looking at her in confusion because after she came back from wherever she left and Dhivya being behaving weirdly added to the fuel.

"Dhivya, Where did you go?" Pallavi asked her in an uncertain voice while looking at her happy face.

"Just to meet one of my friends nothing else, Didi" Dhivya tried to avoid the topic.

"But you didn't know anyone here other than Riya!" Pallavi suspected her.

Amidst the talking between her sister and her best friend still, Riya is still living in her head not caring about their talks. Instead of focusing on Dhivya's explanations, Aditya is looking at Riya's gloomy face and he feels Riya is surprisingly so silent.

At Riya's Apartment

After 1 hour of travel, Arjun got down from the car. But standing in the lift area in confusion and he didn't know how to face Riya and her reactions. It's scaring to his wits nevertheless he has to face her and this time, no running away from her and her feelings. After encouraging himself, he walks towards Riya's home.

~Back to Riya's home lobby~

Pallavi is waiting for Dhivya's answers, but before she could cook up some story and convince her, Arjun entered the room in his glory. Pallavi and Aditya are looking at him with surprise because it's been 4 days since he had stopped visiting Riya the reasons unknown to them and they thought it was Arjun who is not interested to see Riya but looking at his face there is something more from his side.

Riya getups from her place looking at Arjun and since she didn't meet him after the hospital fight, she thought it was her hallucination at the start, and she started having this hallucination and imagination of Arjun from that day. She blinked her eyes twice and thrice, so, he could vanish from the place, but nothing that sort of thing has happened instead Arjun is walking towards her slowly to approach her. Before he could reach her and come in front of her, she turned her heels and ran towards her room which is on the other side of the lobby and making others look her in confusion especially Pallavi.

Arjun is hurt by the way she runs away from him without listening to him. Looking at her determination it seems she is not even ready to see him and listening to him is not even in the dictionary.

"Riya," Arjun shouts looking at her retreating figure, and his voice is laced with sadness.

Pallavi is ready to send Arjun outside because when Riya is not ready to listen he should not force her to meet him, but Aditya held her tightly and nodded his head like 'NO'.

Without caring about the people in the hall, Arjun started to run behind her so that he can follow her. Pallavi was about to stop him, but Aditya's voice interrupted her from doing so.

"Let him go and meet her," Aditya said softly and holding her forearm.

"But Riya doesn't want to meet him. Can't you see, Adi?" Pallavi raised her voice with a hint of anger in her voice.

"Trust me! She will be fine" Aditya assured her and loosened his grip on her forearm.

He had noticed something in Arjun's eyes for Riya. It seemed he was broken and shattered completely inside when she was unconscious in the hospital and he feels there is something that does not meet the eyes.

Pallavi half-heartedly agreed with him. Dhivya is kinda amazed by Riya's behavior after seeing Arjun, she thought Riya would be excited, but here she is running away from him making her confused.

The trio looking at each other face with confusion, concern, but they couldn't do anything so they have decided to wait for them in the lobby.

Riya's bedroom

Riya is running away from Arjun and tears started to roll down in anger, pain, and confusion and in her own misery, she failed to notice Arjun is following behind her with jet speed. She tried to close the door of her bedroom after entering it, but before that Arjun placed the right leg to prevent her actions. Again she tried to close the door forcefully so that Arjun would back out, but he is so stubborn and strong making her failing in her attempts. Riya stopped her struggle of closing the door when she felt her attempts are futile. Using this opportunity Arjun entered the room.

Riya turned her face to another side and not facing Arjun. He carefully moved closer to her and stood behind her with hesitation for a few mins, before placing his right hand on her shoulders so that he could make her face him. When his warm hands touched her cold skin, she turned her head in anger. His skin is so opposite of his cold heart because his skin so warm and providing her warmness which she is craving for years, but all she had received from him was a coldness, freezing coldness that could make her freeze every time from moving on in her life. His heart and his touch are opposite of his behavior because one is providing her warmth and the other one is providing the coldness that would make her imperturbable always.

Arjun's brown eyes met her deep black eyes without blinking, It's like Arjun is trying to search in her eyes what so special about him that she loves him unconditionally, whereas Riya looking at his eyes, which are mixed of all the emotions reflecting love, pain, care, and the fear of losing her. Thus making her surprised, because his eyes were never easy to read, it always makes her confuse in every possible way. Tears rolled down on her cheeks looking at his diverse emotions filled brown orbs. Arjun tried to move closer to her so that he could wipe off her tears, but Riya stopped him by showing the back of her hand.

"Go" Riya whispered averting her gaze from his brown orbs.

