What you are calling as bias of PH's is simply their like and dislikes. Yes you may not agree with their likes or dislikes but how can you ask them not to do what they like when you yourself are not willing. to change.
I called it a sacrifice for the PH's because just like you found the trailer boring they also find casting insider's more interesting. They find it more interesting to cast some one's son and daughter and the hype that comes with it.
I do understand if a father wants to produce movie for his son/daughter. He is investing "his money" and gambling. If it is a success, he will profit. If it sinks, he will think twice to produce another next time.
Previously all stars produced first movie of their children. Some were hits (Love Story etc). Firoze Khan made movie for Fardeen and it badly flopped. Harman Baweja debuted with Priyanka Chopra who was the top heroine then, still flopped. Even successful producers like Aditya Chopra gets nervous when they have to launch their brother. Even he tried with Priyanka as lead and still it flopped. If they go blind with their love, it is them who get burnt.
But I cannot say so for the recommendations and conditions. For example, KJo interfering when Aditya Chopra launching new faces (let us keep out the discussion whether Ranveer was insider/outsider. At least, Anushka was an outsider). I am speaking about these kind of unnecessary influences.
Secondly, putting conditions to act or market. Anil Kapoor putting money in his daughter's movies is fine by me. Hemamalini also tried. Esha's movies were flops. Still Anil Kapoor took risk. Sonam's movies made decent businesses. That is fine. But him putting a condition to act in a movie, provided they his daughter as the lead is not ethical. Either you say "yes" or "no" to a movie based on script. Don't influence other movie makers.
I feel many times outsiders loose out because, insiders come with recommendations and conditions.
Your claim about PH preferring insiders because they come with a hype. It may be applicable to star's daughters. (Like Jhanvi, Tiger or Sarah). But if they are the children of producer, director or script writer, nobody would know them. For junta, Varun Dhawan was as familiar as Sid in their first movie. It is the movie which gave him hype. Main difference between outsiders and insiders is not the hype their name generates (Arman Jain), it is the connection.
Supporting outsiders doesn’t mean that we should blindly support whatever content they release. Most outsiders are working in horrible projects because the good ones are being hogged by the elite.
So what’s so unfair in that ? These outsiders need better opportunities. Put Vidyut in a Baaghi or Tara in a SLB movie - and watch what can happen.
Bold- Arrey where did i not give audience credit for making outsider movies hit. I listed a bunch of outsiders saying their movies were hit which is why i can't relate to what Manoj is saying. I am writing it in bold again incase you missed it last timeOriginally posted by: Krantikari
I think you are being hypocritical in blaming the audience for not changing themselves and then claiming that outsider films did well. They did well precisely because the audience is changing. You give credit to audience for making Dharma films hit but you neglect to do that in the outsiders case. Who exactly in your view made their films successes then?
What Manoj is saying is that those films don't get the similar number of screens or distribution, I take his statement at face value because I don't think he has anything to gain by lying about this. In fact, it would these statements would probably hamper him professionally.
Those Dharma films that were blockbusters were released 20 years ago, it has no relevance to the current discussion because the Bollywood landscape and audience has changed hugely since then. In fact, I can say with confidence that if those films released now, they would tank.
People aren't against audience taking action, there's literally a huge anti-nepotism movement storming social media right now. Change doesn't happen overnight. And it won't happen at all if people like you try to stifle the discussion by blaming the audience and pointing out hypocrisy at every corner. Everyone is a hypocrite, including you and me. That doesn't negate the toxic power structures and monopoly in the Bollywood industry. I don't understand why it's so hard to understand that.
Rajkumar Rao, Ayushman Khurana , Karthik Aryan , Vicky Kaushal, it's their movies previously that have done well. Infact it was last year only that Ayushman and Vicky both won joint best actors at several award functions. A film like Newton (Rajkumar Rao) got a lot of acclaim. So what Manoj is talking about hasn't really happened.
So yes its audience that makes movie a hit. Whether its insider or outsider. Dharma or non Dharma movie.Hence if an outsider movie flops they need to take the blame and not blame nepotism. If audience is not watching Vidyut's movie trailer then fault lies with the movie makers and not nepotism. If a star kid movie like Alia or VD is a hit then they need to get credit and credit should not go to nepotism because its audience who have made that movie a hit.
I am sorry i cant believe any one blindly. I use my own brain and logic. I am not dismissing Manoj's POV, but what movie is he really talking about.I have listed a bunch of low budget or outsider films that have done well. If Manoj is talking about some of his movies that audience only did not like so not much can be done about that.
No i am not talking about 20 year old movies😆. Which Dharma movie except Kalak has been a flop recently? Can you please tell me? Even horrible movie like SOTY2 was a moderate hit and earned 100 Cr.
And the huge anti nepotism social media movement 😆basically abusing and criticising KJO and gang online. This is not a big step. Let me tell you this is the easiest thing. Sitting behind your laptop with you pseudo name and hating on people is the easiest thing. Doesn't cost any one anything. But chalo people want to do it then i am even ok with that. But what other than this. Are people willing to take any real action like lets say may not watch a Dharma movie? Will they do anything other than hating on social media which like i said is probably the easiest thing to do? Answer is no which is why this movement is a farce. I believe in 'being the change you want to see in the world'. Hating people on SM is normal i am not against that. But only hating people on SM and not doing anything else? not making a change in your own movie watching lifestyle for what you believe in? Yes that seems hypocrisy to me.
To do what ? Vidyut proved he can trend on Twitter. He should be a made man after that 😆😆
Just can’t get over the disparity in likes and re tweets from his nepotism tweet to his trailer tweet. It’s like he became a someone and then a no one again over night 🤣

It’s not that hard to understand. He needs better content.
Yes he an outsider and got support for his nepotism tweet but that doesn’t mean that he can work in shitty movies and that the public should support him. He deserves better work and good work.

So until Karan/Adi cast him in a film his current films and their trailers will be ignored ? That doesn’t help anything and actually harms him 😆😆
Fairweather indeed

I said good content. Not Dharma/YRF movies.
