From history both songs had same impact, mr India also considered one of all time great Hindi films. Also the great Saroj khans first big hit.

Ek do teen was a choreographer’s song, it gave birth to Madhuri Dixit, thanks to Saroj Khan. Yes, this song drew numbers to theatres for the overall picturisation based on its novelty in lyrics too.

On the other hand, Hawa Hawai was just another song to go with the flow of the movie. May be even inserted with no expectations or no hype. Again Saroj Khan brought the best of comedy element in Sridevi. Her expressions combined with comic features retained our gaze on her throughout the song. Sridevi nailed it and to the present , I guess no one, just no one can still do justice to the song the way Sridevi performed. Even today this song brings a smile whenever I watch it. So my vote for Hawa hawai 🥰👍🏼

Who cares about the movie or the choreographer? A song is considered as hit acc to number of times it is played or repeated. And from what I remember Ek do teen was played much more than Hawa Hawai.

You can also see how much people wanted to see the remake to compare it to the iconic Ek do teen.

I was questioning your statement that ek do teen being bigger hit when both the songs had big craze and same impact and was equally a big hit and iconic. Hawai Hawai was already spoofed many times so your claim that people only wanted to see ek do teen remake is wrong.