But Arjun does not care for her warning and he moved further to wipe off her tears. He stretches his hand to her face, but Riya pushed him with all might.

"Stop wherever you're and Go from here, I said, Go, " Riya shouted in anger and pushed him again placing her hands on his hard chest.

Arjun stumbled down a bit, because of the force she is pushing him, but he had maintained the pace not falling down on the ground.

"I'm sorry for everything but listen to me once, please!" Arjun literally begged in front of her.

Something he never did to anyone, not even to Roshini but he is doing with Riya.

"Go away from me! I don't want to see you!" Riya shouted once again but tears are streaming down.

"Riya," Arjun tried to touch forearm so that he could see her.

"Don't touch me, Don't... " Riya pushed his hand in anger.

"First and foremost, listen to me once, and without making you listen I'm not leaving the place, and it's final" Arjun exclaimed back.

"You want me to stay away from you and I'm giving your so-called space and freedom by staying away from you, then what's your problem? Why do you torture by coming closer to me? Why? "Riya screamed at him.

Arjun is looking at her and shaking his head in denial, but Riya is not letting to talk.

" I knew why do you come here! You want this right? Right?" She pulled the neck chain and showed him.

"You want this chain back right and you came here to tell me that you can't love and marry another person other than, Roshini. You here because you feel guilty after wearing this chain to me. You are here because you don't want me in your life. You're here to break my heart again right!" Riya yelled at him.

"Stop this crap right now, Riya. First, listen to me once. Don't jump into conclusions without knowing the full truth" Arjun half yelled and half-whispered the last part.

Riya is silently watching him without uttering a word so taking this as an opportunity and Arjun tries to talk.

"Do you know? How much pain I have gone through this week? Do you know how I felt rejected because of your indifferences towards me? Why do you do this to me when I'm trying to move on in my life? " Arjun shouted at her and pain is visible in his voice.

Riya's blood boiled in anger listening to him and marched towards him with full force and clutched his shirt collar in anger.

"Pain and rejection. Do you know the real pain of me? Do you know, at least an ounce of it? Just for one week, you had felt the pain and momentum of anger, then What about me and my pain, Sir?. Just for leaving me a while, you suffered a lot, but decades of my pain, would you know that?" Riya pulled his shirt collar in anger thus making the distance between them diminish slowly.

Arjun does know what she had gone through because of him and at least one time he wants to listen to her scolding and inner turmoil out open without grudging or holding back.

"Do you know how many sleepless nights I had because of you? Just because of you? You don't have any idea what I have gone through and going through now! Do you know how many days I craved to have you in my life and to be this close to you! You know nothing, absolutely nothing! " Riya indicated the minimal distance between them physically.

Tears rolled down on her eyes, and she wiped off the tears in the back of her hand and looked at him accusingly for the pain he has caused her knowingly and unknowingly.

"I knew" Arjun confidently replied and holding her gaze.

"You don't know anything about me, nothing at all!" Riya averted her gaze and pushed him backward leaving his shirt's collar.

Arjun is engulfed with emptiness when Riya had pushed him. He is craving for her warmness that could make his heart go marathon.

"I knew everything!" He whispered to himself.

He doesn't want to tell her everything and spoil their messed life once again, so stopped telling her that he knew her past and his father and everything about her life.

Riya started to walk away from looking at his confused face. She still believes that Arjun is not ready to accept her and her love in his life.

"When I want to go away from you, you came closer to me against my wish but when I want to come closer to you, Why are you pushing me away from you? I didn't know what I should do now? Don't give me this torture?! Just do one thing kill me instead of killing me with your silence! " Arjun murmured in pain.

Riya looked up, hearing his painful voice and the pain is killing him part made her anger rise to the peak.

"Why do you care if I push you away from my life? Why do you care if I refuse to meet you at the hospital and here? I'm just a subordinate to you, so you shouldn't worry about me.! Arjun was stunned hearing her reply and looking at her with a shocked face. But Arjun composed himself and carefully uttered the next words.

"God damn it. Because 'I Need You', I need you more than you need me in your life " Arjun confessed in a breathless tone and his voice is cracking up at the end.

Riya who wants to escape did not listen to him fully so she is starting to walk away from the room, but she was stopped by rough hand which caught her right hand. Before she could process what is going on or turn her head to see him she was pushed against the nearby wall.

Arjun is tightly holding both of her arms behind her back and pushed her soft body on the wall without hurting her. Riya started to tremble when his manly scent is tingling near her. He is so close that the air couldn't pass through them. His hard body crushing her soft petite frame and his strong arms caging her tightly so thought she can't escape easily. But Riya is Riya, she started to wriggle harshly so that she could move out of his arms.

When Riya is not looking at him, he poked her chin upward to look straight to his brown orbs.

"Stay still, don't wriggle, You will hurt yourself!" Arjun whispered while looking at her struggle to free herself from his strong arms.

"Let me hurt and die in pain. Why do you care? You don't want me, right?" Riya mumbled in anger.

"I can't let that happen, because.." Arjun whispered and look at her face to read her thoughts and feelings.

"Because?" Riya whispered back and mirroring his tone.

"Because 'I Need You' I need you more than you need me in your life. If something happens to you, what will I do? Arjun will be alone without Riya." Arjun repeated his lines which she failed to listen in the first and waiting for her reply.

Riya looked him with tears filled eyes, but still acting strongly in front of him. Her control already broken when he confessed his true feelings, but she wants to know to what extent he is going to get her, at least once. She wants to feel wanted, desired and loved by him.

"I won't leave you even if you want that. You are fated to be with me forever " Arjun sealed her life with him forever and the sincerity in his voice melting away Riya's anger, insecurities, pain, and agony but increases the love for him.

" Why?"Riya asked him in a breathless tone due to his proximity.

"Because I need you. I need you desperately like the man who searches water in the desert." Arjun confessed to her indirectly how important she is in his life without actually confessing.

Riya stares his brown eyes and trying to search for any hesitation or second thoughts to accept her, but his brown eyes full of love, care, desire, and passion for her, just for her that makes her heart swell with pride. She is not feeling bad that he didn't tell her that he loves her because he confessed to her in his own way. This man in front of her, again and again, proving that he is unique from other men in the world, the man of few words when it comes to her and her love.

Arjun is standing with bated breath and waiting for her reactions after listening to him. He feels she is going to push him again just like the way she did at the hospital and just a while ago here. If he didn't hold her tightly she would have escaped from his arms already.

When she didn't react the way he wants or he desires, His grasp loosens from her and he slowly started to uncage her in his arms but the next action of her startled him.

She breathed in his manly scent of woods and sands and making her heart flutter. Right now her heart is doing overtime and ready to jump out of her rib cage at any time because of their closeness. Every time this closeness is making her breathless. Arjun's state also is not less than Riya. He is also having a tough time controlling his desires and passion for this girl who is in his arms and hugging him tightly with her almighty.

And making both of them burn in the fire that was ignited by love. The passion and desire to be together ignited and it feels right to every extent. Arjun carefully moved his hand to Riya's waist and held her tightly. When she feels his one hand is releasing her arms, she grips him more tightly. Her soft body flushed against his hard body.

Both of gazing at each other with love and Arjun tighten his hold on her once again, his both the hands encircled in her waist tightly and Riya's both the hands clutching his shoulder in tight behind his back. She fisted a piece of cloth from the back of his shirt tightly. He slowly looked up to see her face and stare her for a few mins before whisper at her in a breathless tone.

"Why do you love me this much?" Arjun softly asked while looking at her black orbs which are oozing love for him.

Even after hurting her and even after seeing his indifference behavior her love for him the same, and the external factors couldn't erase the love for him. Initially, he thought Riya is going to push him away after listening to him instead she hugged him accepting him. Something he never dreamed his life that someone could love him to this extent that she couldn't see anything except him in the world.

When Riya is silent and not answering him so he thought to ask the question again because he wants to know the reason desperately like a madman at least just once.

"Why do you love me this much, Riya? " Arjun carefully uttered each word so that she could answer him.

" I don't know!" Riya whispered under breath and her voice is so feeble that he couldn't hear it properly.

Arjun moved closer to her cause he couldn't hear him due to her whispering. Right now Arjun standing in Riya's personal space, even the air couldn't pass through them. Both of them so close that their noses are almost touching now and she is standing on his feet and balancing their height difference.

It was Arjun who carefully moved her to his feet when she has difficulties in looking at him in his arms. Thanks to the stars because both of them are barefoot without shoes or slippers. And Riya is accepting the proximity to a certain extent that she is comfortable in his arms. It's like she is drugged by looking at his brown eyes and dancing on its tunes without any objection.

The moments are so beautiful and yet so pure. She didn't know whether it's a dream or reality because she has gotten a chance to see Arjun's loving side of him and witnessing his calmness like the sea is something unusual.

Arjun moved his ear close to her face so that he could hear her without hurdle.

"I didn't know!" Riya whispered once again on his ear carefully.

Arjun carefully looked up from her face to her eyes to search the reasons for his own.

Riya paused for a moment before replying to him honestly.

"Maybe You need to search in my eyes again and again. And tell me as well,' Why do I love you this much?' Except you why I can't see anything in this world !" Riya spreads her arms wider showing the measurements of loving him, but she couldn't scale it.

A lonely tear rolled down on his left eye freely, because he almost forgot love and to be loved by someone, until he met her. She grinned happily and looked at him with love. Arjun feels her gaze is touching his soul. It's burning his entire existence.

Riya stretched her right hand to wipe off his tears. Peaceful silence prevailed in the room, except their mingled breath nothing could be heard.

He moved closer to her and started to rub his nose on her sharp nose playfully and whispered.

" Marry me !"

"Huh?" Riya confusedly asked him. Because she never thought he is going to marry her, not even in the fantasies.

His tone quieted her, and she stared up at him, breathing heavily. He listened to her breathing, could almost taste her skin from their position. Her breathing faltered, but she remained defiant. Her breathing was ragged, tears on her face.

"Marry Me, Riya!" Arjun breathed in her.

"Why?" Riya whispered back and gazed at his brown eyes.

"Because I need you. Because Arjun needs Riya in his life" Arjun inherently accepted his feelings.

Riya silent without uttering a word and making all sorts of negative thoughts run through his mind. When Riya is not responding to him, he carefully tries to remove his hand from her waist. But still close to Riya and standing on his feet.

Riya pulled him closer to her by his collar when he tries to withdraw from her and stare him back with all the love she has for him. It's true, she had confessed her love for him already and going a step ahead marrying him also in the car, but everything happened in a flash of light that too when she felts she never going to see him again. However, when he asks her to marry him with full consciousness that makes her insides twist and her heart goes marathon jumping in joy.

She kissed his forehead lightly and moved to kiss his eyes that always captivated her without knowledge. And she lightly kisses both the eyes and accepting his marriage proposal.

"Y...Yes.I will" Riya shatters due to his proximity.

Arjun opened his eyes and gazed at her with love. Arjun gave her a small smile, but a genuine one that reaches his brown eyes. The true smile she had seen when he was with Roshini.

Arjun kissed her right cheek softly like she is a delicate doll if he kisses her tightly she will evaporate in the thin air leaving him all alone yet again. Just like the way she did in the car.

Making Riya heart to go marathon and at the same time, a single tear slipped through her left eye when he had kissed her. For this moment and to be with him was a dream for her always but it's happening like it is meant to happen.

Her tears rolled down and touched his right hand, so Arjun carefully wiped off her tears and nodded his head like 'NO' and cupped her delicate face in his large hands. And kissed her forehead tightly to relish the moment. Arjun joined his forehead with her and closed his eyes to freeze the moments of togetherness.

It's like after an eternity Arjun wants to release Riya from his arms because if he stays more than one minute, he would end up kissing her against the wall itself. Her soft body, her ragged breath, and her heavenly scent making him lose the control he is having. It's like bit by bit and string by string the control is slipping away, but the passion and desire are engulfing him for this woman. So he thought to leave the place, but Riya understood his moves in order to prevent him from moving away from him. She pulled his shirt sleeve and stared at him.

"Don't go, Arjun" Riya mumbled in pain.

It's like a fresh breath after hearing her calling his name after five days and even when he came here she refused to take his name. But now she fulfilled his wish making him dance mentally.

"Riya" No response from her.

"Riya, Look at me!" Arjun ordered her softly.

"Please don't go, Arjun. I knew you will leave me again!" she softly cried against his chest.

" I'm not going anywhere. It's late already and I have to go now because your sister is waiting outside. It won't be good to stay here And I will come here whenever possible. " Arjun tried to make her understand.

"Please, stay with me" Riya mumbled in a crying voice.

After 4 to 5 days she sees him and she doesn't want to leave him soon.

Arjun sighed in defeat looking at her crying face.

"Okay, Okay. I will stay, don't cry, please!" Arjun mumbled under his breath and wiped her tears carefully.

Listening to him she hugged him again tightly and holding his waist. Arjun lip twitched upwards looking at her calm face. When she is in his arms, he forgets all the pain and only the peacefulness surfacing in his mind and heart nothing else.

~Back to Hall~

The trio is looking at the way Ariya left until Mr.&Mrs.Rawte entered the hall. Aditya and Pallavi looked at them in confusion for their sudden arrival, but Dhivya has a slight idea they came still not sure of it.

They greeted Arjun's parents and made them sit on the nearby sofa and now everyone is sitting in the lobby looking at each other with confusion because of their sudden arrival.

Silence prevailed in the room so Mr.Rawte tried to break the silence in the room. Before talking, Mr.Rawte cleared his throat, and not seeing Arjun with them confused him but still, he acted obliviously.

"How is Riya?" Mr. Rawte's asked in concern looking at Pallavi.

"Yeah. She is good!" Pallavi answered him, but with a hint of the suspect for their behavior in her mind.

She is not sure whether they didn't know that their son is here and it's being 1 hour he is inside her sister's room and God knows what is the purpose of his visit and what they are doing. The thought itself, making her nervous and scared.

"That's good. Actually, we came here to talk about..." Mrs.Rawte stopped in the middle.

"About?" Pallavi queried them looking at their faces.

"Riya's hand for Arjun!" Mr.Rawte said in a single breath.

Pallavi and Aditya are looking at them with the wide-eyed, but Dhivya is inwardly happy and she is waiting for Pallavi to react to it.

"What?" Pallavi yelled at them in shock.

"Yeah! We feel both of them would be happy in this marriage!" Mr.Rawte calmly said and he does know there is much more waiting for him once he reveals the truth so he doesn't show up on his face.

Aditya and Pallavi are ready to listen to them once, before jumping into their conversation and stopping them at midway.

"We knew it would be a shock to you guys, but trust me they will be happy in this marriage. Actually we came to this decision after a lot of thinking and pursing Arjun for this marriage " Mr.Rawte carefully used each phrase to make them understand precisely, Pallavi. Because after seeing her protectiveness towards Riya at the hospital, they knew it would be a bit difficult for them to make her understand.

Mr.Rawte continued after a pause. Looking at their silent face.

"It was Riya who brought a change in my son's life in every perspective and we are thankful for that forever for Riya. We almost believed that we lost our only son after Roshini's death, but Riya did magic on him and now he is ready to move on his life with Riya." Mr.Rawte whispered the last part with a choked voice while thinking about whatever his son gone through in the past.

"Who is Roshini?" Pallavi questioned them leaving everything about Ariya.

"She was a " Mr.Rawte stopped in the middle because of the emotions which are overpowering his senses now.

~Back to Riya's bedroom~

Arjun is holding Riya in his arms tightly, and she placed her head on his chest and listening to his heartbeat with closed eyes.

"Riya" Arjun slightly shook her shoulders to bring back her from dreamlands.

He cupped her face in his large hands and whispered," I will go now, and take care of yourself! And have medicines on time"

Riya gazes his brown eyes and muttered," Stay with me, Arjun"

She starts to cry thinking that after that he would leave her like every time and won't come back to visit her.

"Hey, please. I promise you that I'll come whenever possible so don't stress! Just one call I will be here so don't worry!" Arjun whispered and wiping away the tears

"Promise?" Riya looked up him and waiting for his answers.

"Arjun's promise!" He whispered back and kissed her forehead tightly once again to assure her.

Arjun Uncaged her from his arms and give her plenty of advice to take care and any problem call him right away that he would be at her home within 15 mins and giving her all sorts of promises, Riya finally let him go out of the room.

~Back to Hall~

"Who is Roshini?" Pallavi questioned them and waiting for them to answer.

"She was Arjun's wife and slaughtered by some underworld don two years ago!" Mr.Rawte whispered, but only pain is dripping in his voice.

The shock would be an underestimated word to describe Aditya and Pallavi especially Pallavi.

"What Arjun has married already and his wife was murdered !" Pallavi exclaimed and anger visible in her voice.

She stood up from her place and everyone gets up from their place looking at her angry face.

At the same time, they didn't notice Arjun is listening to their talk after coming out of Riya's room. Listening to their talk, he is rooted in the place and when his father trying to explain to them about Roshini, he fisted both the hands tightly and trying to control the anger and pain.

Looking at their parent's painful faces, he walked towards them in silence and stood with them.

"No..No..." Pallavi shouted in anger.

Her thoughts are going beyond imagination that in the future because of something happening to Riya and she is losing her life for Arjun.

"No.No. I can't accept this and It won't work out." Pallavi screamed so that she can come back to her present.

Riya who is inside the room and hearing her sister's painful scream dashed out towards the hall to see the happenings. When She came back in tension everyone is outside and looking at her sister. And looking at Arjun's parents, she couldn't guess the situation so she looked at her sister in confusion.

"It won't work out. Arjun has already married and whatever had happened to Roshini it shouldn't have happened, I agree and we are sorry for that, but I can't accept this proposal and I don't want my sister to go through that pain and the harsh reality." Pallavi bluntly rejected their proposal.

"But, just once listen to us. Arjun hasn't done anything wrong, it was fate whatever had happened in his life!" Mr.Rawte supported his son.

"I'm not blaming your son, absolutely not. All I want is my sister to be happy in her marriage life and I don't want her to face anything whatever Roshini went through!" Pallavi adamantly replied.

"Riya..." Mr.Rawte tries to talk, but interrupted by Arjun's voice.

"Dad! We will leave now! You can't force them so let's go" Arjun voices out and touching his father's forearm lightly so that he can look at him.

He motioned his father, like 'No' because he doesn't like his parents pleading others for his happiness and this is the last string he wants to see in his life where his parents requesting something for him from others, and he certainly can't witness this moment at all. When someone is angry or blinded by fear it would take time for them to see the truth. Right now Pallavi is surrounded by all the negative thoughts so they can't force her and she is right to the extent because he failed as a husband protecting his wife and as a father losing his baby. She has all the right to reject him and he can't blame her.

"I didn't mean to hurt you guys, it's just that it won't work out. Arjun and Riya are not possible!" Pallavi apologized for her rude behavior

In her trance, she didn't notice her sister Riya who is blinking away her tears so that it won't slip through her eyes. And even Dhivya trying to interrupt Pallavi but she showed her the back of the hand to stop.

Arjun and his parents are starting to walk towards the door. Aditya is not sure how to convince his wife when it comes to Riya she will behave madly and listening to others is not in her dictionary.

"Pallavi, listen to them once, at least. I guess you shouldn't jump into conclusions and take decisions in a hurry!" Aditya shouted with a tinge of anger for her blunt behavior.

"Let her be, Aditya. Trust me, no human can protect and love your sister more than Arjun.!" Mr.Rawte supported his son.

He paused for a moment before continuing and whispered, "We will be waiting for your call! Before taking a decision just once ask your sister as well. Who knows, she might be happy with Arjun or her happiness is lies with Arjun only."

"If possible, try to understand your sister's feelings, I'm sure you would be surprised after knowing her to wish, Pallavi" Mrs.Rawte whispered with a small smile.

Saying this they moved out of the room with Arjun before leaving the room Arjun craned his neck to Riya's side to look at her. Just five feet away from him, she is standing with unshed tears and biting her lower lip to control the sob. He does know her inner turmoil and the way life is making her stand at crossroads and she didn't know either to follow her heart and call him or stand there looking at his retreating figure with longings to satisfy her sister.

Once Arjun is out of her sight, Riya let the tears fall down freely and run towards her room. It was just while ago she was happy with Arjun but everything is shattered in a single moment.

Riya's crying eyes and the way she looks at Arjun with longing is not missed to Aditya's eyes. But Pallavi failed to her sister's plight in anger and disappointment.

"Pallavi, this is not the way you behave to elders.!" Aditya shouted at her.

Pallavi already moved out of the place and not listening to him. Dhivya is not sure either follow Pallavi or Riya. So she waited for a few mins before following her best friend.

Pallavi and Aditya's room

"You can't leave the place like that! Whatever you did at the hall is not right and I don't like it, Pallavi" Aditya exclaimed in outrage.

"I didn't have an option, Adi. I really feel bad for Arjun and his family. But for that reason, I can't let him marry Riya. What if Riya also faces that situation in the future?" Pallavi queried him in anger.

"Do you really think Arjun was the responsibility of his wife's death?" Aditya doubtfully asked her.

"I didn't know and I really don't want to know that and all. Maybe Arjun is not responsible, but because of his job Roshini had to face the brutal death." Pallavi justified her actions.

"I'm sorry, but your mother also murdered because of your father's foe, did you blame him? Did you frame your father as a culprit when he failed to save your mother? Did you?" Aditya questioned her carefully because her parent topic is always delicate to talk even still now.

Pallavi is silent because she knows whatever her husband is telling is the ultimate truth. Either She or Riya never blamed her father for their mother's death because they know it was an attack to take revenge on his father and his father loved her mother till his last breath and he was the best husband and father they have seen in their life. So they never blamed him for that incident.

"You didn't blame him because you trusted him and you know that everything is part and parcel of your father's job. If you could accept your dad's job, why not Arjun's? Stop thinking that something would happen to Riyu! " Aditya carefully explained to her.

"I'm not blaming Arjun for Roshini's death. Why would I do that? I care for my sister alone, nothing else!" Pallavi refused to listen to him.

"If you don't blame why not consider him for your sister?" Aditya challenged her.

"Have you seen Arjun and his anger, attitude, and rude personality at the hospital? He is so different from our Riya. And I feel that guy is not easy to deal with. He is a volcano and Riya is a sea. Both of them can't be together and it won't work out certainly." Pallavi replied thinking about Arjun's personality.

"Yes, he was behaving rudely with doctors and he has an attitude and anger issue, I agree with it. But he was the one who was shattered when Riya was unconscious in the hospital. He was the one who had saved your sister by giving blood to her. Don't you know the sea has the capability to cool down the busting volcano? And maybe Riya could calm his anger and his raging heart who knows?" Aditya questioned her.

Looking at her thinking face he continued further.

"Just one thing I want to remind you! Whenever we talk about marriage Riya would be the first person to deny the proposal, Right? But today she didn't either refuse Mr.Rawte or reject their proposal bluntly like the way she used to do it, instead, she was silent during the entire time. Why would she do that if she doesn't like Arjun?" Aditya throws questions at her so that she can think about it.

"Maybe she doesn't want to hurt you! Just once talk to Riya or try to understand her feelings before refusing Arjun." Aditya answered his own questions.

Pallavi looked up her husband confusingly.

"Maybe Arjun would make Riya happy! I feel with Arjun she will be happy, more than happy. Maybe like the way, Mr.Rawte told no man in the world could love and protects our Riya other than Arjun. Maybe they are meant to be together." Aditya supported Arjun.

"I will talk to Riya, but before that, I need some time to think about Arjun!" Pallavi reluctantly agreed with him.

"If you forget one thing, let me remind you. Riya was behaving aloof when Arjun hasn't met her at the hospital, maybe she anticipated his arrival or maybe she wants him in her life. You're a doctor and her sister and you know how to read her mind and unsaid feelings more than us, so don't be a blind person who refuses to accept the truth which is in front of you!." Aditya reminded her about Riya's behavior.

"Take your time, I wish its a Yes from your side.! Sometimes giving others a second chance would be good for us as well. What if Arjun makes Riya happy and protected.? Think about it. I'm not forcing you to accept Arjun but don't reject him without proper ground just because he has married already and his wife has died. As a man, it is the most difficult task in the world to move on from his past life that too when you have a brutal past. You must be happy for this man who bends down on his principles just for our Riyu, no one else, and ready to move on in his life with Riya" Aditya explained her.

"I will try level, Aditya, I pray to God that I shouldn't make any decisions with hurry" Pallavi whispered in confusion.

Aditya nodded his head understandingly and mouthed." Everything will be okay!". With this, Aditya moved out of the room so that his wife can think freely without any external pressure.

Around 11 PM

Pallavi goes to Riya's room to see her, After that incident in the lobby, Riya hasn't come for dinner so Dhivya took the food and made her eat. So she wants to check her on her own. She carefully entered the room so that her sleep wouldn't break. There Riya sleeping hugging pillow in the right hand and her left hand tightly clutching her neck chain in her sleep too, making suspicious grow in her mind about the chain. Anyways, she was going to talk to her at that time she decided to ask her. Before talking, she has to think from all perspectives and then decide. With this thought, Pallavi left the room.

After 2 days.

During these two days, Riya is silent, not talking about the incident, but looking at her mobile phone constantly like waiting for someone's call. Dhivya and Aditya are waiting for Pallavi answers and still, she is deep in her thoughts so they couldn't guess what's on her mind. After that incident, both Arjun and Riya want to talk to each other but refrain from doing so, thinking that it would hurt Pallavi and her feelings.

~ Riya's bedroom ~

It was around 9 PM in the night, Riya is sitting inside her room with Dhivya and both are talking in a hushed tone. Pallavi came inside her room with hesitation because she took a prolonged time to think and talk to her sister. Dhivya made an excuse of an important call and left the room in a hurry seeing Pallavi's hesitation to come inside and she does know why she came to visit Riya so the thought of leaving sisters alone for some time.

Riya smiled at Pallavi softly and sit comfortably in the bed.

"Didi, What's the matter,? You came here all of a sudden?" Riya whispered, but her eyes not meeting Pallavi's.

"Why? I shouldn't come to see my sister?" Pallavi teased her.

"No, no. It's not that. You came suddenly that's why!" Riya cleared her doubts.

Pallavi smiled at her genuinely and take hold of Riya's hand and whispered, "Are you alright, Riyu?".

"Yeah, I'm but why are you asking now? Doctors said I will be completely cured within a month, so no problem!" Riya confusingly asked her.

"No, no, Not that. Are you seriously alright after meeting Arjun and his family?" Pallavi carefully questioned her and waiting for her response.

Riya is silent and her eyes started to burn up thinking about the incident.

Pallavi smiled inwardly and she is damn sure now what her sister wants in her life. Though she behaved rudely with Arjun's family, she really wants to know Riya's opinion on this and before that, she wants to know about Arjun and finally, she decided to meet her sister after clearing her misunderstandings.

"Why? What happened? Why are you crying now, Riyu?" Pallavi asked in concern, though she knows the reason.

"I.." Riya's voice is choked and she couldn't speak.

"He was the same person whom you were mentioning that day in London, right? While saving him only you got injured in the old mill, right? " Pallavi questioned her with a hint of authority

"Yes!" Riya mumbled looking at her face.

"Do you think Arjun will make you happy? Do you think he will protect you? He had failed as a husband to save Roshini then how could he save you?" Pallavi deliberately questioned and she really wants to know Riya's reaction to this.

"Whatever happened to Roshini is not Arjun's fault. Someone wants to take revenge on him and they had used this way to hurt his wife and his unborn body and for this, you can't blame him, Didi!. He is so good at heart but never shows on his face" Riya supported Arjun to her sister.

She paused for a moment before continuing,

"He always there for me whenever I need him.! I know he will be there for me in the future always!. I feel very protected with him. When I'm with him, I don't need to fear anything in the world. With him just trust and safety nothing else." Riya whispered confidently to her.

"Why do you trust him this much?" Pallavi cross-questioned her and raised her eyebrows.

"Because..." Riya stopped in the middle.

"Because you love him, Right?" Pallavi completed it for her.

Silence prevailed in the room hearing Pallavi's confident voice. Riya looked at her sister and waiting for her to deny or shout at her and ask her to forget Arjun because of his brutal past, but nothing happened as the way she thought instead Pallavi is listening to her carefully.

"Didi!" Riya softly cried and tears rolled down on her cheeks freely.

"I don't know why you were always so closed about your feelings. You were never so vocal about your feelings, thinking that we will be hurt but that's not true. Sometimes I feel like a sister, I failed to understand you or maybe I was so busy with my new life with Aditya that we drifted back so much." Pallavi replied in a guilty voice and tears clouded in her eyes.

"No, No. You're the best sister, I could ever ask in my life. It was just me who always held back my feelings to myself" Riya supported her.

Riya lies down on Pallavi's lap and Pallavi caressed her softly and whispered, " I didn't want to hurt Arjun or his family. I don't want my sister to go through the pain, whatever Roshini had faced. It's not that I'm rejecting Arjun, cause he was married already, It's because I'm scared to lose you that's all, Riyu".

"But I love him, Didi. I love him so much that I didn't know how to control my feelings for him. I tried hard, really hard, but I couldn't do that. With him, I feel protected and safe. I want to be with him always and sometimes I'm ashamed of accepting these feelings, but I couldn't stop this racing heart for him" Riya confessed her true feelings first time in front of her sister.

Tears rolled down on Riya's cheeks and Pallavi pleasantly surprised about her sister's reply. This is the first time Riya is vocal about her feelings. How many years she had waited for this moment. Finally, it happened.

" You don't need to be ashamed of your feelings and the way it makes you act, it's just natural, when you love someone blindly or unconditionally, so don't think low of yourself. I just hope with Arjun you would find the happiness which you lost years ago!" Pallavi uttered and cleared Riya's tears.

"Are you happy about this Didi! I meant.." Riya asked her in hesitation.

"I didn't know, Riyu. I just want you to be happy and I knew your happiness is with whom. I really hope he doesn't break your trust. If he does that he has to face my wrath." Pallavi assured her with a hint of determination.

" If you're not happy about this, no problem. I'm happy the way we are, Didi. You don't need to go out of your character to accept Arjun." Riya replied half-heartedly.

"Your mouth is saying something, but your heart wants Arjun, only him.!" Pallavi teased her with a hint of a smile playing on her lips.

The heart to heart talk with her sister Pallavi got an idea about Riya's feelings and certainly, she does know what she has to do now and that would make her sister happy.

"Don't stress yourself, whatever meant to happen will happen in any way. No force in the world can stop that," Pallavi mumbled and caressing her hair softly so that Riya could sleep.

"And Trust me if you're happy, I'm also happy," Pallavi assured her and smiled at her softly.

Riya smiled at her and due to medicines and lack of sleep her eyelids are dropping slowly and soon she enters into a dreamless sleep. Pallavi smiled at her fondly and moved her head from her lap to pillow and covered her with the blanket, switched off lights before leaving the place.
